Will there be a third installment in the series after the massive success of Baahubali 2?

Baahuabli 2: The Conclusion has opened to phenomenal response from the audience. The movie is shattering all pre existing box office records for an Indian movie. SS Rajamouli and his team’s Baahubali series has taken Indian cinema to an international platform. But sadly the series has come to an end with just two parts.

Eventhough the director has made it clear that the series will not continue after the second part, many are still hoping for it to continue. Recently when asked about the possibility of a third part, actress Tamannah is quoted saying,

People have been asking Rajamouli Sir and I also was curious. So, I will just tell you what he told me. He mentioned that the franchise of Baahubali will continue through comics, VR and other stuff. Now there are so many other platforms where you can continue a film like this. So that will happen. But the world of Baahubali and the other characters will culminate in the second part.

In another interview after the release of Baahubali: The Beginning, Rajamouli himself had revealed that he had no plans to continue the series in a film format. However, the world of Mahishmati and Baahubali will still continue through comics and video games.

Meanwhile, Baahuabli 2: The Conclusion has become the fastest Indian movie to cross the Rs 500 crore mark. The movie is all set to unseat Aamir Khan’s PK to become the highest grossing Indian movie of all time.

Prabhas is riding high on the astounding success of his latest outing Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, the sequel to 2015 all time blockbuster Baahubali: The Beginning. The series made him an household name all over India with accolades and offers flooding in.

The actor has finally started to concentrate out of Baahubali. After stepping out of the shoes of Baahuabli, he is all set to start shooting for his upcoming Telugu movie Saaho which will be directed by Sujeeth.

Now there are unconfirmed reports doing the rounds about Prabhas being approached for playing a prominent role in the upcoming multilingual The Mahabharata. The movie is an adaptation of MT Vasudevan Nair’s award winning novel Randamoozham. Popular ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon will be directing this film which stars Mohanlal in the lead role of Bheemasenan

The movie is being produced by Dr BR Shetty, Founder and Chairman of UAE Exchange and NMC Healthcare. It will be the most expensive Indian movie ever as they are planning to invest a whopping Rs 1000 crores (150 million USD) for production.

The makers had earlier informed that apart from Mohanlal, the movie will also have some big names from India and world cinema. Grapevine suggests that the makers have approached Prabhas after being impressed with his performance in the Baahubali series.

Recently, when asked about him being part of The Mahabarata, he said, “Mohanlal sir is playing that role (Bheema). If he leaves any character for me. If I get a chance, why won’t.

It is still not confirmed whether the makers have offered Prabhas a role in the movie. But it will be mouthwatering stuff to watch Prabhas and Mohanlal sharing screen space.

Kerala Box Office : Sathya Collection Report 11 Days

Kerala Box Office : Sathya Collection Report 11 Days

Jayaram’s first movie of the year Sathya was released on April 20. The movie directed by late filmmaker Diphan opened to mostly negative reviews. Lacklustre performances and the age old mass masala formula backfired for Sathya.

Reports from trade sources inform that Sathya has managed to gross just Rs 76 lakhs from it’s 11 days theatrical run in the Kerala box office. This sparse figure suggests how massive a failure Sathya has turned into.

The movie, written by renowned scenarist AK Sajan stars Jayaram in the titular role. The veteran actor underwent a stylish make over by sporting a salt and pepper look with a grey beard for the movie.

Leela fame Parvathi Nambiar essayed the female lead’s part while actress Roma Asrani also played a pivotal character as dancer Rosy. Aju Varghese, Sudheer Karamana, Rahul Dev, Vijayaraghavan, Balachandran Chullikkadu, Pashanam Shaji, Major Ravi, Rohini, Kottayam Nazeer, Nandu and Sohan Seenulal are also part of the cast.

The movie is produced by Feros Saheed under the banner Shehnas Movie Creations.

Baahuabli series is widely regarded as Indian cinema’s pride. The movie can be proudly presented on an international platform alongside some of the biggest epic historic dramas from around the world.

The series is nothing but a spectacular show of director SS Rajamouli’s unparalleled genius. His vision or imagination levels is unbelievable and fairy tale stuff. The director’s vision is brought in a celluloid format by production designer/art director Sabu Cyril and his team of technicians.

Sabu Cyril, the Malayali presence in Baahubali, is one of India’s most sought after art directors. A multiple national award winner, Sabu Cyril is known for the grandiose he brings on screen. Starting his career in Malayalam, Sabu has worked in some of India’s biggest movies like Enthiran, Hey Ram, Ra One, Krissh 3, Lingaa etc.

Sabu Cyril is now returning back to Malayalam film industry after a long gap. He has committed for two big budget movies starring Mohanlal- Odiyan and The Mahabharata.

Both the movies will be directed by popular ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon. While Odiyan is said to be a fantasy period drama, Mahabarata is a mythological period drama based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s novel Randamoozham.

The Mahabarata is being planned to be made on a whopping Rs 1000 crores as the most expensive Indian movie ever. The visual spectacle in this movie will be bigger and monumental than Baahuabli, so it is only fitting that Sabu Cyril has been roped in to handle the movie’s production design.

She had a significant role in the first part but appears for just a few minutes in the sequel, that too in the climax.

Tamannaah was also absent from most of the promotional events prior to the release. This triggered widespread rumours about a fall off between the actress and the director SS Rajamouli. However, Tamannaah has come out dismissing all these rumours as totally baseless.

Clearing all the airs, the actress said that she was completely aware about her character’s prominence in the sequel. She also slammed reports about an alleged tiff with the director and clarified that she has attended all the promotional events that the makers had asked her to.

Meanwhile, the movie is setting the box office on fire worldwide. Reportedly, the movie has already crossed the 500 crore mark while also becoming the fastest Indian film to do so.
