Bairavaa audio release date confirmed

The countdown for the audio launch of Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s upcoming movie Bairavaa has begun. According to sources, audio of the movie will be released on December 23.

Earlier it was reported that the makers were planning to release the audio in the second week of December with a grand event, but the plan was dropped after the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Later it was revealed that the audio will be directly released through online platforms.

Now, according to trustworthy sources, the album will released on Sun Network. They also own the satellite rights of the movie. The songs will be officially released on December 23rd morning in the studio. The event will attended by important members of the team of Bairavaa.

Santhosh Narayanan has handled the music department of the movie. This is the first time the talented composer is working in a Vijay starrer. Vijay has also sung a peppy number in this movie.

Bairavaa is touted to be a rural entertainer set in Tirunelveli. The movie stars Keerthy Suresh as the female lead opposite Vijay. Azhagiya Tamizh Magan Bharathan is directing this movie under the banner Vijaya Productions.

Jagapathi Babu, Daniel Balaji, Sathish, Mime Gopi, Aparna Vinod, Sija Rose, Harish Uthaman, Vijayaraghavan, Seema G Nair, Roshan Basheer and many other actors are also part of the cast.

The movie will have a worldwide release on January 12, next year as a Pongal release.

Kammatipaadam bags award in IFFK

Young star Dulquer Salmaan’s superhit movie Kammatipadam has won the Network for the Promotion of Asian Film Centre (NETPAC) award for the Best Malayalam Film during the 21st International Film Festival of Kerala(IFFK) which concluded yesterday.

Kammatipaadam directed by Rajeev Ravi was both critically and commercially acclaimed. The movie met with rave reviews upon release for its casting and the direction.

The movie dealt about the coming of age story gangster story. It also discussed about how urbanisation affected the lives of people in the lower sections of the society. Debutant Manikandan Achari and Vinayakan were highly appreciated for their performance in the movie.

Dulquer Salmaan was also praised for his portrayal of the lead character Krishnan with three different looks. After the award was announced the actor took to social media to congratulate the team and share the happy news with the fans.

He wrote on his Facebook page,
“Congrats to team #Kammattipaadam for winning the NETPAC award for best film at #IFFK !! I’m sure it’s the first of many. You deserve every accolade that comes your way Rajeevetta and your whole team. So blessed to have been a part of the film”.

The story of Kammatipaadam was written by Rajeev Ravi and the screenplay was written by actor/writer
P Balachandran. Madhu Neelakantan handled the cinematography in the movie.

Dropped cinema for my wife, says Jeethu Joseph

Jeethu Joseph is one of the front line directors in Malayalam cinema industry today. The director has made movies with some of the biggest stars like Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Dileep, Suresh Gopi etc.

But before he was introduced to the glamour world of cinema, Jeethu Joseph had a very ordinary life. In a recent interview, he shared details about how he entered movies.

He said, “Back in 2007, I was very eager to join the film industry and learn direction. But my wife Linta was against it and I had to drop my cinema ambitions for her. Then I concentrated in farming and some family business but I was not successful in any of that.

Finally, circumstances and various other factors forced my wife to encourage me to join the industry. Then joined as an assistant to director Jayaraj and slowly everything fell in place.”

The director’s first movie was the investigative thriller Detective with Suresh Gopi playing a double role. Though the movie was not a commercial success, it was noted by the audience for the movie’s thrilling climax.

His next movie Mummy and Me, a family drama was an average success commercially.

His next release My Boss starring Dileep was a superhit movie. The humour in the movie worked terrifically and it showed the director’s unseen side.

Jeethu Joseph again returned back to his favourite turf, thriller with Memories. The movie starring Prithviraj was a blockbuster success and the director was heavily appreciated for the writing and the skillful direction.

In 2013, he joined hands with Mohanlal for the first time. Drishyam, a thrilling family drama was the industry’s biggest hits till that time. He then remade the movie in Tamil with Kamal Haasan in the lead. The movie was also a commercial success.

Jeethu Joseph’s last two releases Life of Josutty and Oozham were average successes at the box office.

The director’s next will be the launch vehicle of the much awaited star kid Pranav Mohanlal. This movie will again be an action thriller.

Apart from he is writing script for debutant Anzar Khan’s Lakshyam starring Biju Menon and Indrajith. He will be working with Biju Menon once again for a movie titled as Thaskaran, based on the real life of a thief in Kollam.

Anil Radhakrishna Menon has directed only three films, but he has already made a mark in the film industry. All his three movies discussed distinct themes that were like chalk and cheese.

His debut movie 24 North Kaatham, starring Fahadh and Swati Reddy won the National award for the best Malayalam movie that year. It was about the travel of techie with obsessive compulsive disorder(OCD) and two others on a Harthal day.

His next movie Sapthamastree Thaskaraha was a heist movie about 7 jail mates planning a robbery. The movie was a multi starrer with Prithviraj, Asif Ali, Nedumudi Venu and many others.

Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi was his third directorial venture which again was a multi starrer that had Kunchako Boban, Sunny Wayne, Bharath and many others in the lead roles. The movie focussed on the need for nature conservation set in the backdrop of tribes in a forests.

Now the talented director is getting ready for his fourth movie which will features new comers in the lead roles. Nyla Usha and Nedumudi Venu will be essaying pivotal characters.

This new movie will be fun adventure film set in Thrissur. Reportedly, the movie will go on floors by March next year.

Anil Radhakrishna Menon has written the movie together with Kozhikode collector Prashanth popularly known as collector bro. The latter is currently in Mussoorie for official training.

The scripting will be over only after he returns back from the training. The two are also in talks for a movie with Fahadh Faasil in the lead.

Malayalam film actress Dhanya Mary Varghese was arrested yesterday from Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu for financial fraud of around 130 crores.

The actress’ husband John Jacob and his brother Samuel, were also taken into custody along with her. They own the construction company Samson and Samson Builders. Her father-in-law, Jacob Samson is the chairman of the company. He was arrested last month by the Crime Branch.

According to the police the accused cheated about 80 people on the pretext of building 20 villas and 500 flats. They collected about 100 crores from the complainants in 2011 and promised to finish the works within 2 years. Another 30 crores were collected promising high interest rates.

Dhanya Marya Varghese, even though not a director in the company, had deceived clients by stating on the company website that she was a director.

Several complaints were filed against them in many police stations in Thiruvananthapuram. Many of the clients are non Keralites and NRIs. The exact amount involved in the fraud case will be clear only after their statements.

The trio were on the run for the past few months. They were arrested in Nagercoil with the help of the cyber cell officials. A look out noticed was issued by the police department to nab the accused.

The accused were produced in the court yesterday itself from where they were taken into police custody for further interrogation.

According to trustworthy sources, popular actress Bhavana will get married by April next year. The wedding dates has not been fixed owing to the actress’ prior commitments.

Bhavana is currently shooting for Honey Bee 2 : Celebrations, the sequel to superhit movie Honey Bee released in 2013. She has not committed for any other Malayalam movie after that.

The actress has been approached for playing the female lead in Charlie’s Kannada version, but she has not yet signed on the dotted lines. Her marriage date will be fixed only after she takes a call on the Kannada movie.

Reportedly, Bhavana’s fiancé is a popular Kannada producer. But the name has not yet been revealed. Her wedding ceremony will not be a grand posh affair like other celebrities, it will be a simple ceremony in a register office in the presence of close friends and family only.

The actress had discussed about the wedding with her father before he passed away last year. He wanted his daughter to have a proper wedding ceremony inviting all family and friends, but he later accepted his daughter’s choice.
Bhavana is still not over from the sudden demise of her father.

Vimaanam is a story about a youngster who out of his love for flying, designs an ultra light aircraft of his own. The movie is inspired from real life events of a man in Kerala.

In Vimanam, Prithviraj plays a pre-degree dropout whose major aim in life is to build an aircraft that he can fly. The female lead has not yet been finalized.

It was earlier reported that the actor will be learning the basics of flying to play the lead character. Prithviraj will be taking flying lessons at a flying yard in Ambasamudram in Tamil Nadu. The team will also be shooting for a few scenes during the training.

Prithviraj always strives for the extra yard of perfection. Last year the actor had got a deep-sea diving expert certification to film the underwater scenes for the superhit movie Anarkali.

Gopi Sunder is composing the music for the movie. Reportedly, the movie will also have a interesting romantic track.

Debutant Pradeep M Nair is directing this movie and is produced by Listin Stephen. Listin Stephen has produced many new age superhit movies in Mollywood like Traffic, Chappa Kurishu, Usthad Hotel etc.

Megastar Mammootty recently talked about late actor Murali, the relationship they shared and the reason for their so called enmity.

Mammootty said, “We both shared a very good rapport and had an emotional bonding between us. He was the first person who talked high about me in TV channels when I won my first National award.

If you take a look at some of the movies where we shared screen space, be it as a friend or a villain, you can see a very emotional relationship.

I cannot explain the kind of bonding we had in words. We did not care to show our attachment in the open. But one fine day, I turned into an enemy for Murali. I really don’t know what was the mistake from my part. He passed away suddenly without even revealing the reason.

He looked at me as an enemy during in his last days. Even today, I don’t know what was the exact reason behind the enmity. I was very down when Lohithadas passed away, but Murali’s passing away affected me mentally.”

It must be remembered that Mammootty was one of the very from the film industry who attended Murali’s daughter Karthika’s wedding recently.

Murali and Mammootty have acted in many superhit movies. The friendship between Mammootty’s character Achooty and Murali’s Kochu Raman was one of the major highlights of the movie Amaram.

Prithviraj’s upcoming horror thriller Ezra has piqued the curiosity of the audinece with it’s intriguing trailer. The trailer released week promises something unseen in the Mollywood industry.

The visuals, sound effects and the quality of the shots are up to the mark of some of the best horror thrillers in Indian cinema.

Ezra is directed by debutant Jay K, a Mumbai based ad filmmaker. Rahul Raj has composed the music while Sujith Vassudev handled the cinematography.

After the release of the trailer, there are many reports that superstar Mohanlal is starring in Ezra. They claim that Mohanlal is playing the title character ‘Ezra’.

In the beginning of the trailer, we can see a man from behind holding a paper that reads “The spirit of Abraham Ezra dislocated from his body 1941 AD”. The man has a slanting shoulder and a physique that resembles Mohanlal.

Some photos claiming to be Mohanlal’s look in the upcoming Prithviraj directorial Lucifer are still doing the rounds in the social media.

In these photos Mohanlal is wearing a chain with a locket that is strikingly similar to the one Prithviraj is seen holding in the trailer. Also during the shooting stages, the Wikipedia page of the movie had Mohanlal’s name in the list of the cast which was later edited.

All this has spiked speculations among the fans of both the actors. However, there has been no official word from the makers of Ezra.

Priya Anand is playing the female lead in Ezra which is also her debut movie in Malayalam. The movie also features Tovino Thomas, Babu Antony, Vijaraghavan, Sudev Nair, Bharath Dabholkar and debutante Anu Sheetal playing important characters.

The movie is produced by Mukesh R Mehta and C V Saradhi under the banner E 4 Entertainment.

He said, ” For the last two years, Mohanlal’s fans were furious on me for beating him in the movie Drishyam. I was very hesitant to act again in a similar kind of role in Oppam, where I had to beat him again.

But director Priyadarshan encouraged him and said, this time Mohanlal will fight back. When I watched the movie in theatre, I was very happy to see the audience’s response after he gave me the first punch. That showed the anger the fans had on me.

Both the movies were huge blockbusters, and without that I will not be standing here today. When the role in this new movie came my way, the first thing I asked was whether I will have to beat Lalettan again. Only after that I hopped on to the project.

During the shoot of the movie in Kozhikode, a group of youngsters told me that they will not let me go back home safely if I dare to beat Lalettan again. However, they were very happy after watching the shoot.”

Munthirivallikalal Thalirkkumbol is written by M Sindhuraj and directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob. The movie is based on a short story Pranayopanishad written by James VJ. Sophia Paul has funded this movie under the banner Weekend Blockbusters.
