MM Mani’s reply to director Jude Anthany Joseph

The state’s newly sworn in Electricity Minister MM Mani has replied back to director Jude Anthany Joseph’s Facebook post indirectly pointing against the Minister’s appointment.

The director in his official Facebook page had posted an abrupt status, “went to school for nothing” indirectly pointing at the Minister’s appointment. MM Mani lacks education, he is a 5th standard dropout.

This post from the director did not go down well with many Facebook users. He was criticized severely for judging a person’s political abilities based on his educational qualifications.

Minister MM Mani has now replied back strongly at the filmmaker. He has said that, politics is not like cinema direction. Filmmaking is a business intended at making profits but politics is a different ball game. It is more of a sacrifice.

The Minister added that he has reached this position after overcoming lot of difficulties and hardships. He has a political experience of over 50 years, so he said there is no need of a clean chit from a cinema director.

Jude Anthany Joseph is an active Facebook user who posts about various topics. The director has been criticised by netizens many a times for his stands on controversial topics

Vijay Antony’s Saithan finally gets a release date

Music director turned actor Vijay Antony’s upcoming movie Saithan has finally got a release date. The movie was earlier scheduled to be released on November but was postponed due to the demonetisation move. Saithan will now have a worldwide release on December 1.

Saithan is a bilingual made in Tamil and Telugu. The movie is titled as Bethaludu in Telugu. Vijay Antony’s previous movie Pichaikkaran was a commercial success. The Telugu version, Bichagadu was an even bigger blockbuster raking in a massive collection of around 5 crores from the opening weekend itself.

The movie is a psychological thriller directed by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy. He is also handling the cinematography while Vijay Antony himself is composing the music.

Arundhathi Nair is playing the female lead while popular Chennai-based bike racer Alisha Abdulla, Meera Krishnan, veteran actors Y G Mahendra and Charuhaasan are all playing pivotal characters.

Aadukalam Murugadoss, Kamal, Kitty Krishna, Siddhartha Shankar, Vijay Sarathy and Meera Krishnan are also part of the cast.

Saithan will have a large scale release in Kerala. E4 Entertainment and Surya Films  are distributing the movie in Kerala.

Fathima Vijay Antony is producing Saithan under her banner Vijay Antony Film Corporation.

Saithan is said to have done a huge pre release business. The movie has been certified with a U/A rating. Sun TV has bought the satellite rights for Saithan.

Popular singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi is getting married to Santhosh, also a musician hailing from Puthiyangadi. The engagement will be held on December 13th. The marriage is fixed for March 29 next year.

Vaikom Vijayalakshmi did not let her blindness affect her music. She entered the film industry in 2012 and soon won the hearts of Malayali audience. Her first song “Kaate Kaate” from director Kamal’s Celluloid won her a Special Jury Mention in the Kerala State Award for the year 2012. Next year she won the State Award for best singer for the song “Ottaku Paadunna” again from director Kamal’s Nadan.

We already reported about the many records made by Mohanlal starrer movie Pulimurugan directed by Vysakh and it seems that there is no stopping Puli Murugan from making records each day.

We can say that Pulimurugan had created a record in creating records in Mollywood. Almost all the records were re-written by this film and there is only a very few records remaining in Mollywood now and it will be surpassed by Pulimurugan very soon.

Every single box office records in Mollywood is in the name of Mohanlal now and we have to create a non- Mohanlal category of records here in Mollywood, as surpassing the records set by him is very difficult and only he can do it.

Now, like that he had created another all-time record in Mollywood with Pulimurugan, surpassing the record held by his own Drishyam for the past few years.

Pulimurugan had now crossed 27K shows from the A Class theaters alone in Kerala from its 48 days run. Drishyam had 26K shows from the A class theaters here in its lifetime run.

Panyan Raveendran, former state Secretary of Communist Party of India is the latest to join the bandwagon of politicians who have come out heavily against Mohanlal.

While addressing the protest organised by Co-operative bank employees, Panyan Raveendran
criticised Mohanlal for the controversial remarks in his recent blog post.

Panyan Raveendran addressed Mohanlal as Mr Pulimurugan, pointing at his character in the recent blockbuster movie of the same name.

He said, common people are spending their hard earning to watch your movies and make them great successes. It is not very thoughtful to turn a blind eye towards their problems.

Mohanlal in his blog had written that if people could stand in long queues in liquor shops and religious centres, there is no harm in standing in front of ATMs and banks for a better tomorrow.

This comparison did not go well with many people and the actor has been receiving flak ever since his blog was updated.

Earlier, Congress MLAs VT Balaraman and VD Satheesan had criticised Mohanlal’s blog and opposed his stand on the issue.

Newly sworn in Electricity Minister of the state, MM Mani called Mohanlal as a black money holder who is supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for hiding his black money. CPI(M) MLA Swaraj also criticised Mohanlal through his Facebook post for supporting this ‘foolishness’ by the government.

BJP leaders from the state, Kummanam Rajasekharan and K Surendran supported the actor and defended his stand on the issue

We had earlier reported that Manyam Puli, the Telugu version of Pulimurugan will be releasing on December 2nd.

The trailer for Manyam Puli was released today in YouTube. The trailer is almost the same, that was released for Pulimurugan except adding some action sequences and much more importance to Tollywood actor Jagpathi Babu.

Jagapathi Babu played the villain character Daddy Girija in Pulimurugan.

Pulimurugan is written by Udhayakrishna and directed by Vysakh. Apart from Mohanlal and Tollywood actor Jagapathi Babu, the movie also stars Kamalini Mukherjee, Lal, Namitha, Bala, Kishore and many other supporting actors

Popular producer Krishna Reddy had acquired the remake rights of Pulimurugan in Telugu.

Tomichan Mulakupadam’s Mulakupadam Films and Saraswathi Films will together be releasing the movie.

Telugu film industry has often been criticized by many top actors from Bollywood and other industries for their patriarchal way of functioning.

The industry has again got into a controversy after young actress Avika Gor has accused an young actor for sending her inappropriate messages on Whatsapp.

Tollywood’s younger generation actors took up an initiative last year to create harmony and better working atmosphere among the actors. Rana Daggubati and Allu Arjun have hosted regular parties and meetings for the very purpose.

Actress Avika Gor, known for her character Anandi from the popular TV serial Balika Vadhu were victim of the indifferent attitude shown by some younger generation actors.

According to reports, the actress was part of a WhatsApp group that comprised many younger generation actors. Recently the actress suddenly kicked out by the admin of the group after she had shamed one of them in the group who had sent her inappropriate messages.

The young Telugu actors include Sai Dharam Tej, Nikhil, Raj Tarun, Rakul Preet Singh, Varun Tej, Hebah Patel and many others. Avika Gor posted a screenshot of a chat history that she received from a young actor in a WhatsApp group. Apparently this did not go down well with some of the members of the group and the admin removed her from the group.

It is reported that actors like as Rakul Preet Singh, Sai Dharam Tej and Hebah Patel supported Avika. But some others like Swathi Reddy — who acted alongside the actor in question for a couple of films — stood by the accused.

The Tollywood industry has many times been accused of not being welcoming to new comers. Kabali actress Radhika Apte has openly said that Tollywood is the only industry she hates to work in India.

Avika Gor made her debut in Telugu films three years back with Uyyala Jumpala. The actress has now been sidelined after the issue. Reportedly some of the roles offered to her before the incident, have now been signed by some other actors.

Mohanlal in is currently shooting for Major Ravi’s upcoming movie 1971 Beyond the Borders. Reportedly, Mohanlal will play a double role in this movie.

1971 Beyond Borders is a war movie based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. Mohanlal will play the roles of Major Mahadevan and his son Major Sahadevan in this movie. Mohanlal will have two get ups for Major Mahadevan’s role.

This movie also starring Telugu actor Allu Sirish and Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh will focus on the various emotions and mental strains the soldiers undergo during a war period.

Shooting is currently happening in Suratgarh region in Rajasthan. This schedule will be completed by November 25th. Palakkad and Uganda are the other locations. The movie is scheduled to release on March 27 next year.

The movie also stars Renji Panicker, Saiju Kurup, Priyanka Chowdhary and Sudheer Karamana in other supporting roles. Sujith Vassudev is the cinematographer while Rahul Subramanian and Sidharth Vipin will be composing the music.

This big budget movie is produced by Haneef Ahmed under the banner Red Rose Creations.

Renjith Shankar announced his next movie and it is titled as Ramante Eden Thottam

Popular Mollywood director Renjith Shankar had announced his next project and it is titled as Ramante Eden Thottam.

The cast and crew details of the movie is not announced and he said that it will be updated later. Renjith Shankar said that it will be a romantic movie and it is his first attempt at that genre.

Even though he is a bit tensed about handling a new genre in his career, he is excited too because he wanted to try this for a long time. The flick will be bankrolled by the production house Dreams N Beyond, owned by Renjith Shankar and Actor Jayasurya.

It will be their 4th production venture as well after Punyalan Agarbathees, Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam and Pretham.

Pretham, which released in this year August was his previous movie and it was a horror film. The movie was a blockbuster success, which grossed around 15 crore from Kerala. Renjith Shankar had made his debut with the movie named Passenger with Sreenivasan and Dileep in the lead.

Later he had done movies like Arjunan Sakshi, Molly Aunty Rocks, Varsham etc as well apart from the above mentioned movies with Jayasurya in the lead. Earlier he had said that he wants to do a movie with Mohanlal and the screenplay for that movie is ready as well.

But it seems that we have to wait sometime more for a movie from Mohanlal- Renjith Shankar combo as Renjith Shankar had already announced his next.
