Antony Perumbavoor has been a long time close associate of Mohanlal. His journey from a car driver to Mohanlal’s trusted aide is very inspiring. It has been 28 years since Antony Perumbavoor joined with Mohanlal.

But not many know how Antony met the superstar of Malayalam cinema and how he became his close aide.

In a recent interview, Antony Perumbavoor shared his experiences with Mohanlal when he met for the time.

Antony Perumbavoor was asked by a friend to join as a driver in a shooting set. He reached the sets of the movie Pattana Pravesham. Mohanlal boarded his car and through the journey from the location to the hotel, Mohanlal enquired about Antony’s name and other details. For the next 22 odd days, Mohanlal travelled in Antony’s car till the shoot was over.

On the last day Antony asked Mohanlal whether he would remember him if they ever get a chance to meet next time, to which Mohanlal replied why are you asking like that.

After reaching his hometown, Antony told his friends about meeting superstar Mohanlal, but no one believed him. One day Mohanlal was shooting for Moonnam Mura in Ambalamugal. Antony took his friends with him to watch the shoot.

Much to the surprise of Antony, Mohanlal waived hands after seeing him in the crowd. The actor met all his friends and asked Antony about his well being. Mohanlal also asked for his car.

Till the shoot was over, Mohanlal travelled in Antony’s car. One day Mohanlal asked Antony to join him. That day in July 1988 changed Antony Perumbavoor’s life forever.

Today he is one of the most influential men in the Malayalam film industry. He looks after Mohanlal’s many businesses including the production house Aashiravad Cinemas and the subsidiary comapny Maxlab Entertainments.

Life has taken a full circle for Antony Perumbavoor. After producing his mentor in many blockbuster movies like Narasimham, Ravanaprabhu, Naran, Drishyam and more recently Oppam, he will be producing Pranav Mohanlal’s debut movie also. This movie directed by Jeethu Joseph is set to go on floors next year.

Mohanlal’s last release Pulimurugan is continuing its magical theatrical run slaying all pre existing box office records. The movie has now reached the 125 crore mark.

Mohanlal and director of the movie Vysakh has shared the news through posters. Pulimurugan earlier became the first Malayalam movie to enter the elite 100 crore club.

Written by Udhayakrishna, Pulimurugan deals about a man vs wild theme, where the title character played by Mohanlal is a wild hunter who hunts down man eating tigers.

Mohanlal’s terrific performance in the action sequences choreographed by Peter Hein is one of the major highlights of the movie. Pulimurugan was produced on a large canvas made on a budget of 25 crores. Tomichan Mulakupadam produced this movie under his banner Mulakupadam Films.

The movie was released on October 7th to a massive opening. Upon release, the movie triggered never before seen rush in theatres across all the release centres. It was released overseas in European countries and the Middle East region.

Pulimurugan also minted big bucks from the overseas also. It is among the top 10 highest grossing Indian movies in the UAE region.

It is also being dubbed in Telugu as Manyam Puli. The movie will be releasing on December 2nd.

Oppam to be dubbed in Tamil

Complete actor Mohanlal is having a dream year. The actor’s last two releases in Mollywood, Oppam and Pulimurugan were huge blockbusters. Oppam minted over 50 crores while Pulimurugan became the first movie to enter the 100 crore club from Mollywood.

Oppam released during the Onam season, saw master director Priyadarshan joining hands with Mohanlal after a short gap. The movie was both critically and commercially acclaimed.

Now the makers are releasing a dubbed version of this movie in Tamil. It is reported that Mohanlal himself will be dubbing for his character in the Tamil version.

Oppam was a crime thriller where Mohanlal played the role of Jayaraman, a blind man who is on run to protect a girl from a serial killer. National award winning Tamil actor Samuthirakani played the antagonist in this movie. The cat and mouse game between the two characters set in a thrilling mood worked for the movie.

Oppam also stars Vimala Raman, Nedumudi Venu, Renji Panicker, Chemban Vinod, Mamukoya, Manikuttan in other supporting roles.

Oppam had an extended theatrical run after the great initial response from the audience. The movie entered the 50 crore club, and was the fastest to the mark before Mohanlal’s next release Pulimurugan broke the record.

After the stupendous success of Pulimurugan, the movie is now being dubbed in Telugu as Manyam Puli. It is scheduled to release on Decemeber 2nd .

Jomonte Suvisheshangal gets a release date

Jomonte Suvisheshangal directed by senior director Sathyan Anthikkad is a much expected movie of Dulquer Salmaan. The movie’s release date has been confirmed. This family entertainer will release on Decemeber 16 as a Christmas release.

This is the first time Dulquer is working with Sathyan Anthikkad, a director known for his trademark style of movies that have always been welcomed by the family audience in Kerala.

Jomonte Suvisheshangal will focus on the father-son relationship in an affluent Christian family. Veteran actor Mukesh will be playing Dulquer’s father in the movie. This is also the first time Dulquer is working with Mukesh.

Shoot for the movie was recently wrapped up. In his Facebook post, Dulquer had written that the movie was an absolute learning experience that he will cherish forever.

Dulquer who enjoys a strong fan base among the youngsters, is expected to win over the family audience through this movie.

Jomonte Suvisheshangal is written by Dr Iqbal Kuttippuram who was earlier written superhit movies like Arabikatha, Diamond Necklace, Oru Indian Pranayakatha and Vikramadithyan.

Premam fame Anupama Parameswaran is playing the female lead in the movie. Kollywood actress Aishwarya Rajesh, Vinu Mohan, Innocent, Muthhumani, Manobala, Jacob Gregory and many others are acting in supporting roles in the movie.

We had earlier reported that Mammootty’s next movie will be directed by Ranjith titled as Puthan Panam. The movie is all set to go on floors by November 25. Ranjith will be joining hands with Mammootty after a long gap. Their previous collaboration was Kadal Kadannoru Mathukutty, which was a box office failure.

The director-actor duo have earlier made critically and commercially acclaimed movies like Kaiyyoppu, Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha, Pranchiyetan n the saint.

Mammootty was recently seen sporting a thick twirled moustache. Apparently this be his look in Puthan Panam.

Puthan Panam comes with the tagline ‘The New Indian Rupee’. The movie is said to deal with the current economic situation prevailing in the society.

Puthan will also star veteran actor Siddique, Sai Kumar, Ineya, Harish Kanaran, Renji Panicker, Nirmal Palazhi, Mamukoya, Swaraj and others in supporting roles.

Maari and Kashmora fame Om Prakash will be the cinematographer for this movie that will be shot in Kochi, Kasargod and Goa. Shabaaz Aman is the music director for Puthan Panam.

The movie is bankrolled by director Ranjith’s new production company 3 Color Cinemas, that also has actor Arun Narayanan and Mumbai based businessman Abraham Mathew as partners.

Mammootty recently wrapped up the shoot for his upcoming movie The Great Father directed by debutant Haneef Adeni. The movie, said to be a revenge thriller also stars Kollywood actors Arya, Shaam, Sneha, Malavika Mohanan and Mia George in prominent roles.

It is scheduled to release for this Christmas.

Two Rajinikanth(s) stun the audience during 2.0 first look launch event

The first look poster of the much expected 2.0 directed by Shankar was launched on Sunday in Mumbai. The grand event saw the presence of many top stars.

2.0 is the sequel to the all time blockbuster movie Enthiran. The movie stars Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in major roles. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is playing the antagonist in this movie.

During the launch event held in the Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was the chief guest. Producer/director Karan Johar hosted the event.

While hosting the event, Karan Johar invited Rajinikanth to the stage. Suddenly there was a virtual figure of the character Chitti on the stage. Then Rajinikanth also joined the two. Interestingly, Chitti answered some of the questions by Karan Johar.

The audience looked bewildered and were wondering what is happening. There was a scene in Enthiran where scientist Vaseekaran introduces his creation Chitti the robot to a large gathering who ask the robot many questions. Sunday’s event resembled this particular scene from the movie.
