Malavika Nair with Dileep in Georgettan’s Pooram

Dileep is currently shooting for Georgettan’s Pooram directed by K. Biju of Dr. Love fame.

The movie will deal with a father-son relationship set in a entertaining backdrop. Renji Panicker is playing Dileep’s father in the movie.

Anuraga Karikkin Vellam fame Rajisha Vijayan is playing the female lead in this movie. Vinay Forrt is playing the character Vavachan, one of the friends of Dileep’s character in the movie.

Malavika Nair is playing Vinay Forrt’s pair in the movie. She entered the film industry through the Mammootty starrer Karuthapakshikal, for which she won the State Award for best child actor. She recently made her debut as a lead actress through the movie Daffadhar.

Interestingly, Malavika has dubbed for a child artist’s voice in Dileep’s movie Don released back in 2006.
Georgettan’s Pooram is set in Trissur. Dileep will be using the Trissur slang throughout a movie the first time in his career.

Gopi Sunder will be composing music for this family entertainer. Screenplay for the film is written by Y. V. Rajesh.

Georgettan’s Pooram is produced by Arun Gosh under the banner Shivani Entertainments & Chandni Creations.

Mohanlal earlier this year announced the one news that his fans all around the world were waiting to here. His son Pranav Mohanlal is stepping into the film industry again after acting as a child actor.

Pranav Mohanlal will debut as a lead actor in Jeethu Joseph’s upcoming movie, an action thriller. This yet to be titled movie will be funded by Mohanlal’s own production company Aashiravad Cinemas.

In a recent interview, Mohanlal was asked about his son’s entry to the tinsel town, Mohanlal said that it was completely left to Pranav Mohanlal’s choice and the decision was taken by him.

Mohanlal recounted how he told his father that he wants to act in films. His father had asked him to complete his graduation, after that he could do whatever he liked. Mohanlal acted in his first movie Manjil Virinja Pookal after finishing his degree exams. Since then there has been no looking back for the actor throughout the great journey continues even today.

Mohanlal said that many people had earlier approached him for casting Pranav Mohanlal in their movies, but he left it to his son’s decision.

Pranav Mohanlal had earlier acted in a movie as a child artiste earlier and even won a State award for his performance in the movie. He was also the best actor in school.

Mohanlal had a word of advise for his son, just because he was Mohanlal’s son, that doesn’t mean he could act well. Pranav Mohanlal was also aware of that and that’s why he turned down all the offers that came to him.

But now after many years, he has finally nodded for a movie. Mohanlal said that Pranav Mohanlal is comfortable working with Jeethu Jospeh. The star kid has assisted Jeethu in two films, Papanasam and Life of Josutty.

Pranav Mohnalal’s debut movie is expected to go on floors by next year amid sky high expectations.

Amala Paul’s upcoming movie in Malayalam is the multi starrer Achayans with Jayaram, Unni Mukundan and Prakash Raj in the lead.

CPI(M) party MLA M Swaraj is the latest to criticise Mohanlal.

M Swaraj in his Facebook post has disparaged Mohanlal for his blog post. He has written, everyone has the right to express their opinions.

But a highly respected and influential person like Mohanlal should be very cautious before writing a blog. He should have tried to understand the situation before commenting.

Mohanlal has the right to act foolish roles only in movies. People will not approve that when he does the same offscreen.

Mohanlal has written that, he was writing the blog from a desert where he is currently shooting for his upcoming movie. Swaraj asked Mohanlal to come out of the desert and see for himself the hardships faced by the citizens.

Swaraj has written that he is not against the government’s decision to scrap the higher denomination notes, but against poor the planning and implementation by the government.

Earlier also Congress MLAs VT Balaraman and VD Satheesan criticised Mohanlal’s stand and for comparing people standing in queues in liquor shops to those people who are waiting outside banks and ATMs to withdraw their own money.

We had earlier reported that ace director Kamal will be making a biopic on the life of Malayalam’s late legendary writer Madhavikutty. The movie is titled as Aami. Aami was Madhavikutty’s pet name

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will be playing the role of Madhavikutty in this movie. The movie also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in a prominent role. Murali Gopy will be playing the role of Madhavikutty’s husband in the film. Many other new comers are also part of this biopic.

Director Kamal has earlier made a biopic on the life of JC Daniel with Prithviraj in the lead titled as Celluloid. The film was both critically and commercially acclaimed. Celluloid won the National award for the best feature film in Malayalam for the year 2013.

The director in a recent interview said that Vidya Balan was not his first choice. Kamal said, if the late actress Srividya was alive he would have Aami only with her. His next best choice was Vidya Balan. Eventhough the National award winning actress was a bit hesitant about acting in a South Indian movie, after hearing about the role she agreed to do the movie. The actress’ father is also a huge fan of Madhavikutty’s works.

There are four songs in the movie out of which two are in Hindi. Famous lyricist Gulzar will be writing the Hindi songs. Zakir Hussain’s brother Thoufeeq Quershi will be composing these songs.

Oscar award winner Resul Pookkutty is the sound designer for the movie. Aami is produced by P T Rafel. Malayalam songs are written by Rafeeq Ahmed and composed by Jayachandran.

The movie will go on floors from the 18th of next month. Shooting will happen in Kerala, Kolkata and Mumbai.

Rajamouli has expressed his wish to direct the legendary actor. Mohanlal was asked about the reports about that to joining together for a movie. The actor dismissed them as baseless rumours. A lot of factors need to be considered before even thinking of such a project.

He also said that there is no use in him or Rajamouli just wishing for a project. There is a huge risk involved in that, because the expectations will be immense when they both join together. Chances are very high that they will be blamed for spoiling a big project.

Mohanlal’s next release is Munthiri Vallikalal Thalirkkumbol directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob. He is currently shooting for Major Ravi’s war movie 1971: Beyond Borders. The actor has not committed any other projects after that.

Meanwhile Pulimurugan, his last release in Mollywood is continuing its glorious run and reached the 125 crore mark recently. Mohanlal and director Vysakh has shared the happy news with fans through Facebook posts.

Nivin Pauly’s Tamil film gets a title

We had earlier reported about Nivin Pauly’s upcoming Tamil movie directed by Gautham Ramachandran. This upcoming bilingual made in Tamil and Malayalam is the official remake of Kannada superhit Ulidavaru Kandanthe.

The movie was tentatively titled as Santa Maria, but now the title has been changed to Avargal. The Malayalam version will still have the title Santa Maria. Title for the Tamil verison was changed from Santa Maria to Avargal for tax exemption purposes.

Avargal has popular cinematographer/actor Natarajan Subramanian aka Natty and Rakshit Shetty playing the lead roles along with Nivin Pauly.

The movie also stars Ashok Selvan, Shraddha Srinath, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, Prakash Raj etc essaying pivotal characters.

This is Nivin Pauly’s third film after the bilingual Neram and a small part he played in the anthology Avial (Eli segment).

After the sensational success of Premam, the actor became hugely popular among the Tamil audience especially the youngsters. He has also signed for some other projects in Tamil, one under director Atlee’s debut production and another movie Suriya Balakrishna.

Rumours are also doing the rounds that Gautham Vasudev Menon is in talks with Nivin Pauly for the Tamil remake of the Telugu blockbuster Pelli Choopulu, the remake rights for which was acquired by the director recently.

Nivin Pauly’s next releases in Malayalam will be Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela which he is also producing and Sakhavu directed by Sidhartha Siva.

The actress has said that it is a herione centric movie with a very interesting character designed for her. But, she also said that she cannot give a word about when the movie will start rolling.
