Kalavoor Ravikumar who has earlier scripted movies like Oridathoru Puzhayund, Father’s day in a recent interview has said that the release of his new movie Kuttikalund Sookshikkuka is postponed due to the massive success of Pulimurugan.

Kuttikalund Sookshikkuka was originally scheduled to release in October, but now due to Pulimurugan’s success the movie will release only after November 15th.

The writer has said that, he has postponed his movie because of the respect he has for Mohanlal.

He also congratulates director Vysakh, scriptwriter Udhayakrishna and producer Tomichan Mulakupadam for the blockbuster success of Pulimurugan. He also had a special appreciation for Mohanlal for bringing back even the old age people to the theatres.

He said that it will be ideal for his movie to release two weeks after the Pulimurugan storm recedes.

The writer promised that Kuttikalund Sookshikkuka will be a thriller with lots of humour for the kids to enjoy.

Meanwhile Pulimurugan is continuing the dream run even after three weeks. The movie has already collected over 50 crores and has broken every single record in Mollywood box office.

Oppam, the Mohanlal starrer crime thriller written and directed by Priyadarshan had released here in this last Onam season and the film had become one of the all-time blockbusters in Mollywood.

The film had got decent reviews from all over from the very first day and got record breaking collections as well from all over.

It had made a place in the top 5 all-time highest grossers in Mollywood and become the member of the 50 crore club of Mollywood.

Now the film had completed 50 days run in 64 screens here in Kerala and that is sensational as well considering the box office storm created by Mohanlal’s latest release named Pulimurugan.

As per the reports coming in from the trade analysts in our industry, Oppam had grossed near 56 crores from its 49 days run all over the world.

The film had grossed near 40 crores from Kerala alone and earned more than 10 crore+ from GCC market. The rest of India market had contributed near 4 crore and markets like USA, Europe had contributed near 2 crore.

Collection from some areas are officially not yet arrived and we will update it once it comes from official sources.

The film is now moving towards the 60 crore mark in its worldwide run and will become the 3rd Mohanlal movie after Drishyam and Pulimurugan to achieve that feat.

After the massive success of Pulimurugan there were reports about Vysakh and Udhayakrishna joining hands with Mammootty for a movie.

But now, according to latest development Vysakh will not be the director for this movie. Ajai Vasudev who earlier made his debut with Mammootty starrer Rajadhiraja will be directing this movie.

Mammootty will be playing the role of a college professor in the movie. Mammootty last played the role of a college professor in Mazhayethum Munpe which was released way back in 1995.

Writer Udhayakrishna confirms that Mammootty will be playing a professor in the movie. It is a character that will totally use the superstar image of Mammootty.

Udhayakrishna-Sibi K Thomas were the script writers for Mammootty’s Rajadhiraja.

Udhayakrishna became an independent script writer with the all time blockbuster Pulimurugan which is still running with packed theatres.

This Mammootty starrer will be his second project as an independent script writer. Scripting for this new project is still in its final stages.

Shooting for the movie will start only by next year after Mammootty completes his earlier commitments.

There are also unconfirmed reports about Tomichan Mulakupadam producing this movie under his banner Mulakupadam films. But an official confirmation is still awaited.

Earlier there were news about Mammootty dropping the plans of acting in magnum opus Karnan.

Actor-writer P Sreekumar who had announced the project few months back now clarifies that all the news regarding Karnan are false.

He has stated that Mammootty has not dropped the plans and is indeed part of the project.

National award winning filmmaker Madhupal will be directing this movie.

P Sreekumar has said that the script is in its final stages and pre-production will start only after that. He has been working on the project for many years now.

Earlier there were reports that Mammootty did not want a clash between him and Prithviraj. It should be remembered that Prithviraj is also doing an epic movie based on the character of the historical figure, Karnan.

Prithviraj’s Karnan is directed by RS Vimal who earlier made his debut with the romantic blockbuster Ennu Ninte Moideen also starring Prithviraj as the lead.

Preproduction for Prithviraj’s Karnan has already started at the Ramoji Rao film city in Hyderabad. The movie is planned as a multilingual and will be made on a massive budget of 300 crores.

Now since there is an official confirmation about Mammootty’s Karnan from the writer itself, fans and common audience are eagerly waiting for the movie.

Mammootty meanwhile is shooting for The Great Father directed by debutant Haneef Adeni. The movie is produced by Prithviraj under his banner August Cinemas.

He also has some other projects lined up like Vamban directed by Ranjith and other movies with directors like Shyam Dhar, Akhil Paul and Shafi.

Oppam has now crossed a theatrical run of 50 days. The movie is still being screened in 64 theatres across Kerala.

Oppam was released during the Onam season along with Prithviraj starrer Oozham. Oppam is a crime thriller directed by master director Priyadarshan.

Oppam was a different attempt from Priyadarshan- Mohanlal combination. It the first time the celebrated duo was doing a thriller.

Santhanam has of late been doing hero centric roles. He recently started his new film with debutant Sethuraman on Friday in which he will be playing the lead role.

Santhanam will also start shooting for another project simultaneously. This movie will be directed by ace filmmaker Selvaraghavan. He had announced the project earlier in July.

Reports are in coming in that Selvaraghavan is planning to rope in Premam fame Sai Pallavi to pair opposite Santhanam. Sources confirm that talks are on with the actress and official confirmation will be made in two days time.

Sai Pallavi was earlier expected to make her debut with the Mani Ratnam movie Kaatru Veliyidai opposite Karthi. But the actress was later replaced with Aditi Rao Hydari as the director felt the latter was more suitable for the character.

Sai Pallavi’s last release was Kali in Mollywood with Dulquer Salmaan where her performance was critically appreciated.

Dhillukku Dhuddu was Santhanam’s last release as a hero. The movie was a horror comedy directed by Rambala. The film was a commercial success.

Santhanam- Selvaraghavan’s new project will not be a comedy but a romantic movie similar to the director’s previous movies. It is also reported that Selvaraghavan’s regular Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing music for this movie.

The director also said that he has a very close and intimate bonding with Biju Menon. He adds that Biju Menon is more like a brother to him.

Even after becoming an established and popular artist, the actor values friendship a lot said Jose Thomas.

According to close associates of Dulquer Salmaan, many projects from other industries are being planned with the actor.

According to these sources, makers from Bollywood and Kollywood are already in talks with the young superstar.

Dulquer Salmaan has already made a mark in Tamil cinema. He made his debut with the bilingual Vaayai Moodi Pesavum where he was paired opposite Nazriya Nazim.

But it was his next movie O Kadhal Kanmani with legendary director Mani Ratnam that earned him popularity among the Tamil audience.

Nivin Pauly’s new movie Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela has started shooting in Thrissur. The movie is directed by debutant Althaf Salim of Premam fame.

The movie will have two lead ladies. Ahaana Krishna who earlier made her debut with Rajeev Ravi directorial Njan Steve Lopez will playing one and the other will be played a new comer Aiswarya Lakshmi.

Director Althaf Salim has co-written the screenplay with Goerge Kora. The movie is said to be a humour based family entertainer.

Shoot started on 25 September after Nivin Pauly wrapped up his Tamil project and the first schedule of Sidhartha Siva movie.

Veteran actor Lal is said to be playing the role of Nivin Pauly’s father in the movie.

Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela is the second production venture by Nivin Pauly under the banner of Pauly Jr Pictures after the blockbuster Action Hero Biju.

Actor Nivin Pauly, who was busy with his Tamil project directed by Gautham Ramachandran, is back in Malayalam. He has started shooting for debutant Althaf Salim’sNjandukalude Naattil Oridavela,which he is also producing under the banner Pauly Jr. Pictures.

Althaf had played a brief role in Nivin Pauly’s Premam, as the heroine’s friend whom she slaps during a song sequence.

Nivin is having a great year with two big blockbusters under his kitty. Both his releases this year, Action Hero Biju and Jacobinte Swargarajyam were well received by the audience.

After the massive success of Premam in Tamil Nadu, Nivin Pauly is trying to make an impact in Kollywood. He has already signed two projects and there are talks of a third one with Vijay Sethupathy.

We had earlier reported that Vikram will be playing the lead in the Tamil remake of Hollywood movie Don’t Breathe.

Apparently, Vikram is undergoing a transformation to become more leaner to play the part which Stephen Lang played in the original. Vikram has started his specially prescribed diet two weeks ago.

In the original, Stephen Lang was playing a blind old man. Vikram has earlier acted as a blind man in Kaasi and Thandavam. He played both the characters with two contrasting body languages.

Kaasi was a naive, intimidated character whereas in Thandavam he played a blind man who is on a killing spree using echolocation for avenging his wife’s death. His performance in both the movies received rave appreciation.

The Tamil remake of Don’t Breathe will have some changes from the original to suit the sensibility of the Tamil audience. Sources inform that the movie will have Ooty or Kodaikanal as the backdrop.

There were reports that Irumugan director Aanand Shankar will be directing Vikram again in Don’t Breathe. But an official confirmation regarding this news is still awaited.

Vikram also has the sequel of blockbuster movie Saamy in his kitty. His last release Irumugan was a commercial success where he played a double role for the first time in his career.
