Oppam to speak Tamil soon and Kamal Haasan to play the lead in it ?

Oppam, the movie from Mohanlal-Priyadarshan team which released all over Kerala in this Onam season is now moving to the list of the biggest blockbusters here in Kerala. The film had already collected more than 12 crore from is 7 day run here in Kerala as per reports and set the first week collection record surpassing Premam record of 10.3 crore in 7 days.

Fabulous reviews and great appreciation is been pouring from all around for the movie and it is raining houseful shows here in Kerala. Outside Kerala too, the film is making history by creating waves in box office. Now, an unconfirmed report is coming in that Oppam will be soon remade to Tamil and Ulaga Nayakan Kamal Haasan will play the lead in it.

Kamal Haasan had watched the movie last day and he loved it. He said that Mohanlal’s performance in it as blind Jayaraman was just stunning and he don’t have enough words to praise this actor. He also called up Priyadarshan and appreciated him for his great work in the movie as a writer and director. Reports says that Priyadarshan himself will do the Tamil remake of the film and it will be produced by Suresh Balaji.

Earlier Kamal Haasan had remade Mohanlal’s Drishyam as well in to Tamil with the title Papanasham and Suresh Balaji produced that flick as well. Jeethu Joseph had directed both the Malayalam and Tamil version of Drishyam.

A Malayalam film also made its place in the list of movies which is considered for the selection of India’s official Oscar Entry this year. A committee headed by popular Film Maker Ketan Mehta will select the movie from the list of 32 Indian movies that has been chosen for consideration.

From Malayalam, there is only one film has been chosen to be a part of that list and it is Kadu Pookkunna Neram directed by Dr Biju. Kadu Pookkunna Neram will screen at Montreal International Film Festival at Canada as well. It will screen in the category named Focus on world, there.

Indrajith Sukumaran and Rima Kallingal had played the lead roles in this movie which has mostly shot inside the forest area. Most number of films are chosen to the list is from Marathi language. In 2014, Malayali female director Geethu Mohandas’s movie Liar’s Dice and in 2015, Marathi film court has been selected as India’s official Entry to Oscar Award. Mohanlal film Guru by Rajeev Anchal and Salim Kumar movie Adaminte Makan Abu by Salim Ahammad etc also got selection from Malayalam, years back.

Some years back, Dr Biju’s movie named Aakashathinte Niram was chosen to the list of movies considered for the academy awards. Kaadu Pookkunna Neram is produced by Sophia Paul under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters.

Mohanlal-Priyadarshan movie Oppam is going amazingly great in box office, as well as in the impact which it has been making. The film had made a great impact all over South India and we had already reported you that people like Super Rajinikanth, SS Rajamouli, Thala Ajith, Sunil Shetty etc had watched the movie.

The film is getting appreciation from all popular critics along with the common mass who are tirelessly praising the movie. Mohanlal’s performance in this flick was just fantabulous and Priyadarshan’s making was also amazing. The latest appreciation for this film had come from the students of BOFTA at Chennai.

The movie has been screened at the Blue Ocean Film and Television Academy at Chennai last evening and it has been screened for the students in the academy. After the show the students and officials had given great applause for Mohanlal’s performance and they also appreciated Samudrakkani. Ekambaram, the DOP of Oppam and Samudrakkani who played the villain in it was present there at the time of screening.

Dhananjayan Govind, the National Award Winning Writer, Film Producer & Distributor, Script Doctor & Founder of BOFTA Film Institute, had tweeted about the screening and the fabulous response got Oppam.

So this reunion will be special for them and reports says that it will start rolling from this December. Oppam, what can we say about the performance of this movie in Box office. Words are not enough to describe the craze for a Mohanlal movie here in Kerala if it gets a good word of mouth. There is a talk in our industry that if a Mohanlal movie gets a decent word of mouth from the public, them it will end up as one of the all-time blockbusters in Mollywood. No other artists or star here can do like him in box office performance.

The same thing repeating with Oppam. The flick had released on September 8 this year and got very good reports from its first show itself. From there the flick is cruising in box office and it seems unstoppable as well. It had broken the record of Premam and becomes the fastest Mollywood movie to gross 1crore from here.

Priyadarshan who had written and directed this movie had made a terrific comeback and Oppam is now moving to become the highest grosser of this year within no time.

Pulimurugan trailer had now crossed 1 Million views in YouTube and still counting. Earlier it had created history in Mollywood by becoming the most viewed trailer in 24 hour time here in Mollywood. But it was failed to break the record of Kali trailer which still holds the record of reaching 1 Million views in less time. Kali trailer had done it in 50 hours and Pulimurugan trailer took 76 hours to do it.
