Kerala Box Office : Oozham Collection Report 5 Days

Jeethu Joseph, the master director in Mollywood had come up with the revenge drama named Oozham in this Onam season and young super star Prithviraj Sukumaran had played the lead in the movie. The film was produced by Fine Tune Pictures and it had received decent reviews from the audience. Even though the burden of expectation had made a section of the audience disappointed, the film is doing good business in box office.

As per the latest collection report from the trade pandits in the industry, Oozham had grossed around 5.40 crore from its 5 days run here in Kerala. On its first day, it had grossed 1.16 crore from here and it is was a decent opening. On its second day, the collection witnessed drop and it was only 96 lakhs. But third day showed hike in figures as it had grossed around 1.13 crore from here on that day.

From 4th and 5th day together, it had grossed over 2.15 crore and thus it earned the total figure of 5.40 crore+ in its 5 day run. The overflow from the gigantic success of Oppam is also helping the movie and it had helped all other releases in this season.

The film had done good business in rest of India market as well and it will release in overseas as well, from today.

May be the biggest announcement of this year had come today. Yes, it is exciting and unbelievable. Young super star Pritiviraj Sukumaran to wear the director’s cap soon and it will be a film with Complete Actor Mohanlal in the lead. The film is titled Lucifer and it will be scripted by Murali Gopi and bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor.

Prithviraj himself announced the project through his official Facebook page toady. Now, it’s time for both Mohanlal and Prithviraj fans to celebrate as this was the much awaited combo they wanted to see on big screen. Even though there is no confirmation about Prithviraj acting in this movie, through this film the Universal Star and Young Super Star will unite for the first time for sure.

Lucifer was the project that announced 2 years before. It was Rajesh Pillai who was chosen to direct the movie based on the screenplay of Murali Gopi. Aashirvad Cinemas decided to produce it as well at that time. But unfortunately, Rajesh Pillai’s died this year due to liver disease and everyone thought that this project has been shelved after his death. Now Prithviraj had took up the project.

Prithviraj is a hardcore Mohanlal admirer and he had once said that he wish to make Mohanlal and Manju Warrier to act in his directorial debut. That is what happening now.

Oppam, the Mohanlal movie is continue to perform tremendously well in box office and the flick is making and breaking records each day in Kerala Box office. In rest of India too, the flick has been doing fantastic business and now a new feather had added to the cap of Oppam. The movie had now become the Mollywood movie which crossed the 10 crore mark in quick time.

Earlier, it was Nivin Pauly-Alphonse Puthren movie named Premam which had that record. Premam had grossed above 10.3 crores in its first 7 days. Oppam had crossed that magical 10 crore in just 6 day time. Early estimates told that the flick had raked in an amount near 10.7 crore from its 6 day run here in Kerala.

The film is doing extra ordinary business all over. On its 7th day as well, even after being a Thiruvonam day, the film had done stunning business and at centers like Ponnani and Anchal, they had to conduct special shows at midnight to accommodate the crowd. At Ponnani Aishwarya, the special show was houseful at 12 Am in the night.

At Anchal Varsha, the flick had played a houseful special show at 11 PM night as well. From Ernakulam multiplexes, the flick had grossed around 64 lakhs in just 7 days.

Trailer of Pulimurugan, the most awaited movie of this year from the Super Star Mohanlal had landed on the 10th September evening 6 PM. The trailer had got great reception from all over and had set a record in its 24 hour view count by beating record set by Mammootty’s Kasaba. Pulimurugan trailer had got 6 Lakh viewers in its first 24 hour time.

It also surpassed the 24 hour YouTube view count of the Malayalam teaser of Mohanlal’s Telugu film Janatha Garage as well. Then the big question in everyone’s mind was whether Pulimurugan trailer become the fastest Malayalam trailer to reach the 1 Million views in YouTube or not.

The record was in the hands of Kali trailer which reached 1 Million mark in 50 hours. But Pulimurugan failed to surpass Kali record and it reached the 1 Million Mark in 76 hours. But some online pages reported that Pulimurugan trailer holds the record of Fastest 1 million views in Mollywood. In fact the record is still in the hands of Kali trailer.

But Pulimurugan had made another record on the way. It had become the most liked Malayalam movie trailer at the time when it reached the 1 Million view mark.

The trailer of Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan had released last Saturday and it is trending in social media like a boss. The trailer had received great reception and appreciation from the viewers. The quality it has really mesmerized the viewers and each and every aspect of the trailer is been giving goosebumps for the film lovers and fans of Mohanlal.

But it has some negatives too. The main negative it has, is related to the very last shot in the trailer which shows a big tiger chasing a man. People is of the opinion that the graphics used in that portion was not came out in the desired manner. Some viewers had expressed this concern through their comments in the Facebook page of director Vysakh as well. As a reply to those, Vysakh said that the tiger shown in that scenes was real and not created through graphics. He asked the viewers to watch it in HD as well to feel the difference.

But we have to say that still there is something missing in that shot. May the tiger was real, but it looked like one created through graphics, because of the imperfection in the compositing of that sequence. Anyway, that scenes lacks the originality for sure.

It may come good on big screen hopefully and we are also aware of the fact that it will be cruel to expect a great quality in graphics from a Malayalam movie which has limited budget to spend on these things compared to other industries in India.
