Kerala Box Office : Pretham Collection Report 4 Days
Pretham, this horror comedy that came from Ranjith Sankar-Jayasurya team is going towards one of the biggest hits in Mollywood this year. The film which released on the 12th of August had got great reviews from the audience and critics, and giving a rock steady performance in box office too.
The Independence Day that came on Monday this year had given an extra holiday window for this movie and the first 4 day figure earned by the movie looks fabulous. As per the latest collection report that came from the trade analysts, Pretham had earned 3.8 crores from its 4 day run here in Kerala.
From its first two days, it had grossed around 1.75 crores. On Sunday it got around 90 lakhs and that made the weekend figure to touch 2.65 crore. But on Monday, it crossed 1 crore and the gross from Monday alone is 1.1 crore and that made it to reach the figure of 3.75 crores from 4 days run. The 4 day total collection from Ernakulam multiplexes had touched 30 lakhs and the exact figure from Multiplexes in 4 days is 30.51 lakhs. It gets more than 90% occupancy rate every day.
It seems that Jayasurya will score his first ever ‘Solo Super Hit’ with this movie, which is produced jointly by him and director Ranjith Sankar under the banner named Dreams N Beyond.
TA Razaq issue : Salim Kumar supports Mohanam Show 2016
Mohanam Show 2016, which was organized to honour Super Star Mohanlal had occurred at Calicut on 15th August. The people of Calicut along with Malayalam Cinema fraternity had organized the event to show their deep love and respect for Mohanlal and people like Mega Star Mammootty, Madhu, Jayaram and many popular directors, technicians, artists etc came there to honour the legend. Apart from that, it was a show organized to raise fund to help and support the artists in Malayalam Cinema who are suffering with health related issues and needs financial support for treatments.
It was intended to help people like TA Razak who was suffering with severe liver disease as well. But unfortunately, TA Razak had passed away on the very day of the show itself. Then came some like Ali Akbar and Vinayan, who alleged that the organisers of the show had tried to conceal the news of TA Razak’s death in order to continue with the show and Vinayan said that they must have cancelled the show after hearing the news of TA Razak’s death. Now Many people had come out supporting the show and popular actor Salim Kumar also came out and said that even if they had concealed the news of TA Razak’s death to continue with the show, it is for a good cause and they can’t be blamed for that.
That show was organized for many people like TA Razak who needs help. Everyone participated in the show came there to make it a big success and no one had taken any money as remuneration to take part in the show. All of them had come there to be a part of a good cause. Even the soul of TA Razak will be happy with what they had done to help people like him who needs help and support.
Salim Kumar says that, lot of effort, time and money spend to make that event happen and each and everyone who came there stood without selfishness and they had given their 100% with utmost sincerity to make the event a success. Death can come to anybody at any time. It is a fact. But if the show was cancelled because of that, then it would have affected many people who need help. Director Ranjith had lead the show there at Calicut.
Oru Mexican Aparatha is an upcoming Malayalam movie directed by Tom Emmatty. The film has Tovino Thomas in lead role. The film is produced by Anoop Kannan under the banner of his production house Anoop Kannan Productions. The song Kalippu Katta Kalippu featured in this promo video hints what the film is going to be.
Chiyaan Vikram wishes to direct a movie with Vijay in the lead
Chiyaan Vikram is now waiting for the release of his upcoming movie named Iru Mugan in which he is playing dual role. He is playing the hero and Villain in it. The Villain character he plays in the movie is a transgender character as well. Anand Shankar had directed this movie and the songs, trailer etc of the flick had already created great hype for the movie.
South Indian super actress Nayanthara and Nithya Menon is playing the female leads in this movie and Vikram is now busy with the promotional events for the movie. During one such event, he said to the program host that if he directs a movie, then it will be with Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay in the lead. He said that he also want to do a movie with Jayam Ravi.
Vikram had directed a song recently as a tribute to the real heroes who had saved Chennai from the floods. It was titled The Spirit Of Chennai. The song had got great reception from all over as well. That is why the program host asked him about his plans about directing a movie.

Kammatipaadam directed by Rajeev Ravi and scripted by P Balachandran was one of the most critically and commercially successful movies of this year. This big budget realistic movie had got great critical appreciation and become a good success at box office. Now, the DVD and VCD of the movie has been released and got tremendous reception from the film lovers.
All the DVD’s and VCD’s were sold out within days and they are going for a reprint of the same. Along with that, a happy news is coming for the fans and film lovers that the 4 hour version of the film will be out soon in the form of DVD.
The film is actually of 4 hour length. Due to censor rules and also to trim the movie, they had released the 2.45 hour edited version of the film in theatres. After the release of the movie, Rajeev Ravi had told that they are planning to release the full length movie, without any cuts and trimming, in the form of DVD. From that moment, everybody is waiting for the 4 hour length DVD of the movie.
Manorama will release the DVD of the flick very soon. Global United Media had produced this flick starring Dulquer Salmaan, Vinayakan, Manikandan etc in the lead roles.
Sirikkadhey promotional music video for Remo to release on August 18th
Remo is the upcoming Tamil romantic comedy movie scripted and directed by Bhagyaraj Kannan and produced by 24 AM Studios owned by RD Raja. The film will hit the screens on October 7 this year as a part of Pooja holidays celebrations. Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh playing the male and female lead in this movie respectively and the female getup of Sivakarthikeyan in this flick had helped the film to generate great hype and anticipation level.
Anirudh Ravichander tuned the songs for this movie and the Sirikkadhey Promotional music video for the movie, done by him will be released on the 18th of August. It will release on 18th August at 6 PM in the evening through the YouTube channel of Sony Music and it will be reached to the public through their twitter page.
The promotional music video was directed by Prabhu Radhakrishnan and he is the one who will direct Nivin Pauly in his next Tamil movie, which will be produced and scripted by RD Raja. It will be the 3rd production venture of 24 AM Studios.
Vignesh Sivan had written the lyrics for this promotional video and Swaroop Philip is the DOP of the music video. The music video will feature Sivakarthikeyan, Keerthy Suresh, Anirudh, Arjun kanungo, Srinidhi venkatesh, Inno genga, Mariia, Shashank vijay and Kebajeremiah etc as well. The English version of the music video will be released through Mtv one week later.
Sivakarthikeyan-Ponram team to join again after Rajni Murugan
A rumour is doing its round in Tamil film industry that Kollywood young star Sivakarthikeyan will join hands with director Ponram for a movie again. They had earlier come together for movies named Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajni Murugan, which were super successes at box office. Sri Divya played the female lead in Varuthappedatha Valibar Sangham and Sathya Raj also played an important role in that romantic comedy movie. Rajni Murugan had Keerthy Suresh as female lead and it was also a big box office success.
Reports says that this team’s upcoming project will be bankrolled by RD Raja under the banner of 24 AM Studios, who had bankrolled the upcoming Tamil movie starring Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh named Remo. Remo is the maiden venture of RD Raja as a producer under the banner of 24 AM Studios.
Bhagyaraj Kannan is the one who had written and directed Remo in which Sivakarthikeyan is sporting a female getup and that too of a nurse. The film is now in its post-production stage and the makers announced that it will grace the screens all over on the 7th of October this year, at the time of Pooja Holidays.
Sivakarthikeyan’s next project will also be produced by RD Raja and it will be a Mohan Raja movie in which Mollywood Young Star Fahad Fazil will play the antagonist as per reports. Anyway, if the news about Sivakarthikeyan-Ponram project is true, then it will be an exciting news for the fans of this young star.
Kerala Box Office : Pretham Collection Report 3 Days
Jayasurya starrer movie Pretham is really rocking in Kerala Box office now. This horror comedy scripted and directed by popular director Ranjith Sankar had already won the hearts of Malayalees and had become the clear winner among the August releases in Mollywood till now. Report saying that if it goes like this in Box office, it may well become the first solo Super hit or may be blockbuster in Jayasurya’s career.
Trade Analysts in Mollywood reports that the flick had earned around 2.65 crores from its first 3 days run here in Kerala. From two days it had got around 1.75 crore and on Sunday, which was its 3rd day, the film had got an amount close to 1 crore as well.
The great word of mouth is spreading for the movie and it is doing the trick for Pretham now. Today is also a holiday and the film is expected to make great business today as well. The working days will start from tomorrow and we have to wait and see how it fares on the working days at box office.
If it can do decent business on working days as well, we can say without any doubt that Pretham will go on to become the biggest solo hit in Jayasurya’s career. From Ernakulam multiplexes, the flick had earned 22 lakhs from 3 days.
