First look poster of Mammootty film The Great Father has been released

The upcoming movie of Mammootty which is scripted and directing by debutant Haneef Adeni is titled as The Great Father. The first look poster of the movie is also released today. Earlier there were rumors that the film is titled as My Dad David. This flick will be a family thriller in which Mega Star Mammootty will appear in a stylish look.

Popular Kollywood actress Sneha is making a comeback to Mollywood through this film by playing the wife character of Mammootty in this movie. Earlier Nayan Thara was considered to play the female lead in it as per reports. Young Super Star Prithvi Raj Sukumaran will bankroll this project under the banner of August Cinemas which is co-owned by Arya, Santhosh Sivan and Shaji Nadeshan along with Prithviraj.

Prithviraj is said to be playing an extended cameo in this movie as well. The film will start rolling from August 25th as per reports and the major locations of this movie will be Wagamon and Kochi. Thrissur is also said to be a location of this movie.

Baby Sara Arjun may play the daughter character of Mammootty in this movie. More details about the cast and crew of this big budget movie will be revealed later. Mammootty is now finishing up his Tamil movie named Peranbu.

Onam season is coming and along with theaters here in Mollywood, television channels also geared up to show some big films for the film lovers in Kerala. Asianet and Surya TV is coming up with some big movies in this season and will start the Telecast of the movies from the start of Onam Vacation in Kerala.

Asianet is telecasting the blockbuster movies like Ennu Ninte Moideen starring Prithviraj and Parvathy (directed by RS Vimal), Action Hero Biju starring Nivin Pauly and Anu Emmanuel (directed by Abrid Shine), Two Countries starring Dileep and Mamta Mohandas (directed by Shafi) etc and along with that it will be telecasting hit movies like Kammatipaadam and Kali as well. Both these films have Dulquer Salmaan in the lead and it was directed by Sameer Thahir and Rajeev Ravi respectively.

Surya TV will telecast blockbuster movie Charlie starring Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy in this Onam season. Martin Prakatt directed it. They will also telecast super hit movie like Paavada starring Prithviraj and Anoop Menon directed by G Marthandan and hit movies like Kasaba (Mammootty- Nithin Renji Panicker), Aadu Puliyattam (Jayaram- Kannan Thamarakkulam) etc as well.

Kunchacko Boban-Jayasurya starrer Boban Samuel movie named Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum will also be telecasted in Surya TV in this Onam season.

Hindi and Telugu version of Rajinikanth movie Kabali become big loss for distributors

Rajinikanth starrer movie named Kabali had done a great business all over the world. This Pa Ranjith movie was released on July 22 and it had raked in 220 crore+ even before its release by selling the distribution rights of the movie in India and overseas. At many places it had made good profit and at many places it brought loss to distributors. As per the latest reports that came in, Kabali had brought loss to the distributors of its Hindi and Telugu version.

The Hindi version of the film had got 35 crores as its distribution rights. Even though it had an opening day figure of 5 crores from the Hindi version, the mixed opinion it had got affected the collection of the movie. Later, the collection from the Hindi version went down and as per the latest report, it had brought crores of loss to the distributor.

Same is the case with the Telugu dubbed version of the movie as well. After the rush in the initial days, the craze for the movie had died out there. Trade analysts says that the distributors of the Telugu version also suffered huge loss just like the distributor of its Hindi version. But the Tamil version of the movie had done a great job all over the globe.

In Kerala too the film had done a great business by collecting over 16 crores and Mohanlal’s Aashirvad Cinemas who bought the distribution rights of this movie for 7.5 crore had already earned profit.

Earlier we had reported that master director Jeethu Joseph had plans to direct Mega Star Mammootty for the first time in his career. But at that time he said that it is only in the discussion stage and he don’t even discussed the story with Mammootty. But now, Jeethu Joseph himself revealed that he will do a project with Mammootty in the near future and he had already committed to do a movie with Mammootty.

The scripting of the movie is going on now. He also said that he will have project with Super Star Mohanlal as well. Drishyam directed by Jeethu Joseph with Mohanlal in the lead is still the biggest ever box office success in Mollywood and later it was remade into, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Tamil Remake is done by Jeethu himself with Kamal Haasan in the lead.

Jeethu Joseph first went to Mammootty with the screenplay of Drishyam. But Mammootty told him to wait for a year to do it. But Jeethu Joseph want to do it as quick as possible and he had roped in Universal Star Mohanlal in it and the rest is history.

After Drishyam, he had directed Life of Josootty with Dileep and Oozham with Prithviraj. Oozham will be the Onam release of Prithviraj this year. He said that he will have a Pritjhviraj movie and a Dileep-Kavya Madhavan movie as well along with Mammootty, Mohanlal projects. Jeethu Joseph is also writing a screenplay for a debutant named Ansar Khan for a movie with Biju Menon and Indrajith.

Ann Maria Kalippilaanu is one among the Malayalam movies that released on August 5th this year. The movie was directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas who had earlier given us the movie named Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu with Jayasurya in the lead.

Midhun Manuel Thomas and John Manthirichal together wrote the screenplay of this movie, which is bankrolled by Alice George under the banner named Goodwill Entertainments. The film had got decent reviews from all over and now going towards a hit status at box office as well.

After completing 10 days run here in Kerala, the film had got around 4 crore from box office here. It is a very good figure considering the star cast and low hype of the movie.

O-41 aka O-41* is a Malayalam movie written and directed by Senna Hegde. The film is of 91 minutes length and it is an account of the real people, real experiences and real life set in a real place named Kanhangad. The trailer of movie has been released few days back and now this trailer is getting nationwide attention. People like Anurag Kashyap from Bollywood, Pawan Kumar from Sandalwood (Lucia fame), Aashiq Abu, Rima Kallingal, Geethu Mohandas etc from Mollywood shared the trailer and told great opinion about it.

Mohanlal starrer Vismayam is still doing decent business here even through it witnessed great drop after the first weekend. The movie had also lost many screens as it was a bilingual movie. When other Malayalam movies released, this film was removed from many screens. But the film is doing decent at many centers now and getting some houseful shows on holidays and average occupancy on working days.

After completing 10 days at box office, the flick had earned 3.9 crore from here and it is a decent figure indeed for this movie. The Kerala rights of the film was bought for 1.25 crore and 22 lakhs was spent for print and publicity. Total 1.47 crore is the total amount spend by Maxlab owned by Mohanlal and Antony Perumbavoor to distribute the movie here. The film had already earned a distributor’s share near 1.5 crore.

Vismayam was scripted and directed by Chandra Sekhar Yeleti and the film had a Telugu and Tamil version as well along with the Malayalam version. Tamil version is Namadhu and Telugu version is titled as Manamantha. The flick had got superb reviews from all over and Mohanlal’s stunning performance as Sai Ram was the highlight of the movie.

The satellite right of the movie has been sold for a superb 6.8 crore and it was bought by Star Group.
