Mohanlal reveals his politics : Says he is not a part of any political parties

Mollywood superstar Mohanlal is always known for his simplicity and humility as a person. At the same time he is always there to express the voice of a common man in different social issue and he uses his blogs to communicate that to the public and to the ones who responsible for such a situation. But often his words were misinterpreted by some people, specially, the people who believes in political ideologies blindly.

They makes Mohanlal, the follower of their opposition party if Mohanlal says something in an issue in which they had their hands in it. Now, in an exclusive interview to Flash Movie Magazine of Kerala Kaumudi, Mohanlal reveals his political stand for the first time. He says that he do not want to be a member of any political party or dies not want to endorse any political ideologies, as he not have that much knowledge about any political ideologies they put forward. He asks then how he can work in a communist party, congress party or in BJP.

When Mohanlal was written the blog related to the Kiss of Love issue and moral policing, BJP supporters said that Mohanlal is a communist and that is why he is supporting the views of communist party in this matter. When Mohanlal said about the harsh realities related to the murder of T P Chandrashekharan, communist supporters said that Mohanlal is a supporter of Congress part and that is why his words are indirectly pointing towards Communist party.

Then came the blog related to the JNU issue. That time also his words were misinterpreted and he had been tagged this time as a BJP supporter. The fact of the matter is that he never intended to support any political parties and its ideologies but he only wanted to express the view of a common man after seeing all those incidents. He just tried to tell what has been going through the mind of an ordinary citizen in this country while all these happening around him.

Now, with his clear cut reply about his political stand, let’s hope that from now on people who going against him using the name of political ideologies will stop barking at him and let him do his duty as an actor and as a citizen in this country.

10 Kalpanakal : Popular film editor Don Max all set to direct his first film

Don Max, one of the most popular editors in south Indian film industry is all set to become a director. He had announced his project named 10 Kalpanakal and it will start rolling from this coming April 25th. The cast list of the film include Anoop Menon, Murali Gopi, Meera Jasmine, Thampi Antony, Joju George, Kaniha, Anumol etc. This flick will be produced by Jiji Anchani, Manu Padmanabhan Nair, Jacob Koeypuram and Biju Thoranathe. The screen play for this film is written by Sangeeth Jain and additional scripting for this flick is done by Soorej and Neerej.

This upcoming flick from Don Max will be a crime drama and Meera Jasmine is playing the role of a cop in this film. She will be playing a cop role for the first time in her career and it will be a stylish cop as per reports. Don Max had started his career as a trailer editor made his debut as independent movie editor through Shaji Kailas-Suresh Gopi team’s film The Tiger, which was a super success.

It was Don Max, (who is one among the few) who introduced spot editing to Malayalam cinema. Later he had done many popular Malayalam movie like Baba Kalyani, Chotta Mumbai, Hello, Ali Bhai, Roudram, Annan Thambi, Thalappvu, Drona, Best Actor, China Town, Kandahar, Chappa Kurishu, Karmayaodha, ABCD, monsoon Mangoes etc. He had also edited many popular Tamil films like Kuruvi, Sura,Aadhavan, Silambattam, Charulatha, Jilla etc as well. He had worked with director Shaji Kailas the most in Malayalam.

As we mentioned above, Meera Jasmine is playing her first police office character in her career. This year Malayalam cinema saw a terrific police officer character played by Nivin Pauly in Action Hero Biju. Megastar Mammootty is coming with another dynamic police officer named Rajan Zakaria through the film Kasaba. Jayasurya too coming with a Police character named Inspector Dawood Ibrahim through IDI. Manu Warrior had come up with Sreebala IPS in Rajesh Pillai Vettah as well and we have to wait and see how well Meera Jasmin’s maiden Cop role pans out.

Dulquer Salmaan starrer film named Kali, which is conceived by Sameer Thahir and produced by Hand Made Films owned by Sameer Thahir, Ashiq Usman and Shyju Khalid, has completed 7 days run in theaters here. The film told the story in a realistic way has Sai Pallavi playing the female lead opposite Dulquer Salmaan and artists like Chemban Vinod, Vinayakan and Soubin Shahir also playing important characters in this film. As per the latest reports about its box office business, the film had earned above 8 crore from 7 days of theater run.

The first seven days collection is superb when we look at it this way. But the fact remains that the collection is dropping all around as the film had raked in 5.75 cr+ in its first 3 days and later only managed to get around 2.25 crore from its run from day 4 to 7. First two days were holidays and then come the working days. The working days given only average status all around for the movie and the collection went down day by day.

The lack of family support is the reason for this drop and from this week there is all chance that the film will drop more as Dileep starrer comedy family film King Liar had released and getting positive response from all over. They had bought the rights to distribute Theri in association with Carnival motion pictures Private Limited for a record price of 5.60 crore beating the previous record set by Vikram-Shankar team’s I. Now, they had launched the Malayalam poster of the film Theri as well here.

One character he plays named Joseph Kuruvila is a Malayali as well. Vijay plays a cop role too in this movie and his character name is Vijay Kumar.

King Liar failed to break Kali first day collection

King Liar failed to break Kali first day collection

King Liar, the much anticipated Dileep-Madonna Sebastian starrer from Siddique-Lal team had released yesterday and opened to positive reviews all over. The film had released in 127 screen in Kerala and it was expected to break the first day collection of 2.33 crore by Dulquer Salmaan starrer Kali, which it had set last week. But as per the official report from the trade Pandits in Mollywood, the flick had failed to do so. It had only made around 1.5 crore from its opening day and that collection is way behind Dulquer Salmaan’s Kali.

Earlier in the day we have been informed from the team behind the film that the flick had grossed over 2.33 crore from Kerala and had broken Kali’s first day collection. But later in the evening, the trade guides confirmed the real box office figure of the movie is around 1.5 crore from Kerala.

So Dulquer Salmaan’s Kali remains on top as far as the openings of this summer releases till now are concerned. With the official collection report of King Liar, one thing also made clear that Dileep is failed to enter in to the 2 crore club of opening day collections in Malayalam cinema where only Mohanlal and Dulquar Salman able to reach twice till now.

King Liar getting great collection now with positive reports all around and the support of family audience making it a blockbuster success as per reports. Dileep again won gold at box office after the success of Two Countries which had entered the 50 crore club of Mollywood recently.

Prithviraj, the young super star who is going through the golden period of his career is all set to come up with his 3rd film of this year. The release date of his upcoming film named James and Alice has been confirmed. The flick which will mark the directorial debut of popular cinematographer Sujith Vasudev, will hit the screens all over on this coming April 29th. Prithviraj playing the character of James and Vedhika who is playing the female lead opposite him doing the role of Alice.

Prithviraj’s first release this year was Marthandan directorial flick Pavada, produced by Maniyan Pillai Raju. The film was a super hit which earned a total gross above 15 crore from Mollywood. The second film of his has came in this March and it was Jijo Antony Directorial film Darwinte Parinamam. It was produced by Prithviraj’s own August Cinemas.
