As we said yesterday and even before if a Mohanlal film gets an average word of mouth from the common public it will go on and on in box office and will break at least a handful of collection records on the way. That is his star power and impact and that is exactly why he is considered as the last word in box office here in Kerala. He is not just an actor but has a demi-God like status among his fans and the common mass of Kerala. He is not just the best in acting skills in our country but the best in the market as well as in Mollywood. Mohanlal is the ace of the cards and he is proving it again and again and is continuously making us wonder how he does it repeatedly.
His latest release Loham is receiving mixed responses and got only an above average review from people but that is more than enough for a Mohanlal film as we all know. The flick is continuing its dream run at screens across Kerala after it had created the record on its opening day with 2.19 crore. The second day showed a dip as it was a working day as well as the Onam celebration day at schools and colleges. But still it got over 1 crore in box office, around 1.30 crore to be precise. On its 3rd day that means yesterday it had maintained a steady collection by getting above 1.30 crore plus and made its total gross tally 4.72 crore.
As per reports today’s collection will be more than that of Saturday and Friday as Sunday is a holiday for all. There were continuous houseful shows reporting from all over Kerala. Even morning shows were completely sold out in most of the theatres.
One thing is sure that the film will gross over 6 crore on its opening weekend and that will be a new record in Mollywood as well, if it happens because the current record holder is Premam which has 4.85 crore in its first weekend.
Nazriya Nazim who has been taking a break from cinema after her marriage with Fahad Fazil is now thinking of a comeback. But it’s not confirmed yet with which project she is marking her re-entry to the silver screen. According to sources, Nazriya is presently hearing a lot of scripts but has not confirmed anything yet. There are also a lot of gossips related to her comeback with Fahad Fazil, her husband. But when enquired Fahad confirmed that it is not so and that whenever a good offer comes she will be acting.
Nazriya who started her career as an anchor was lifted to the role of a child artist and later shot up as an actress. Her first most successful movie was Neram which was simultaneously shot in Malayalam and Tamil. Her flexibility in acting and dubbing was very much seen from her performances in the movies Raja Rani, Vaayai Moodi Pesavum and Thirumanam Enum Nikkah. Being a child artist she did movies like Palunku in 2006, Pramani and Oru Naal Varum both in 2010 along with Mammootty and Mohanlal respectively.
The movie Neram was truly one of her best and it changed her status in the industry. Neram got her many awards and recognitions in both languages. Then she got her break in the movie Raja Rani opposite Arya where her all time best performance was witnessed by the audience. Later she was casted in the movie Naiyandi along with Dhanush. Nazriya’s continuous projects in Tamil and Malayalam made her schedule busy and then there was Ohm Shanthi Oshaana in 2014.
Ohm Shanthi Oshaana, being a female-centric movie gave her a strong role that she did full justice to and the male lead Nivin Pauly was seen in a supporting role. With the bilingual movie Vaayai Moodi Pesavum and Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram opposite Dulquer Salmaan also marked her talent in the industry. In 2014 she got the privilege to be a part of the blockbuster movie Bangalore Days directed by Anjali Menon. Bangalore Days along with Ohm Shanthi Oshaana got her the coveted Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress 2014 and other recognitions too.
This expressive and energetic actress who does her role with utmost dedication and passion has got this year’s Kerala State Best Actress Award which will surely fuel her decisions in future movies once she makes a come back. Yesterday was Nazriya- Fahad’s first wedding anniversary.
We wish her all the very best in her future ventures and wishes her and Fahad a very happy wedding anniversary.
Mammootty starrer film directed by Kamal titled Utopiayile Rajavu is on its way to grace the silver screens of Mollywood on 27th of August, Thursday, which is a very special day for Malayalees. It is special because it is the Uthradam day, just before the most auspicious Thiruvonam day for which Keralites are waiting for. Utopiayile Rajavu will not get a more perfect date other than this to be launched before Malayalees.
The flick has already raised great expectation among the film lovers with its so called unique storyline, the cast and crew of the film etc and everybody is waiting for a class film as well as a comeback from Mammootty after the recent let downs at box office.
The trailer of the film had released yesterday and got great reception from the viewers. It had trended well in Facebook and also got a great trailer review which again raised the expectation for the film. Now the promo song of the film also released today which is receiving wonderful response from the audience. The song which is composed by Ouseppachan and sung by Vaikom Vijayalakshmi and Jassie Gift is getting applause from music lovers. The song just seems like a curtain raiser to the film and the lyrics also points out that the film will tell something very unique to us with a satiric touch on it.
Anyway the hopes and anticipation is rising with each day and there is only 3 more days to go to see the arrival of the King from Utopia. A really hard box office battle awaits the film on that day with releases like Jamna Pyari starring Kunchacko Boban and Double Barrel which has a great multi star cast. The very next day Kunjiramayanam comes with a trusted name of Vineeth Sreenivasan in it which will also give a great competition for Uttopyayile Rajavu.
Mohanlal starrer Loham had already arrived and with its great box office run has become the first Onam winner. Now lets hope that Utopiayile Rajavu will follow up the success that Loham received in this season and will make the Uthradam day of Malayalees a special one.
Uppinu Pona Vazhiyethu Song From Utopiayile Rajavu
Music by Ouseppachan
Lyrics PS Rafeeque
Singers Vaikom Vijayalakshmi, Jassie Gift, Rahul R Nath
Directed by Kamal
Produced by Haseeb Haneef, Noushad Alathur
The second day collection report of the film Loham is arrived. As per reports which is coming from official sources the film had earned around 1.30 crore rupees from its second day and got an overall gross collection above 3.50 crore from Kerala alone. The share got by film from just two days is a whopping 1.60+ crore rupees which is really an earth shattering opening that other films can only dream of in Mollywood.
There is certainly a drop on the collection from the first day where it created record in Mollywood by collecting close to 2.20 crore rupees. But the trade guides says that the drop in collection is due to the fact that Friday was a working day here in Kerala and Onam celebrations have been taking place in Schools and colleges in the state. Because of that the noon show and matinee in many places showed a drop on the second day as the bulk of the audience usually occupies the noon show and matinee are mostly youngsters and students.
But by evening the film showed a hike in collection and audience number. On the very first day the multiplexes in Ernakulam had reported a whopping 9000 above number of peoples attendance for Loham and on the second day even after the drop in noon show and matinee the number of people attended the show of Loham has come above 6000. It was also a record indeed in the multiplexes in Ernakulam for a Malayalam film.
On Saturday the trade guides expects a steady collection around 1.20 crore and on Sunday there is all chance that the film will cross 1.50 crore on that day. Thus by the end of the weekend the film will amass a whopping 5-6 crore total gross from the screens in Kerala alone and will get a share above 3 crore rupees as well. The Outside Kerala collection is not available and if it also adds to this the film had already collected more than 4 crores from just two days of its run and already entered the super hit chart of this Onam Season.
Mohanlal film Loham which was released on Thursday had received mixed reviews from the film critics as well as positive ones mostly from the ordinary viewers of Mollywood films. That itself was enough for the film to do big at the box office as it had none other than Mohanlal as the male lead along with the super director and screenplay writer Ranjith behind the camera. The marketing strategies of Aashirvad Cinemas lead by Mohanlal and Antony Perumbavoor, the biggest production house in Mollywood, also made it the best in box office.
The huge release and the above average opinion from the common audience made it a record breaker from the very first day as it had took hold of the record of the highest collecting Malayalam film on its opening day and also created another record by earning 1 crore of share from its very first day. As per the trade guides the flick has already entered the hit chart and has made profit even before the release with satellite rights bought by Asianet and also through the advance from the theaters.
Today the state award winning film Ohm Shanthi Oshaana’s director Jude Antony Joseph posted a short review of Loham on his Facebook page. He says that the film is a good one and he really loved it. The performance of Mohanlal and Siddique was the highlight of the film and he also said that if you go without huge expectations it will make you happy and satisfied. It has good jokes and it will satisfy you as a spectator if you are ready to go for it without bearing the burden of expectations of this Mohanlal- Ranjith team’s movie to be like his previous mass action films, he continues
Now the film is getting accepted by all the sections of the society and is maintaining a steady collection in the box office. As per trade guides the flick has been creating waves in Kerala box office and it continues to show strong hold at box office on its second day even when it was a working day. The second day collection has not arrived yet but from unofficial sources we learned that the film had grossed around 1.50 crore in its second day from Kerala alone.
