Did Rajamouli copy Baahubali from God Of War ?

0

The magnum opus from S S Rajamouli Bahubali had created history at the Indian box office after releasing on the 10th of July this year. It had broken almost all existing records in the Indian box office and the only film in front of it was Aamir Khan’s PK which is the highest grosser ever in Indian cinema. But Bahubali now holds the record of the highest grossing movie in India if the collection only from India is considered, as it had amassed a whopping 500 crore from India alone. The great reviews it had got all around from the country helped it get to that feat and now it has been considered as one of the best Indian films ever made. The technical aspects are the main strength of the film as it had a mind blowing effect on the audience who watched the film and no one can forget the visuals from the film.

But now a negative is being heard about the film, for the first time. There has been a little controversy over the issue on art direction including Sabu Cyril and Manu Jagath. The story and specially the war scenes are the best of the lot when it comes to the film and now there is a news coming out that the war scenes of the film has been copied or inspired from a game named God Of War.

The war scenes specially between Baahubali and Bhalla Deva has great resemblances with the scenes in the film God Of War and Rajamouli earlier admitted that he has used some of the visuals from a PC game named action adventure God Of War. So it is clear that the scenes are not the original creation of SS Rajamouli. That game is based on Greek Mythology and is considered one of the best action adventure games and is very much popular as well.

Anyway everyone is waiting for the second part of the film to come out and it will release next year July or so. The filming will start coming September and everyone expects that the second part will have more action sequences than the first one.

Universal star Mohanlal is making merry at box office with his film Loham directed by Ranjith which is going tremendously well and breaking records in its collection status each day. The flick had received mixed reviews from critics as well as audience alike but that didn’t stop it from getting the biggest collection possible in this season or may be the biggest in this year for the first four days. It once again proved that Mohanlal is undoubtedly the biggest ever star Mollywood has ever seen and Loham underlines that fact again with its earth shattering box office collections. The flick had already entered the super hit status and earned crores of profit from just 4 days and the reason behind it is of course Mohanlal and Ranjith who is himself a star among directors in Mollywood and the team’s popularity is also unparalleled.

Many actors’ performance along with Mohanlal is being appreciated when talking about Loham including Siddique’s being one of the best comic performances, Balan’s performance, Abu Salim’s show of skills etc. But another one that caught the eyes of the audience is Niranjana Anoop who played the character of Mythri in this film. Niranjana is the granddaughter of Mullassery Rajagopal whose real life character was portrayed by Mohanlal as Mangalassery Neelakandan in Ranjith scripted I V Sasi directorial film Devasuram. Mullassery Rajagopal is Ranjith’s friend and that friendship paved the way for Niranjana to act in Loham and that too with Mohanlal.

She is still excited about the moments she shared on and off screen with Mohanlal and while the celebrations of Loham success is continuing she has joined her next film which is the debut of Super star Suresh Gopi’s son Gokul Suresh. The flick has titled as Muthugow in which Niranjana plays the female lead. Friday film will finance the above mentioned film.

Niranjana is a wonderful dancer too and has specialized in Kuchupudi. She has been a part of many dance programs by Manju Warrier and Shobana many times. Her character in Loham is a kind of naughty one and she is a plus one student in it and also a tennis player.

Loham broke Premam weekend record by collecting 6+ crore in 4 days

Loham is simply going amazing at the Kerala box office and there is no stopping the Mohanlal mania in Kerala. The flick released on 20th August Thursday had started off with mixed reviews but got off to an earth shattering opening by amassing close to 2.20 crore from Kerala. That was pure Mohanlal magic and nothing else as he only can pull off such a miraculous opening for a film which is just a dream for many multi star films released in Kerala. The second day show drop was natural because of the working day and Onam celebration programs at many places before the holidays started for schools and colleges. But that day it had earned around 1.30 crore and repeated the same on the next day which was Saturday as well.

Sunday again showed a tremendous rise in collection as it had amassed a figure around 1.50 crore and made the most of the holiday status. All together the film had collected an unbelievable figure of around 6.20 crore from Kerala alone and the all India collection is still not available. Some reports say that the film had totally grossed above 8.5 cr from collections it got from all over India. The Gulf release of the film is scheduled on August 27 and people are eagerly waiting there to watch Loham as well.

Premam had collected rupees 4.85 cr from its first weekend and Loham got 6.20 crore. But Loham got an extra day as it was released on a Thursday. But technically when we speak of weekend collections it include collections till Sunday night shows. On that ground Loham beat Premam by miles. But when it comes to the 4 day total gross both Premam and Loham are standing head to head with almost 6.20 crore gross. Reports says that Loham is slightly ahead of Premam but it has not been officially confirmed and we will update when it gets confirmed.

There is another record set by Loham is that it had got more than 1 crore rupees gross continuously for the first four days and equals Premam in that as well.

0

People had said that new generation came as a force in Mollywood and that it may become a problem for the reigning Big M’s of Mollywood. We saw the rising of some dynamic and unique young stars in the last few years. But the fact remains that Mohanlal and Mammootty are still the Kings of Mollywood when it comes to star value, fan following and the latest report on their remuneration shows the same fact as well. Mohanlal and Mammootty remains at the top of the remuneration charts of Mollywood.

We know that in fan following there is no one near them in Mollywood. In acting skills too they are the best in India. According to the latest report on the remuneration of the Mollywood stars Mohanlal is at the top and way ahead of everybody in matters relating to star value. The chart report points out that Mohanlal gets 3 crore for a film. Just behind him there is the other superstar of Mollywood, Mammootty with 2.5 crore. Mohanlal has great demand as he is the only one in Mollywood who can assure a profit for the finance even if it is a big budget film. Even the films of him with negative reviews is making the producers safe at box office with the huge initial pull his films gets and the record satellite price his film fetches from the TV channels.

Right behind Mohanlal and Mammootty there is popular actor Dileep who gets an amount of rupees 1.75 to 2 crore per film. And as per sources the young star Nivin Pauly has overtaken Prithviraj by successfully leaping to the 4th spot with 1 to 1.5 crore remuneration after his film Premam had become the second biggest hit in Mollywood. Premam ended its run just behind Mohanlal starrer Drishyam which is still at the top ruling quite comfortably.

Action King Suresh Gopi also touches the 1 cr club in remuneration charts as after the success of his character in Tamil film ‘I’ he demands rupees 1 cr per film. Prithviraj Sukumaran has 1 crore and above as remuneration and actors like Dulquer Salmaan, Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil gets around 60-80 lakhs as salary for a film. KS Chithra against Shreya Ghoshal ?

0

Kerala’s own sweet voice and the nightingale of Kerala K S Chithra has come out against Shreya Ghoshal. She is not against Shreya Ghoshal personally but against the music directors who is continuously giving chances and songs to her to sing in Malayalam films. Chithra says that we have many talented singers and that they have to be given a chance as well to sing in films. Today’s situation is that only Shreya Ghoshal is getting good songs and others are just working as mere backup singers if Shreya Ghoshal is not available.

Chithra also says that Malayalees always appreciates and give space to singers from other states and other languages if they are doing well here. But in other places that is not the case. They always give preference to their own singers and our singers only gets the low preference even if we sing better than their own singers. If we do not give chances and preference to our young and talented singers then who will give them an opportunity to show their skill, she continued.

Chithra says Shreya Ghoshal is a very talented singer and one of India’s best now but that does not mean our singers are bad and inferior to her. They have to be given a chance to prove themselves and thereby go forward to become great singers. Chithra is one of the singers who got the maximum number of State and National awards for singing in India and is considered as one of the finest female singers India has ever seen.

She says that the reality music shows are very good for upcoming young singers as it will work as a stage for practice and development for them. They can improve their skill by singing competitively on stage and also get wider exposure and also let the world know how talented they are. But Chithra is not in favour of making playback singing as a career option as there are a lot of singers here and it will not earn you the means to live a life. Chithra also said that for the past few years she hasn’t been celebrating Onam but she also said that it always gives her the memories about her childhood when she celebrated Onam to its fullest.

Earlier it was named as Solamante Koodaram but later it was changed and now a permanent title is not fixed for the movie. It is heard that the script written by A K Sajan for this film is quite an exciting one and that is why Mammootty decided to do it, pushing all his commitments back for this one. Nayanthara is the female lead in this film playing the wife role of Mammootty’s character.

Mammootty raising his voice for the rice farmers

Mammootty’s sensible question misinterpreting to create controversy

Mammootty is somehow landing in so many controversies nowadays and many of them just feels like they were scripted to trap him by some people who have something against him politically or otherwise. The recent one was a question by Mammootty or rather a comment by Mammootty when he was asked about the continuous hike in the cost of rice in our state. Mammootty asked that why all this clutter over the rice price hike and asked why no one is crying and making issues over the hike in the price of liquor.

Mammootty had said this while he was attending a meeting organized by CPI(M) of Kerala. The meeting was called Jaiva Karshaka Mahamaham and Mammootty’s comments there which we said just above had made a new controversy. People are asking why Mammootty had made such a comment and it is commonly being said that it is not at all a right way to comment on a thing like hike in rice price in the way he did.

But many are saying this because they did not understand what Mammootty really meant. His honest comment or question is being misinterpreted by some online media and people to create controversy. Mammootty said so because he wanted to say that if the price of rice had increased it will be good for the farmers who is cultivating rice. And it can also lead to the hike of production rate in our state. Making it a huge issue is unnecessary and those who are making this a big problem never tries to produce rice of their own. That is why we are depending on other states for rice as per the demand.

Mammootty said that when alcohol price is going on the higher side no one utters a word and they buy it and shows no concern with whatever it costs. Then why the hell should they be making the problem of the hike in the rice price a big one rather than trying to increase its production. They have to buy it with whatever it costs silently just like they buy liquor. If they have no problem in buying liquor with high rates then they have no rights to make problems about the rice price hike.

Swamy from Johny Walker is still alive, Kamal Gaur is not dead

0

Swamy, the villain character in Jayaraj directorial film Johny Walker which had released way back in 1990’s is still one of the best negative characters created in Mollywood. Renjith had created that role for Jayaraj opposite the lead played by Mammootty in that film. This iconic character was portrayed by Kamal Gaur. The long hair, tough looks and also the haunting background music which was associated with Swamy’s character had made him very popular during that time. Even though the film was not able to do much good at the box office the character played by Kamal Gaur had become a classic villain role. Later he acted in films like Highway and Janam but none of them became as popular as Swamy had become.

Then the actor had disappeared from films and no one had any clue about where he was or what he is doing. Then a news came out and spread that he was no more and at least some people believed it. But the fact stays true that he is not dead and he has acted in another Jayaraj film named Camel Safari in 2013 but no one had known about it. He had played a villain in that as well. Now Manu Jagath the art director of the Magnum opus film Baahubali had posted a photo with Kamal Gaur in his Facebook profile when he met him accidentally at Mandava in Rajasthan.

In fact the actor has been settled in Europe for almost 16 years and he has not made much public appearances also. He had made a directorial debut as well years ago with a film based on AIDS awareness Empathy. But most people were not aware of the fact that it was directed by him. He says that he had turned to a spiritual way of life now and it is that what attracts him now and he follows it.

Manu Jagath may have met him while the actor was undertaking such a spiritual journey through India. It makes us happy to know that he is still alive and now all can put a rest to the spreading of the fake news saying he isn’t.

0

Mohanlal’s Loham continues to break records at box office with huge collections and yesterday it broke another record. Loham had grossed over 50 lakhs from Ernakulam center alone and it is the fastest film to do so in Mollywood. The stats from Ernakulam city is not fully calculated but it is sure that it comes close to almost 60 lakhs from the 4 days of theatrical run at Ernakulam city premises.

As per the stats from the Kochi multiplexes the flick had registered one of the all-time best opening weekend collection by amassing rupees 44.55 lakhs from its 4 days run. The official confirmation will come soon regarding if it broke Premam’s weekend collection record at Multiplexes in Kochi which was 43-44 lakhs in its first weekend. It had started off with almost 52 shows in Kochi city altogether including multiplexes and other theaters in Kochi city area. That was also a record for a Malayalam film to have 52 shows in a single city premise alone.

The film had grossed over 14 lakhs from its first day from multiplexes at Ernakulam and later got steady collection above 9 lakhs from next two days. Yesterday it got close to 11 lakhs as it was a holiday and thus altogether it had grossed 43.55 lakhs from multiplexes at Kochi setting a new milestone there. Ernakulam Kavitha theater and other theaters in the city premises shows great occupancy in these 4 days with many houseful shows. The total weekend gross will be updated as soon as we get the official confirmation.

If we add the collection from multiplexes from Kochi to other theater collections from the same area it will surely come close to the 60 lakh mark and it is a record. If Kavitha theater gets a houseful show it will get 86850 rupees and as per reports from the 16 shows played in Kavitha in those 4 days of Loham’s theatrical run it had totally got above 10 lakhs. It seems like this Mohanlal movie is not slowing down in the case of breaking and setting new records.
