Director Alphonse Puthren got engaged today
Director Alphons Puthran got engaged today to Aleena Mary Antony who is the daughter of film producer Alwin Antony. The engagement ceremony took place at Ilamkulam Little Flower Church at Kochi. Only the close relatives of the Bride and Bride Groom were present at the ceremony at Church. Reception for friends and others were arranged at Panambilly Nagar Avanue center at 7 pm in the evening. The reception was organized by the family of the bride Aleena Mary John.
Mega star Mammootty and members from the cast or crew of the film Premam had took part in the reception. Actress Nazriya nazim who was the heroine of Alwin Antony’s production venture Om Shanti Oshana was also there at the reception to bless the couples. The marriage function will be on 22nd of this month at Aluva St. Dominic church

Rajinikanth coming as Chennai mafia don in his next named Kabali
The biggest superstar in India is all set to start his next film. The film will be directed by Ranjith and as per reports the flick has been titled as Kabali. The sources says that Rajinikanth will play the character of a mafia Don from Chennai named Kabaleeswaran. The story of the flick will revolve around the underworld activities in the Chennai city and its impact. According to the reports coming the film will be realistic as well as have mass elements for which the fans of Rajinikanth is waiting for.
Kabaleeswaran is from Mylapore, Chennai. He becomes an underworld king there and later he goes to Malaysia. The film is about the incidents around the above storyline. Bollywood actress Radhika Apte will play the female lead in this film. Actress Dhansika will play the role of the daughter of Rajinikanth. The team behind the film is all set to start filming on 17th of September and the main locations are Chennai and Malaysia. Santhosh Narayan will compose the music for this film which is the 159th film of the superstar.
Rajinikanth is not going through a very good patch in his career as his last two films did not do well at box office. One was an animation film named Kochadaiyan and another was a feature film named Lingaa. Kochadaiiyaan was directed by his own daughter Soundarya and Lingaa was conceived by K S Ravi Kumar. But both failed at the box office much to the dismay of his fans. Before that he had given a record breaking hit named Enthiran which was made by the showman Shankar. There is also news coming in that after this film named Kabali Rajinikanth will do the sequel of Enthiran directed by Shankar and it will have famous superstar as villain to Rajinikanth.
Anyway the Superstar needs a comeback now and a promising director like Ranjith can give that break for Rajinikanth to restore the losing crown with a class and mass thriller and the character Kabaleeswaran reportedly has the potential to become a milestone character in Rajnikanth’s career.
After Drishyam now Jeethu Joseph’s Memories to Kollywood
Successful Mollywood films were always remade in other Indian languages and specially in to Bollywood and Kollywood. If the film is too good then it will be remade into almost all South Indian languages and in Hindi as well. We saw it in the case of the epic Mohanlal starrer film named Manichithrathazhu to another epic Mohanlal starrer flick Drishyam by Jeethu Joseph. Drishyam is the latest example of this as it has been remade into Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil. In Tamil it was remade by the director of the original version, Jeethu Joseph. All the versions of the film had become huge successes and the Tamil version also has become one of the finest success of Kamal Haasan who played the lead in Tamil. Jeethu Joseph has also received great appreciation for his directorial and screenplay writing skills.
Now the latest news from the industry is that Jeethu Joseph’s another Mollywood success is also getting ready to be remade into Tamil. It is the Prithviraj starrer film Memories which was a super hit at box office in Kerala. Arivazhagan will conceive the Tamil remake of the film and Arulnidhi will play the lead character played by Prithviraj in Malayalam. The Tamil flick is not yet titled. They are planning to start the shooting of the film in this October. The success of Jeethu’s film in Kollywood has really inspired the thought of remaking his other films into Kollywood as well.
It will be financed by the popular production house who worked behind the films like Baahubali and Kanchana 2’ recently named Thenandal films. The director had told to the media that he is remaking it based on the tastes of Tamil audience but the soul of the original will be kept intact in the remake as well. He is now finalizing the heroine as well as the other cast and crew of the movie.
Memories had told the story of an alcoholic police officer named Sam who was forced to start investigating a series of murder happening in his state. The flick revolves around his mental conflicts as well. Hope this super hit repeat the success it had in Mollywood.
Now it’s official, Baahubali : The top grosser in India
The huge effect that was made by Baahubali in Indian cinema and specially in the box office records has been continuing and at last it has conquered the Indian Box office top spot from Aamir Khan starrer PK conceived by Master filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. The film which had released after huge anticipation and waiting had already made the headlines of the news with its budget which is the highest ever in India and also the visual effects in the film which made it stand up to Hollywood epic films that we saw over these years. After the release it continued its top position in the news headlines with great reviews and breaking each and every records in Indian cinema history, keeping the momentum, also proving that Bollywood does not rule Indian Cinema.
Baahubali was released in almost 4000 screens all over the world and was appreciated from every corner of its release. PK has collected above 450 crores from Indian market alone and was standing at the top like a boss. But Baahubali through its multi-lingual versions including south Indian languages and Hindi versions had made it reach above 500 crores till now and reached the top comfortably.
But still PK remains as the all time biggest hit in India as it still leads quite comfortably in its total gross from all around the world including the collection from India. PK had made almost 750 crore in total as its lifetime gross and Baahubali’s total gross till now not reached more than 600 crores. It doesn’t seem to be a possible task for Baahubali now to break that record as Telugu cinema doesn’t have as many followers as Hindi film has outside India and Aamir Khan is a way bigger star than Prabhas whose market value counts here.
Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan is now 3rd in Indian market after PK and Baahubali but in total gross Bajrangi Bhaijaan is on the 2nd spot behind PK. As we said before, due to the great market of Hindi films in international market Bajrang has made more outside collection than Baahubali.
Fake news spreading against Loham saying the censor copy leaked
Mohanlal’s Onam film Loham directed by Ranjith is all set to start its run at box office from this 20th of August and the film is already making waves all over Kerala with its posters showing Mohanlal in his manly avatar. And the teaser of the film which was released some days before has got stupendous reception from film lovers of Mollywood all across the world as it had crossed more than 4 lakhs views in YouTube creating a record in Mollywood. Mohanlal who holds most of the box office records of Mollywood is all set to create another one with Loham and the record created in YouTube just seems to be a beginning of that.
But the enthusiasm people show about Loham seems to have frustrated some people and they are now all out against degrading the film even before the release of the film. Fan war seems to be the root cause of the issue and now it is going to the extreme levels of degrading to pull down Loham. The latest rumour which is spreading is that the censor copy of the film has come online even before its release in theaters and many people are posting the screenshots of the film claiming that they are watching Loham censor copy at home. Their aim is to bring down the enthusiasm of people about the film which is now seems to be a sure bet at box office.
The screenshots they are posting looks fake and it has been almost clear that they took that screenshots from the teaser which was released 4 days back and made some edits on that screenshots. They had incorporated the water mark of censor copy and a part showing the time reel of the film in the screenshots and then started spreading it as Loham censor copy screen shots.
As per the talk from the industry, Loham is a film to watch out for and Ranjith- Mohanlal team is coming up with a fresh as well as fabulous one. Even people from film industry is waiting for the film to set fire on the silver screens. This trend of degrading a film even before the release seems to be an issue which we have to prevent. All the movie buffs out there, who are true fans of cinema just do not allow people who murder cinema with these type of nonsensical acts. Report whatever movie links which are released before a movie’s release. Let’s put an end to piracy, its our turn.

The flick Rajamma@Yahoo had started rolling with stars Kunchacko Boban and Asif Ali playing the lead roles and the flick is directed by the debutant filmmaker named Reghu Rama Varma. Reghu Rama Varma was one of the former associate of director Lal Jose. Actresses Anusree Nair and the NeeNa film fame Deepthi Sati is playing the female leads in this upcoming Mollywood flick.
The story of the film revolves around the two male leads of the film who are playing brothers in this film. One is Michael known as Rajamma and that character is played by Kunchacko Boban. The other character is named Vishnu Yohannan’ and is knows as Yahoo played by Asif Ali. Other artist in the film includes people like Mamukkoya, Renji Panicker, K P A C Lalitha and Suraj Venjaramoodu etc. They are all playing very important roles in this comedy film.
The screenplay and dialogues of the film is written by M Sindhuraj based on his own story as well. The cameraman of the film is S Kumar and Biji Pal is the music composer of the film. The flick is financed by three people namely Ramesh Nambiar, Babu Benny and Shine Augustine under their banner of MTM Well flow productions which is all set to make their mark in Mollywood with this film.
M Sindhuraj has also a Mohanlal film coming up which will be directed by Vellimoonga fame director Jibu Jacob. Kunchacko Boban has many projects to be released this year. In this Onam his Jamna Pyaari directed by Thomas Sebastian will hit the screens. He has two projects with director Rajesh Pillai. In one he will share screen space with Jayasurya and Manju warrier and it is not yet titled. In another Rajesh Pillai film named Motorcycle Diaries along with Nivin Pauly and Narein which will probably start next year.
There is also rumours that he will also be a part of Rajesh Pillai’s Mohanlal film Lucifer. Asif Ali is now completing Kohinoor conceived by Vinay Govind in which Asif Ali is playing the role of actor and financier as well. It is his first venture as a financer.
