Bhavana all set to act in a short film

Now-a-days short films also growing like a parallel industry to the feature films and it is not wrong to say that the better ideas and works are now found in these short films now than the feature films. Many people are coming forward to make a short film irrespective of their age and other things and the notion of short films are for newcomers is long gone. There is good production support coming in for short films as well from various corners of the industry. Many established people from film industry as well also coming forward to be a part of short films now-a-days.

Last day the short film by the director of the Bollywood success named Kahaani come out with a short film named Ahalya and got great applause from the viewers all around India. There are many celebrities like Alia Bhatt from Bollywood are also acts in short films and once Allu Arjun was also instrumental in the success of a short film.
In Mollywood too many actors and actresses are coming forward to be a part of short films and people like Aparna Nair and Aju Varghese are frequently does short films. Actor/director Nadirsha also got great applause for his performance in a recent short film named Burn My Body.

Now the latest on this list of celebrities who is going to a part of a short film is popular actress Bhavana and it will be the first time she is doing a short film. She will be seen in a short film named ‘Open Your Heart’ which will be directed by Vishnu G Raghav. The screenplay of the short film is written by the director along with actor Anu Mohan. Apart from Bhavana the other actors in this short film is popular actors such as Sai Kumar, Bindhu Panicker, Anu Mohan, Dinesh Panicker, Maya Vishwanadh, Anjali Nair, Aswathy Pillai, Roby David, D4 dance fame Ajas etc.

The technical side also very strong as the DOP is by Roby Raj who is the associate of Jomon T John, the music by Roby Abraham who earlier composed music for films like Theevram and You Too Brutus, Sound mixing by famous sound designer MR Raja Krishnan of Four Frames Studious Chennai and Editing by Appu Bhattathiri who is the editor of the upcoming film of Basil Joseph starring Vineeth Sreenivasan named Kunji Ramayanam.

Malayalam cinema industry is marred by the pirated copy issue from years and recently also it had made big problems in the industry with related to the censor copy issue of the film Premam. There had been many suggestion came from various angles to kill piracy such as wide release of the films as well as online release of films. Pirated print kills not only the films running in theaters it also washes away the Video CD or DVD industry as well.

When the master disc of a film releases through a popular company the people behind piracy uses that same print and uploads it in sites like torrent. People downloads the film from it and the income that film ought to get through the video CD or DVD business ends there and the film again falls to great loss after the loss from theaters.

By the suggestion of many industry decided to release films online and as a first step of that Rajiv Ravi directorial film Njan Steve Lopez starred by Farhan Fazil and Ahaana Krishna released online. The film was actually released in theaters last year but not well received at the box office. This flick has released online last day and the next day itself its pirated copy appeared in Torrent sites. Directors including Lal Jose has taken the initiative of online releasing. The online releasing was done by in association with popular online releasing partner Reel Monk and they had already filed a complaint in Anti-Piracy cell about the pirated print in Torrent.

This shows the access of piracy is to all levels of cinema and they cannot be controlled by just online release or wide release of a film. We had to take measures hard than that to stop this trend. Two days back a news came that the Lijo Jose Pellissery film Double Barrel is all set to become the first Malayalam film to do online release worldwide in this coming Onam on the same day of its theatrical release as well. But in the light of new developments we can’t much surety about that as well.

Mammootty coming again as advocate

Megastar Mammootty is now all set to play the role of an advocate again on silver screen. It will be the film which will be directed by A K Sajan and the film is not yet titled. The film will start its filming very soon. Along with Mammootty Nayanthara will also play a key role in this flick. Reportedly Nayanthara will play the role of Mammootty’s character’s wife. This movie will be Nayanthara’s 4th film with Mammootty after Thasakara Veeran, Rappakal, and Bhaskar The Rascal. Even though Thasakara Veeran was a failure at box office, the other two are successes at Box office.

In this flick Mammootty’s character name is Louis Pothen and Nayanthara plays Vasuki, his wife. Louis Pothen was not only an advocate he is a communist in his political belief too. This character has much similarity to Mammootty in real life as he is actually an advocate as well as communist follower in real life too. The film reportedly tells about the inter caste marriage between Louise pothen and Vasuki and the problems they have to face after the marriage. Other actors who will be working in the film is not yet decided. Mega star is currently finishing up Uttopyayile Rajavu helmed by veteran director Kamal which will be Mammootty’s Onam release this year.

Mammootty’s last advocate role was for VK Prakash directorial film Silence released in 2013 but was a failure at box office. But he had done many memorable advocate roles in films such as Oru Abhibhaashakante Case Diary and Narasimham in which he appeared in a guest role. Nayanthara is now busy with her Tamil projects and waiting for the release of her film with Chimbu titled as Ithu Namma Aalu. She also had films with Jeeva, Jayam Ravi and Vijay sethupathy which are Thirunaal, Thani Oruvan and Nanum Rowdy than respectively.

AK Sajan was associated with Mammootty 3 times before. First time in the film Dhruvam by Joshiey for which he wrote the story and dialogues. But his next two association with Mammootty ended up in failures and they are Aparichithan and Drona 2010 for which he wrote the script. It is for the first time in his career that he is going to direct a Mammootty film.

Baahubali 2 to restart its filming in this September

Baahubali- The Beginning is now cruising to all time record breaking box office status in Indian with almost 325 crores of rupees gross collection till now and in South India it had broke all existing box office records including the one set by Super Star Rajinikanth’s Enthiran directed by Shankar some years back. Enthiran was the highest grossing south Indian movie with 290 crore rupees of box office revenue but Baahubali broke the life time revenue made by Enthiran in just 9 days of its box office run and now eyeing the numero Uno spot at the Indian film box office history as well which is now hold by Aamir Khan starrer film PK with more than 700 crores of rupees total revenue from box office.

Baahubali –The beginning is the first part of the Baahubali series and the climax of the first part is made the audience eager to wait for its second and last part which is titled as Baahubali- The conclusion popularly known now as Baahubali 2. And as per the latest news from the team the shooting of the second part was 40% over and the shooting of the remaining part will kick start in this coming September and the release of the second part will be by next year middle just like Baahubali –The beginning had come to the theaters.

In the second part of Baahubali Anushka Shetty coming as Devasena who had to play an important role in it. We saw only a glimpse of her character in the first part and in the second part we can see the best part of her role and reportedly Anushka Shetty had done some thrilling fights as well for Baahubali-The conclusion.

Prabhas told to the media that the second part of the film too has great war scenes in it and it will be much better than the first part as well. The film have a huge budget of 250 crores and it is the biggest budget ever in India used to make a film. The second part will also have actors from the first part such as Rana Daggubati, Sathyaraj and Remay Krishnan etc along with Prabhas and Anushka Shetty.

Salman Khan starred latest flick Bajrangi Bhaijan is now on the top of the box office collections and going with great pace to catch with the collections of Baahubali and also to reach to the top of the box office rankings in the Indian cinema history. The film is said to be one of the best in this year and getting great critical acclaim along with the thundering box office response. Many people like Aamir Khan himself said that this was Salman Khan’s career best performance and he virtually moved the spectators in to tears with his great performance as well.

Now the interesting fact which is coming out that actually this film had reached to Salman Khan after it was turned down by Aamir Khan himself and also actors like Superstar Rajinikanth, Puneet Rajkumar and Allu Arjun from south. The screenplay of this film was written by K V Vijayendra Prasad who was actually the script writer of the magnum opus Baahubali as well and he is now at the joy of giving back to back blockbusters within the space of 10 days.

KV Vijayendra Prasad is the father of S S Rajamouli as well and said that he want to be a part of good cinema and the success of these films shows that good cinema will be accepted with both hands by the audience irrespective of the language in which it has been made.

The flick Bajrangi Bhaijan is first offered to Aamir Khan. Aamir really loved the screenplay but was committed to another project already and was busy with its shooting. So they went to Rajinikanth, Puneeth Rajkumar and Allu Arjun and all of them turned down the offer. Vijayendra Prasad said that he still not know why the stars from south turned it down.

And at last they went to Salman Khan who loved the script so much that he wanted to finance the film as well along with Rockline Venkitesh. Mr. Vijayendra Prasad says that Salman Khan was the perfect choice for the film as he is a person who is humanity personified and had done 100% justice to his character named Pawan aka Bajrangi Bhaijan.

Baahubali is a topic of discussion in China as well

Baahubali is making waves not only in India but also around the globe as well. Everybody is so excited to see another level of Indian film industry and Baahubali can stood up to any Hollywood epic film in terms of its quality of making and technical excellence. People now really believes that Indian cinema had really come of age as far as the technical brilliance is concerned as out cinema is always best when it comes to the aesthetic value and the quality of different stories. The abundant cultural varieties and ideas here in our country and the rush of great talents to do best in the creative field makes our film industry one of the best among all and probably the most prolific industry after Hollywood.

Now the success and wide acceptance of Bahubali triggered a discussion in China as well. In the famous Forbes website, Mr.Rob cain who writes about Indian an Chinese movies says that it is a source of discussion in China and they asks questions to themselves after watching the wide acceptance of Baahubali.

Rob Cain asks if the cultural variety and abundance of talent can help Indian films to grow in the creative field of cinema then why can’t a nation like China with more population and cultural varieties, financial resources as well as technical resources can’t grow big in this creative field and why they can’t still produce a film like Baahubali or a film that comes close to it. They had tried a lot to win that recognition all over the world but failed miserably and here in India a director like SS Rajamouli is doing it with ease.

The main reason seems to be their misunderstanding about what cinema really is. They gave much importance to technical sides and other sectors but excludes the value of natural creative spark and also the role of human skill and imagination which is the most integral part of this field. They have the most advanced technologies but lacks the proper imagination and creative spark to use it. Director acts like a dictator who runs the machineries like in a factory and the products come out also looks like mechanical one rather than a work of art.

Some of them finds out that their political stands regarding the development of artists and also the education system that is a kind of discouraging the creative talents which is undesirable to their political scenario etc making things worse for them. Their films only caters the regional viewers and that is why it does not get global appreciation.

Premam 50 days collection report

Premam back again in news and after sometimes it is a good news for the team behind it. For last few weeks only news coming out about Premam is about the piracy issue in which it had trapped and that affected it big time as well. The leaking of censor copy of the film had really made havoc in the Malayalam film industry and shaken many associations in the industry as well. That case is on the verge of its climax as the culprit has been identified and police are waiting for a little more evidence to come which will completely seal him.

The film had completed 50 days of its theatrical run and the collection report has out as well. It has grossed 38 crore rupees from Kerala alone and its total business had reportedly reached close to 60 crore rupees but the collection outsie Krala is not at all an official one. It a rumour that is going around through various fan pages that the flick had got 60 crores worldwide. The original collection is only available after the termination of the flick from the theaters and the figures they are saying the film has got from outside is defying logic as well.

As the unconfirmed report says it had broken the rest of India collection made by Bangalore Days and now Premam’s rest of India collection stands on 7.5 crore rupees. The worldwide gross of Premam outside India also reached almost 11 crore and thus it had amassed almost 57 crore rupees approximately.

It had already crossed the 50 crore total revenue made by Bangalore Days as well and now officially the second biggest hit in the industry. The only film that stands in front of Premam is Mohanlal starrer film directed by Jeethu Joseph named Drishyam. It had a total revenue more than 75 crores. In Kerala gross also Drishyam is way ahead than Premam with 44 crore and its rest of India gross is also above 10 crore rupees. The outside India gross of the film is above 11 crore and thus made above 66 crores from theater run alone. Premam had almost 57 crores from theater run now and need total 10 crore more to beat Drishyam in theater gross.

But task to beat Drishyam seems a distant chance as the Piracy had really affected the flick badly and now the one after other releases taking away many stations from Premam as well. And to collect 6 crore more from Kerala to beat Drishyam seems impossible now but the Premam team can be proud of themselves to reach where they are now even after many barriers were there before them to cross.

Actor Jishnu Raghavan is fighting hard against cancer

Everyone remember Jishnu Raghavan who came to Mollywood through the Kamal directorial flick named Nammal which was also one of the super hit campus films of Mollywood as well. It was a film which marked the debut of many actors such as Sidharth Bharathan, Vijeesh etc. Jishnu is the son of veteran Malayalam actor Raghavan who had acted in many Mollywood films as hero and in supporting role as well years back. After Nammal Jishnu had acted in a handful of films but unfortunately none of them given him a break or success which his debut film gave him. Then for some years he has been absent from film industry and no one quite really know where he had gone and why he has gone.

But it was due to the attack of cancer for the first time in his life and he fought against it and after the treatment he had come back to Mollywood with Ordinary conceived by Sugeeth starring Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Biju Menon etc in the main lead. Jishnu gave a strong performance in that film as well.

In last April much to the shock of the film lovers Jishnu posted in his Facebook profile that Cancer had again attacked him and he is going for the treatment once again. Now Jishnu posted in his Facebook page that he is going through the second round of the treatment and will come back strongly after fighting away the disease very soon. Jishnu also posted a latest photo of him too through his Facebook page. He is very hopeful of coming back to his acting career.

In that facebook post he also told that the things such as Lakshmitharu and Mullaatha which is spreading as a good cure for cancer that made his condition worse and he tells everyone to not to use it as well. He said he used such things because the popularity it got through social Media and also due to the persuading of his friends. But it had made his tumour worse than it earlier was.

Director Jude Antony Joseph commented on his post as well enquiring about his health and wishing him speedy recovery as well.
