Crucial arrest made in Premam issue

The most crucial turning point in Premam issue had come in last day as the police and Anti-Piracy cell had made an arrest yesterday which is said to be very crucial in the course of the investigation in this Premam piracy issue. Three students from Kollam district has been arrested by the police and Anti-Piracy cell for uploading the pirated print of Premam in internet. They had uploaded the film in a website named Kickass.com on June 22. The flick has been released all over on the 29th of May this year. Police said that the arrested students has a strong and crucial connection with the piracy lobby in Kerala and they had been brought to the Anti-piracy wing of the Crime Branch headquarters from Kollam for interrogation. Police said that more details are likely to get from them and more arrests will be made soon in this case.

Anti-Piracy cell confirmed that the print of the film had leaked even before its release and precisely before 19th of May. Anti-piracy cell also confirmed that the print has leaked out from the copy given to censor board and they had asked for the CD from the censor board for further investigation. Censor board had said that they will give the CD after getting permission from its headquarters in Mumbai.

The film showed before the censor board members on May 18th and they had suggested that the letters showing the statutory warning against Smoking and Drinking will be a bit more big. Then the print went to the studio in Trivandrum and after the edit it went back to the censor board. The next day they issued the censor certificate for the film as well. The water mark of censoring was added at a studio in Ernakulam and the editing of the film also took place there.

Police focusing more on Censor board and this studio at Ernakulam along with the one in Trivandrum where the statutory warning part was added to the film. The leaked print came bearing the water mark of a censor copy and that is why censor board is a primary suspect in this issue.

Premam issue seems to be on its ending note in last two days but the smoke and fire related it does not seems to be cooling down easily. Yesterday famous film producer Haseeb Haneef had posted in Facebook profile that Anwar Rasheed has to take all the responsibility of the Premam censor copy leaking issue as it has happened even before the release of the film. For that he do not have the right to accuse producers association or any other associations in Malayalam film industry.

If we go by logic there something of a good point in Haseeb Haneef  saying. But the timing of this expression of opinion was not right as this is a time we all have to stand behind Anwar Rasheed and kill this piracy issue or at least jolt the one who is behind this to save future films from their clutches.

The point in Haseed’s words that if a films print is leaked out even before it comes to theater the responsibility surely have to be taken by its producer as he is the master of that film and it was his responsibility to make sure that the print is safe and out from any kind of trouble. If a films print went out from a theater or after release he can blame the theater owners, or the producers or distributors association. But if it went out after its final edit, the financier had to take responsibility and have to admit the fact that it was his momentary carelessness that caused the problem.

But we said that Haseeb’s timing of expressing his views is not so well because now he is producing a film with Mammootty in the lead named Utopyayile Rajavu and Mammootty along with his son Dulquer Salmaan already declared their support to Anwar Rasheed through their Facebook pages. If the financer of a Mammootty film itself go against Anwar Rasheed then it will read in bad light and can cause discomfort to many people. Haseeb Haneef had financed films like Pathiramanal and God Own Country with Unni Mukundan and Fahad Fazil in the lead respectively.

Anupama Parameswaran had become a sensation among youth with success of her first film Premam and now she is in every Television channel and in social media discussions. It was the song that made her so popular. At first the Premam team had released the song starting as “Aluva Puzhayude therathu… arorumilla nerathu…” and it had become a viral hit among the audience.

Anupama was the main attraction in that song and in fact her curly long hair that caught the attention of everyone and director Alphons puthran had used it to maximum effect as well. Anupama was looking great in that hair hanging on her sides while walking and in that whole song her hair is given as much as importance to Anupama’s performance and even in a funny vein we can say that even Nivin Pauly was not get much impression in front of her deep and long hair.

In an interview in Kairali Television with John Brittas,  Anupama said that she will not cut her hair even if director Mani Ratnam tell her to do so for a film of his. Anupama said that she had took great care of it and it took long years to grow such long and curly hair. So she can’t even think of shaving it or cutting it for a film even if the offer comes from a big film maker like Mani Ratnam himself.

Anupama said that there are many alternatives to make it look like the head has been shaved and in films like Thirakkadha conceived by Ranjith, actress Priyamani played a character who at certain stage of the story had to appear with a clean shaved head. She had managed to do it using alternate methods without even cutting a single hair of her. So when the methods and technology is available then why she should cut her hair which makes her more beautiful and popular.

The talk show also has Vinay Fort, Shabareesh Varma and music director of the film Rajesh Murugesan as well and they had expressed their happiness and views about the success of Premam with Anchor John Brittas and the to the viewers.

The Premam piracy issue had become this hot by just one act from its producer Anwar Rasheed and that was his decision to quit from all the associations in our film industry of which he is a part of. Anwar Rasheed was a member of directors association named FEFKA, producers association and also in distributors association. The premam piracy issue was going cold and there was no proper action was taken to catch the guilty one and stop spreading the pirated print.

At that time Anwar Rasheed announced his decision to resign from all the above mentioned cinema associations of Mollywood and that really triggered the issue and it became hot with support flowing in for Anwar Rasheed from everywhere and social Media also took up the issue on its head it gave wide popularity. This made great pressure in political circles as well and the result is what we seeing now. Police and Anti-Piracy cell had made many raids all over Kerala and many arrests has been made. They had send strong messages to everyone who tries to sell the pirated print of the film.

Now the investigation is moving to a successful end as the one who is behind the upload will be caught soon and reports suggests that the culprit was identified by the police. The only thong remains is to find put from where it has been leaked out. Studios like Vismaya Max and Four Frames Chennai has been investigated and cleared by the law enforcement agencies and now suspicion going towards the crew of the film itself.

Anyway things are going well as far as the investigation is concerned but Anwar Rasheed is in no mood to cancel his decision of quitting from the associations. He said that nobody from the industry or from any association told him not to quit or cancel his decision. He quit from it to strengthen it not to destroy it as he said. He also told the media that he is not going to form any parallel association and he want to work independently. Earlier Anwar Rasheed had accused associations of not supporting and helping in this issue and that was the reason why he quit from it.

First ever 4K projection in Kerala that too for Baahubali

Kerala is going to witness the first ever 4K projection in its history of films and that will be for the Tamil version of the epic film in Indian cinema history named Baahubali which will come to screens near you on this July 10. The flick is touted as Indian biggest motion picture till now and it will be screened in 4K resolution and 64 channel Dolby Atmos sound in Ariesplex S L Theatrers at Trivandrum. The theater complex had inaugurated recently and it is one of the biggest in India as well with fantabulous projection and other technical facilities.

The film had made in Tamil and Telugu languages and in Kerala the film will be released across a huge number of theaters by the Global United Media and they are releasing the Tamil version of the epic film in Kerala. On the 27th of June this year they had arranged the audio launch of the film in Kochi with the cast and crew present there and at Kochi they had successfully unveiled the biggest or the largest poster ever made for a film and challenged the existing world record and found a place in the Limca Book of world record as well.

It has to be mentioned that it is the largest poster ever made in world and please don’t misunderstand that it is only the largest film poster. They had successfully made this task work under lots of pressure posed by the monsoon season.

Many scenes of the flick has been shot in Kerala as well and those are very important scenes in the film. The story of the film is weaved around a big waterfall and mountain area and the director S S Rajamouli said that they came in Kerala to shoot specifically because of the big waterfalls and the superb greenery here. Actor Prabhas said that they had put in a lot of hard work and energy to make this task looks easy to the eyes of the audience. The name of the central character is Shivudu and its about his life is that the story is all about.

After 5 terrible years of only failures mega star Mammootty is having a good year in 2015 till now. He had successes to his credit after a long time. The first one for him this year was Fireman helmed by Deepu Karunakaran and financed by Milan Jaleel of Galaxy films. It was a moderate success and gave Mammootty a sigh of relief from continuous failures. Then comes the much awaited blockbuster for him named Bhaskar The Rascal conceived by the hit maker of Mollywood, Mr.Siddique.

And now Mammootty is all set to come to you all with his upcoming flick named Acha Dhin which will be directed by Marthandan who was director of Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus which was released in 2013 and it was his debut film as well. Mega star Mammootty was the hero of his maiden film Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus and it was an average grosser at box office and this time Marthandan is coming to set that record straight and to give a super success along with Mammootty again and for Mammootty if it happens it will be his third consecutive hit this year.

In this film named Acha Dhin Mammootty is playing a character named Durga Prasad who had come from Jharkhand to Kerala and living here for long years (20 years to be precise) and film revolves around this character and some problems and events faced by him while he is at Kerala state. The movie will be told in a humorous way and the screenplay of the film is written by Vijeesh who had earlier wrote the script of Mammootty starrer film Emmanuel conceived by Lal Jose in 2013 which was also a moderate success. Late actor Ratheesh’s son Padmaraj Ratheesh plays the character who is always with the character played by Mammootty in this film. Padmaraj also played a prominent role Mammootty’s Fireman as well.

The star of Acha Dhin include Maniyanpillai Raju, Sudheer Karamana, Renji Panicker, P Balachander, Molly Kannamali, Kunjan, Anjali Aneesh etc. The female lead of this film will be a North Indian heroine and she is a Punjabi model named Manasi Sharma. The antagonist of the film will be played by telugu actor Kishore who is very popular here as well.

Vismaya Max is all clear in Premam piracy issue

The Premam piracy issue had given nightmares to everyone who is associated with the film and in the Malayalam film industry as well. Social media played a big part in this as many online pages and sites had become instrumental in spreading fake news about many people and many institutions as well. They just twisted the facts and also the word spoken by Anwar Rasheed about the details of the issue and it had negatively affected many people and technical institutions in our film industry. The people who were dragged in to this unnecessarily was mainly, Mohanlal, B Unnikrishnan and Priyadarshan. Theyu had been dragged in to this because of different misconceptions of the people as well as of the online medias.

Anwar Rasheed had said that technical works of Premam had took place in as much as 3-4 studios and it include Vismaya Max in Trivandrum and Four Frames in Chennai. Mohanlal’s name dragged in to this case because people thought that Mohanlal is still the owner of Vismaya Max. But everybody forgot the fact that Mohanlal had no stake in it now as he had sold it to aries group almost a year ago. B Unnikrishnan’s names dragged in to this as he is one of the major figure in the management of Aries Vismaya Max now.

Priyadarshan is the owner of Four Frames studio Chennai and that itself suggests that why he is been dragged in to this. Everybody misunderstood what Anwar Rasheed said and went after these above mentioned people without any logic and sense.  Yesterday police and Anti-Piracy cell made search and took evidence from Vismaya Max and from the computers there. They said that Vismaya Max is clean and there is no evidence that the print had leaked from there.

They also said that the post-production of the film had not took place there and at Vismaya Max there only took place the adding of statutory warning against smoking and alcohol to be shown in the flick. Later the investigation team also went to censor board and there also nothing can be found and reports says that print is not leaked from there as well. Four Frames Chennai has been cleared earlier as there took place only the mixing of the film.
