Bhaskar The Rascal Review

The one and only Vishu day release this year for Mollywood and hit the screen today and it was Bhaskar The Rascal which came with the tagline of Bhaskar the lovable rascal. The flick is conceived by veteran director Siddique and as you all know Mega star Mammootty and south Indian actress Nayanthara is playing the male and female lead of this film respectively. Popular child artists such as Master Sanoop and Baby Anikha also doing key roles in this family entertainer.

And when it comes to the story of this film it is one which tried to tell us the affection and bonding between a father named Bhaskar and his son Aadhi. Bhaskar does not have much manners and he is very short tempered too. That causes Aadhi to dislike his father a bit. At that time Hima played by Nayanthara and her daughter Shivani played by Baby Anikha comes to the life of Bhaskar and his son played by Mammootty and Master Sanoop who is popular for his acting in the film Philips And Monkey Pen.

Bhaskar’s son Aadhi loves to have Hima as his mother and Shivani loves to have Bhaskar as her father. As a result both children tried many ways to unite Bhaskar and Hima who were not in good terms with each other. Suddenly as a twist Hima’s ex-husband comes to her life with a hidden past story and motive and there the story takes a turn.  The film has all the elements for the die-hard fans of Mammootty as Siddique as a director done well there as made it colorful.

The film has a very entertaining first half with trademark Siddique comedies and some fine performances by Mammootty and Saju Navodaya. The songs were equally good and made the first half a brilliant one. But that pace and impact was not present much in the second half. When we consider the film as a whole it is a decent entertainer and there is one condition is that one have to go without any expectations. The film will be treat for the families which will give them sure relaxation in this summer vacation season and it will be a celebration for Mammootty fans as well. It’s not a class film to make pin point analysis but a decent entertaining one which will not disappoint the viewer

Director : Siddique
Release Date : 15/4/2015
Cast : Mammootty, Nayanthara, Master Sanoop, Baby Anikha
