Nivin Pauly’s character in the Malayalam version will be done by Bobby Simha in the Tamil remake.

The other one who was retained from the original Malayalam version of the film by the makers of Tamil version is Gopi Sundar, the music director of the film.  The one who is going to conceive the kollywood version of the film is Bhaskar who gave successful film like Bommarillu. Production team had plans to make the film both in Tamil and Telugu language and now reports are coming in that they decided to opt different directors for different languages unlike they are planned to create it with the same director in Tamil and telugu.

There is also another change from the Malayalam version is that the plot background of the film will be set in Singapore rather than in banglore. The film will be financed by PVP films and Prasad Potluri. The mollywood version was a trendsetting success directed by financed by Anwar Rasheed along with weekend blockbusters and it had grossed around 35 crore rupees from the box office and touted as the second biggest success in mollywood after the mighty Drishyam starred Mohanlal.

We can tell about many films which can be included in the list of good films or may be brilliant films. But there is only a few to be listed as classics and Devasuram is one among them. It was a film which redefined the term called Mass Hero and the credit goes to Mohanlal for portraying the protagonist as deep and perfect as one could have. Mohanlal is not just been the greatest actor our country has ever seen but also the biggest star Mollywood has ever produced as well. He can be a class act and mass phenomenon at the same time. Devasuram is an example of such an act by him.

Mangalassery Neelakandan has become an epic hero in Mollywood and till today there is no character has born to match Mangalassery Neelakandan in Mollywood history. That was the incredible impact of that character. The epic film was conceived by the Master director of Mollywood, I V Sasi and written by one of the best screen writer ever in mollywood, Ranjith. The film is financed by V B K Menon under Anugraha cine arts and distributed by Anugraha release on 14th April 1993. Jayanan Vincent was the cinematographer of the film and M G Radhakrishanan’s music and Gireesh Puthanchery’s lyrics were unbelievably awesome and the songs became evergreen in mollywood.

The background music was composed by S P Venkitesh and editing section was headed by K Narayanan. The star cast of the film consists of Mohanlal, nedumudi venu, Napolean, Innocent, Revathy, Sreeraman, Cochin haneefa, Maniyan pillai raju, Augustine,Janandhanan, Oduvil unnikrishanan, ramu, chithra, sankaradi, Bheeman Reghu etc. The main theme of the film is the rivalry between Mangalasserry Neelakandan played Mohanlal and Mundakkal Sekharan played by Napolean.

Ranjith created the character of Mangalasseery Neelakandan from the real life character named Mullassery Rajagopal. The film has become one of the biggest ever hit in Mollywood and it has been one of the biggest hits of Both I V Sasi’s and Mohanlal’s career. In 2001, a sequel to this film had come out named Ravana Prabhu which was the directorial debut of Renjith and that was too a great success at Box office. The dialogues of Mohanlal in this film had achieved cult status in Kerala and the film was also got great critical appreciation for its intensity in telling the story and the way it was presented.

Mollywood treads its weary way to big loss in 2015

0

The year 2015 has begun with great hopes and expectation for Mollywood. There are plenty of releases from the right go and there are many hopeful films and also much awaited films. But things were not went according to the hope and now Malayalam cinema industry is going through a very lean patch and may be called one of the worst patch ever to say the least. Total 33 films were hit the screens and 80 crore loss of revenue was the end result.

We can sum it up the exploits of Mollywood this year (till now) like this way. The year 2015 has begun giving us many films but neither of them can be able create any impact at box office and films were bombed at the box office and that too in a never seen before manner. According to reports from January to March half total 33 films have released. But apart from two or three movies like picket 43 and Fireman all others never seem to be on its way to ring the money bells at box office.

When we consider the total money flowed into making these films and their returns from box office we can estimate a whopping 80 crore rupees loss just from 2 months of 2015. When we consider the month wise calculation, 14 films were released in the month of January and 13 films in February and 6 were in March including films which are dubbed to Malayalam from other languages.

But among these films only Prithviraj starrer Major Ravi film Picket 43 and Mammootty starrer Deepu Karunakaran film Fireman seems to had made any sort of impact at the box office and that too was not enough to become a super hit though. Both films somehow managed to cross the line from being a flop to an average grosser or an average hit status.

We can debate on many reasons such as the influence of  Television channels to the disinterest to accept new technologies for cutting down the coast of the film. But if it goes like this way Mollywood will fall to the biggest hole of crisis which we can’t think of even in our wildest of dreams.
