Vikram coming in dual role
According to the reports coming in from kollywood sources, Chiyaan vikram is signing film after film after the giga success of his last released venture ‘I’ conceived by Shankar. Vikram has given almost his 3 years for making ‘I’ and now he is very busy with back to back schedules of various films. Vikram is now in the last schedule of vijay Milton directorial road thriller 10 Ennarudhukkullai and after completing that project there is news came earlier that he may join the sets of Gautham menon’s next film titled Dhruva Nachitharam which was earlier Gautham Menon planned to do with Suriya in the lead.
And the reports suggests the inclusion of another one in the list of films Vikram had signed which will be directed by Anand Shankar and the film is titled as Marma Manithan (Mystery Man) as of now though it is not officially confirmed. There are lot of rumors about the film is doing its round in Facebook and other social media pages and websites. Even these rumours tell every details of the film even though there is no official word from anyone related with the film had come out to the media or public. The rumours tell that actresses like Kajal Agarwal and Priya Anand will play the female lead roles and Vikram will do dual characters in the movie.
The film will be financed by famous producer in kollywood Kalaipuli S Thanu and it will be an out and out action thriller much to the delight of the fans of Vikram if it happens. Vikram is always fond of action roles and he is a master at doing various kinds of action roles and we have seen his talent in action in films like Anniyan and ‘I made by Shankar.
Anand Shankar is much appreciated for his first film named Arima Nambi which was a critically and commercially successful film starring Vikram Prabhu and Priya Anand in lead roles. The filming of Marma Manithan is expected to star by the end of April 2015 and according to the latest news this will be Vikram’s next one after he completes the Vijay Milton flick which he is busy with currently.
Ranjith Sankar coming with Made for each other
Director Ranjith Sankar who is fresh with two back to back successes is said to be all set to come this year with a movie titled ‘Made for each other’ and our sources close to him says that he is planning to start the work without much delay. Even though no other details about the film such as the lead actor and actress , the main members of the crew and also about the production team are available, the title of the film is almost a confirmed one as sources close to Ranjith Sankar said. Ranjith Sankar had now emerged as one of the dependable directors of Mollywood whose films at least possess a minimum guarantee and the spectators can watch his films with their families with great trust. Ranjith Sankar had begun his career as a film maker through the film Passenger starred Sreenivasan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Dileep and Mamta Mohandas in the lead. 100 days of love conceived by debutant Jenuse Muhammad(director Kamal’s son) and starred Dulqear Salmaan, Shekhar Menon and Nithya Menon in the lead was released yesterday and getting good reports from all over as feel good romantic film for the masses. The people who love romantic films will love this simple tale of love for sure.
Fans of romantic films already accepted 100 days of love with both hands and according to the box office report of the opening day of the film, it has collected Rs 1.22 crore from theaters. It is a very good opening considering it as a simple film and also the exam season. A young actor can proud of this opening day collection to his film and Dulquer Salmaan proved once again that he has a hold over youngsters with his style and lazy looks.
Not only collections from the theaters shows us the status of the film. But also at many multiplexes the number of shows of the film had increased because of the heavy rush in the opening day and also due to the impressive word of mouth.Multiplexes at Ernakulam and Angamaly increased the number shows in the second day that means today due to increase in the number people and also booking status at many multiplexes were superb. Why still there is not a Mohanlal film, Lal Jose explains
Lal Jose is considered as one of the best directors which Mollywood have now. He is experienced, talented and also a dependable director who always gives us films with at least minimum guarantee. He started his film career with the super hit Oru Maravathoorkanavu starring Mammootty and later gone on to make many super hits and blockbusters and his close friend and popular actor Dileep was the one who acted in most number of Lal Jose films and they had indeed a great partnership as an actor-director duo.
He also did films with actors like Suresh Gopi, Prithviraj, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, Salim Kumar, Kunchacko Boban etc. But he never did a film with the Complete actor in Indian film industry and Mollywood’s own Universal star Mohanlal who said to be predicted that one day Lal Jose will become a great director of Mollywood in his very early stages as an assistant director under director Kamal and when he is working with Mohanlal in a film named Vishnu Lokam.
During the shoot of Vishnu Lokam when director Sibi Malayil came to visit Mohanlal on the set he surprised to hear the calling of the name Lalu on the sets. So he asked Mohanlal that who is the other Lalu here apart from Mohanlal, then Mohanlal pointed towards the assistant director of Kamal, named Lal Jose and said that “Watch out for this young man, he will become one of the best directors in mollywood in the coming future” and it became true. This interesting incident was told by both Sibi Malayil and Lal Jose in various interviews.
So when Lal Jose was asked by the media about the reason of not doing any films with arguably the best actor India has ever seen, that too our own actor, Lal Jose replied that for making such Mohanlal had to believe me first. He said that there will be a lot of expectation or can say that he have to carry the biggest burden of expectation which may more than all the expectations he carried throughout his career if he decides to join hands with Mohanlal because he is such a legend actor and a star with out of the world star value.
If anything bad happens or in other words if the film don’t raised to the level of expectation, then Mohanlal has nothing to lose, just a film in the shortlist of his flops. But that may very well end the career of Lal Jose as all the blame rightfully will fall on him. Earlier they had planned a film together in which Prithvi raj awas also a part named Cousins, but due to some problems with the story that project got shelved even before beginning.
National film awards: 6 films to fight it out for Mollywood at last
Everyone is eagerly waiting for the announcement of National films awards of 2014-2015 and Mollywood also has great hopes this time. 15 mollywoods films were selected by the regional jury to screen before the central jury and the according to the latest reports 7 of them were selected by the central jury headed by south indian veteran director Bharathi raja to the final round of the awards. The screening of Malayalam films had been completed yesterday and after the screening they selected 6 films from it which are Ottal, Oralppokkam, 1983, Alif, Munnariyippu and Ayin.
There has been also reports that How Old Are You, the 2014 mollywood film directed by Roshan Andrews and scripted by Bobby-Sanjay duo was deliberately rejected by the regional jury and later there was an argument in the central jury to screen that film irrespective of its rejection by the regional jury. But central jury stood by the decision of the regional jury and not considered the film for awards.
There has been lot of talk in the town that it was deliberately not chosen in order to pull down actress Manju Warrier who has made a great comeback through that film and to wash away any chance of Manju getting a national recognition. Manju Warrier had given a great performance in that film and also the film had great social relevance as well.
Earlier there were reports that Mammootty and Jayasurya are in the race for best actor awards along with Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Aamir Khan. But now sources saying that no Malayalam actor had been reached the final round for the best actor awards and if it is true then it will be great disappointment for the fans of the respective actors. There was no one from mollywood in the race for the award for best actress as well according to reports.
Apart from Bharathi Raja who is the chairman of the jury, Bhagyaraj and Dr. Nandyathu Gopala Krishnan are the members of the jury from South India. Report also says that today many importance decisions regarding the awards will be taken by the jury and it will be announced on 24th of March.
Jayasurya in race for best actor national award
We have already reported a week before that Actor Mammootty has in the final round for the national award for best actor in 2014-2015. Mammootty is registered his place in that list for his performance in the Venu directorial film named Munnariyippu. But now another happy news is coming for the mollywood film lovers is that Jayasurya, one of the popular young actor of mollywood also made it to the final round of national best actor awards this time.
He is been chosen to the race in the final round for his performance in the Madhav Ramadasan directorial film named Apothecary in which he and Suresh Gopi played the lead roles. He played the character of a patient on whose body the doctors tested the stem cell experiment without his knowledge and for that film and for making the looks of that character perfect Jayasurya had lost considerable amount of weight and almost become lean as one could within a short period of time. He had got great appreciation from the critics and audience alike for that role and even from the time of the release of that film people have expressed their opinion that he has a chance to get the national recognition this year for the best actor in India.
Now according to the reports he is made it to the final round of the awards and now his fans can pray for a great day for him as the declaration of the awards said to be near and reports says that it may declare within a week or two form now.Other than Jayasurya and Mammootty, the strong competitors for this year’s national award for best actor is Mr. Perfectionist of bollywrrd Aamir khan and the young and dashing star Shahid Kapoor.
Mr.Perfectionist is there for his epic performance in the Raj Kumar Hirani directorial film named PK and Shahid Kapoor is there for his breathtaking showing of acting skills in Haider. Apart from these four reports says that actor Sanjay Mishra (for Aankhondekhi) and some Bengali actors also made it to the final round race and we all have to wait till the day of declaration to know who is the best in India in the year 2014.
