Watch: Vineeth Sreenivasan lends his voice for 777 Charlie teaser

Kannada star Rakshit Shetty’s new film ‘777 Charlie’ is getting ready to be released in five languages — Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. As informed by the makers, the teaser has just dropped in on all five languages. It is an unusual teaser with a two-minute long song in it. It capture various moments from the journey of an adorable little dog before it reaches the protagonist, played by Rakshit.

Vineeth Sreenivasan has lent his voice for the song in the teaser’s Malayalam version. The Kannada and Hindi versions have been sung by Shubham Roy, while Karthik has rendered in Tamil and Telugu. Nobin Paul has composed the music. Apart from the teaser song, Vineeth has sung another track in the film.

‘777 Charlie’ is directed by debutant Kiranraj K. Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has bagged the film’s Malayalam distribution rights and Tamil rights is with director Karthik Subbaraj. The former’s recent post about the film has heightened the expectations. He had written about how he feels proud to be associated with something heartwarming in content and truly mind blowing in execution.

‘Charlie 777’ also stars Bobby Simha, Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B Shetty and Danish Sait. It is produced by Rakhsit and GS Gupta under the banner of Paramvah Studios.

Tovino Thomas’ son Tahaan is turning one today and the actor took to his social media handle to share some adorable photos of the kid. Under his Facebook post, celebs like Binu Pappu, Maala Parvathy, Shebin Benson, Salim Ahmed, Dijo Jose Antony, Shebin Backer, Tom Emmatty, Jeo Baby, Alby Antony, Irshad, Marthandan and many others wished the child. Tovino is married to his schoolmate Lidiya for seven years now. The couple also has a 5-year-old daughter named Izza.

On the work front, Tovino has his kitty full with a bunch of promising projects. The actor has already finished shooting for ‘Uyare’ director Manu Ashokan’s ‘Kaanekkaane’, Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s ‘Vazhakku’ and the Aashiq Abu film ‘Naaradan’. His ambitious project ‘Minnal Murali’ is on the verge of competition with only a few more days of shoot left.

Khalid Rahman’s ‘Thallumala’, ‘Anveshippin Kandethum’, ‘Ajayante Randaam Moshanam’, ‘Varavu’ and ‘Vaashi’ are some of his other announced projects.

Kalidas Jayaram’s new Tamil film announced

Kalidas Jayaram, who delivered impressive performances in the anthologies ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’ and ‘Paava Kadhaigal’, has bagged his next Tamil project. Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi will be directing the film, that has Tanya Ravichandran as the female lead. The project was officially announced last day during a Twitter Spaces interaction session. It is a first such launch for a Tamil film.

Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, wife of actor-MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin and daughter-in-law of Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, has previously directed two films — ‘Vanakkam Chennai’ and ‘Kaali’. Her next with Kalidas and Tanya is said to be a time-travel based film. Richard M Nathan, the cinematographer of Kiruthiga’s previous two films, has been retained for this one as well. It is produced by Sagar Pentela’s Rise East banner.

Kalidas meanwhile has a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual coming up. Debutant director Vinil Varghese is helming the film and it is being produced by Navarasa Films. The Malayalam version has been titled as ‘Rajni’ while the Tamil version’s title is yet to be announced. Reba Monica John and Namitha Pramod are the female leads in it.

5 South Indian actors in the Times Most Desirable Man of 2020; Here’s the full list

Times have released the list of 50 Most most Desirable Men for the year 2020. On the list are men under the age of 40, who have made a mark in various fields. The list includes actors, models and cricketers. The ranking is based on votes cast in an online poll along with inputs from an internal jury.

Shahid Kapoor was chosen as the Most Desirable Man last year. This year, it is the late Sushant Singh Rajput who has topped the list. Apart from being just a charming actor, he has been described as a philosopher, dreamer and a rare celebrity with the mindset of an astronomer and astrophysicist.

In the top 50 list, only 5 South Indian actors — Vijay Devarakonda (2), Dulquer Salmaan (5), Yash (21), Rana Daggubati (28) and Harish Kalyan (34) — managed to make it.

Earlier, Dulquer Salmaan held the top position in the Kochi Times Most Desirable Man and second in the Chennai Times edition. Harish Kalyan topped the latter. Yash was chosen as the Bangalore Times Most Desirable Man of 2020.
Vijay Deverakonda scored a hat-trick by becoming Hyderabad Times’ Most Desirable Man for the third time consecutively. Rana Daggubati held the 11th position in it.

Director AL Vijay is next helming a Tamil-Telugu bilingual film titled ‘October 31 Ladies Night’. It has Megha Akash, Nievtha Pethuraj, Manjima Mohan and Reba Monica John as the leads. Tollywood actor Viswak Sen is also there in a cameo role. The film is produced by M Rajasekhar and it is planned as a direct OTT release. An official announcement is expected soon.

‘October 31 Ladies Night’ is based on Halloween, and hence the title. For the uninformed, October 31 is when Halloween is celebrated. The plot is centred around a friends party and a prank that backfires. Director AL Vijay has previously helmed horror films like ‘Devi’, ‘Diya’ and ‘Devi 2’.

Meanwhile, his much-awaited film ‘Thalaivi’, the biopic on late Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa is expected to hit screens once the pandemic situation gets better. The film, which is also a Tamil-Hindi bilingual, was originally supposed to release by the last week of April.

Netflix’s star-studded Tamil anthology ‘Navarasa’ is gearing up for release in August. Though the exact date is not yet out, cinephiles are eagerly looking forward to it. It is a 9-part anthology film that brings together some of the leading filmmakers, actors and technicians in Kollywood.

Gautham Menon is helming one of the segments that has Suriya as the lead. The actor is said to be playing a singer’s role in it. In the location stills, Suriya looks dapper in a long haired get up. The actor had been sporting it from last year’s lockdown days and Gautham Menon asked him to retain it as he thought it suits the character. Recently, the film’s cinematographer PC Sreeram shared a location still taken with Menon and Suriya in his Twitter handle.

‘Navarasa’ also has films helmed by Karthik Subbaraj, Karthick Naren, Vasanth, Ponram, Rathindran Prasad, Arvind Swami, Bejoy Nambiar and Halitha Shameem. Bollywood actor Yami Gautam has got married filmmaker Aditya Dhar. The couple made the announcement by sharing an adorable photo from their wedding ceremony. Going by the photos, the wedding ceremony was a simple affair with only close friends and family members in attendance.

Announcing their wedding with the photo, the couple wrote,

“In your light, I learn to love- Rumi. With the blessings of our family, we have tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony today. Being very private people, we celebrated this joyous occasion with our immediate family. As we embark on the journey of love and friendship, we seek all your blessings and good wishes.

Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar have worked together in ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, directed by the latter. The film won a total of four National awards including one for the Best Director. Aditya is currently working on ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’, which stars Vicky Kaushal as the lead. It is said to be a superhero action film set in modern times and is being planned as a trilogy.

Yami Gautam, meanwhile, is awaiting the release of Behzad Khambata directorial ‘A Thursday’, in which she plays the role of a playschool teacher who takes 16 children as hostages. Apart from ‘A Thursday’, Yami will soon be seen in ‘Bhoot Police’, where she stars alongside Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Saif Ali Khan. She will also be seen in ‘Dasvi’ alongside Abhishek Bachcha.

‘Aarkkariyam’ starring Biju Menon, Parvathy and Sharafudheen is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Though the film had its theatrical release in April, it didn’t have a successful run mainly due to the pandemic. It is only after the OTT release that the film found its right audience. Some detailed analysis and interpretations about it can be seen on movie-discussion platforms.

Meanwhile, the film’s making video has been released online. It is a compilation of the various interesting moments that occurred on sets during shoot. Since the film was shot during the pandemic, all the crew members are seen wearing masks throughout. Director Sanu John Varughese can also be seen giving detailed instructions to his actors and extracting what he wants from them.

‘Aarkkariyam’ set in the post-pandemic world starts off as a regular family drama and turns into a murder-mystery. The film is minimal in its approach and moves at a leisurely pace. There is hardly any spoon-feeding and offers a space for various interpretations.

Since the film is streaming on Amazon Prime with subtitles, hardcore non-Malayali cinephiles are also loving it.
