Bhramam starring Prithviraj, Mamta Mohandas, Unni Mukundan and Raashi Khanna launched

We had earlier reported about Prithviraj Sukumaran, Unni Mukundan, Mamta Mohandas and Raashi Khanna coming together for a new film titled ‘Bhramam’. Ace cinematographer Ravi K Chandran is directing the film and AP International is producing it. The film’s launch event was held today at Fort Kochi. Almost all the cast and crew members were present for the function.

There are reports about ‘Bhramam’ being the official remake of acclaimed Hindi film ‘Andhadhun’. However, the makers are yet to confirm it. If it is indeed true, it will be interesting to see how they adapt the original script to make it appealing to the Malayali audience. It must be noted that ‘Andhadhun’ was a huge hit that even won a couple of National awards.

‘Bhramam’ is scripted by Sarath Balan. Shankar, Jagadeesh, Sudheer Karamana, Surabhi Lakshmi, Ananya and many others are part of the film’s supporting cast. Director Ravi K Chandran himself is handling the camera and Jakes Bejoy has been signed as the music director. Veteran Sreekar Prasad is the editor.

Siju Wilson as Aarattupuzha Velayudha Panicker in Pathonpathaam Noottandu

Director Vinayan had earlier announced that he would be making a big-budget period film titled ‘Pathonpathaam Noottandu’. The film tells the story of Arattupuzha Velayudha Panicker, a brave Ezhava chieftain who lived in the 19th century. Last day, it was announced that Siju Wilson will be playing the lead role in this ambitious film. A first look poster featuring the actor in a warrior getup also got released online.

Arattupuzha Velayudha Panicker was the first martyr of the Kerala Renaissance movement. The leader stood for the marginalized community and fought against the caste system. He led several struggles for women including the ‘Mookuthi Samaram’ – a protest led for the Ezhava women, who were denied the right to wear nose studs.

For the past few months, Siju Wilson has been prepping up to play this iconic character. He developed a warrior’s physique apart from getting trained in horse riding and kalaripayattu. Siju has also shared a note in his social media handle thanking all those who stood by him during this period of transformation. He has written,

Even the horse riding experience is not only very adventurous but also tough at the same time. KGF music director Ravi Basrur roped in for Omar Lulu’s Powerstar

Omar Lulu is assembling a solid team for his much-hyped film ‘Powerstar’. The film that marks the return of Babu Antony as a lead actor has the presence of many big names. Latest addition to the team is Ravi Basrur, the music director of ‘KGF’ series. ‘Powerstar’ will be his second Malayalam film. He is debuting with a road movie titled ‘Muddy’.

‘Powerstar’ is scripted by veteran Dennis Joseph, who is making a comeback after a long gap. It is planned as a complete action film with the story centred around drug deals in Kochi and Mangalore. The film is set to be released in both Malayalam and Kannada.

Kannada star Shreyas Manju will be seen playing a major role in it. Hollywood actor Louis Mandylor and Robert Parham, a retired American kickboxer is also part of the film. Riyaz Khan, Baburaj and Abu Salim are also part of the cast. Ratheesh Anedath is producing the film under the banner of Virtual Films.
