Tovino Thomas and Keeethy Suresh to star in

Tovino Thomas and Keerthy Suresh are set to act together for the first time. Titled as ‘Vaashi’, the film will be directed by debutant Vishnu G Raghav. Keerthy’s father Suresh Kumar, a veteran in Malayalam industry, is producing the film. Her mother Menaka Suresh and sister Revathy Suresh are the co-producers. Superstar Mohanlal announced the project through his official social media handle.

Sharing the title poster, Keerthy wrote,

A project closer to my heart than you’d think!
As a dream for a girl child to be in a movie produced by her father, one could argue that it would come easy but certainly nothing ever came easy!

Introducing Vaashi,

A movie that took almost 7 years to fall in place rather than one that was put together.

‘Vaashi’ has its story penned by Janiz Chacko Simon. Roby Varghese Raj as the cinematographer, Kailas Menon as the music director and Mahesh Narayanan handling the edits. Urvashi Theatres and Ramya Movies will be releasing the film.

Official: Imman to compose music for Suriya 40

Suriya’s new film with director Pandiraj is set to go on floors soon. Sun Pictures is producing the film which has been tentatively titled as ‘Suriya 40’. The makers have announced that D Imman will be composing music for this film. It is the composer’s birthday today and the announcement comes as a special treat for his fans. Notably, this is Imman’s third successive outing with director Pandiraj.

Just like Pandiraj’a last two films, ‘Kadaikutty Singam’ and ‘Enga Veetu Pillai’, both of which were hugely successful, ‘Suriya 40’ is also expected to be a proper mass commercial entertainer that appeals to all sections of the audience. Though the makers are yet to confirm it, it is said that Suriya will be playing a politician’s role in the film. There is also a buzz about the makers trying to rope in ‘Gang Leader’ fame Priyanka Arul Mohan to play the female lead’s role.

As ‘Master’ enters the second week of theatrical run, the makers have released the song video of ‘Kutty Story’ online. The song was first released back in last February and it turned out to be a sensational hit. Vijay’s cute dance steps along with the kids is the major highlight of this song. The track is sung by the star himself and it’s composed by Anirudh. It has quirky Tanglish lyrics by Arunraja Kamaraja, who has earlier penned chartbusters like ‘Neruppu Da’ and ‘Varlaam Varlaam Vaa Bairavaa’.

‘Master’ directed by Lokesh Kangaraj is having a great run in theatres. The film has grossed Rs 100 crore from Tamil Nadu box office itself. Worldwide, it has grossed over Rs 200 crores and has already been declared a big blockbuster by trade experts.
Meanwhile, the film’s Hindi remake rights have already been sold. Endemol Shine India, Cine1 Studios and 7 Screens have acquired the rights.

Ajagajantharam first look: Antony Varghese starrer looks high on action!

The first look poster of Antony Varghese’s new film ‘Ajagajantharam’ got released on Saturday. From the poster, we can make out that the film will be an action-packed entertainer. Antony, Arjun Ashokan, Lukman, Kichu Tellus, Sudhi Koppa and Vineeth Viswam feature in the poster, which is designed by Amal Jose.

‘Ajagajantharam’ marks the reunion of Antony with director Tinu Pappachan after the success of ‘Swathanthryan Ardharathriyil’. The film is scripted by ‘Angamaly Diaries’ (AD) actors Vineeth Viswam and Kichu Tellus. Antony reportedly plays the lead role of a mahout in the film and it is set against the backdrop of a temple festival.

‘Ajagajantharam’ has Jinto George as the cinematographer, ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’ fame Justin Varghese as the music director and
Shameer Muhammed as the editor. Gokul Das is the art director and Renganaath Ravee handles the sound design.

Emmanuel Joseph and Ajith Thalapilly are producing the film under the banner of Silver Bay Studios. Central Pictures will be releasing it in Kerala. The makers have announced the film will be hitting screens on February 26.

Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe delayed; Siva to start works on Suriya’s film

Shoot for superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Annaatthe’ has been put on hold due to the pandemic situation. Though the makers had resumed shoot in December, they had to stop it immediately after some crew members were tested Covid positive. In the following week, Rajinikanth was also admitted in hospital due to some health issues. The makers have now been forced to stall shoot till the situation gets better.

Due to ‘Annatthe’ delay, director Siva has now decided to begin the pre-production works of his upcoming film with Suriya. Though this project was supposed to begin first, Siva opted to proceed with ‘Annatthe’ after Rajinikanth voluntarily gave him dates after being impressed with ‘Viswasam’.

The delay with ‘Annatthe’ means that Siva’s film with Suriya will be beginning much earlier than expected. KR Gnanavel Raja is producing the film, which is yet to be titled. Meanwhile, Suriya is set to start shooting for his next with director Pandiraj. He has also committed for ‘Vaadivaasal’ with director Vetrimaaran.

The Priest new poster featuring Nikhila Vimal and ‘Kaithi’ fame Baby Moncia released

The makers of ‘The Priest’ have released a new poster featuring Nikhila Vimal and child actor Baby Monica. The latter is noted for his performance in the Tamil film ‘Kaithi’. ‘The Priest’ directed by debutant Jofin T Chacko has Mammootty in the titular role. The film scripted by Deepu Pradeep and Shyam Menon is said to be a mystery thriller.

Recently, the makers has released an intriguing teaser which did not reveal anything about the plot. The film has a big star cast. Manju Warrier and Mammootty are acting together for the first time. Jagadheesh, Saniya Iyappan, Ramesh Pisharody, Ameya Mathew, ‘Nayika Nayakan’ fame Venkitesh and Tony Luke will be seen in supporting roles.

On the technical front, Akhil George is the cinematographer and Shameer Muhammed handles the edits. Rahul Raj is in charge of the music department. The film is jointly produced by Anto Joseph, B Unnikrishnan and VN Babu. Official announcement regarding the theatrical release is expected to be made shortly.

Vishnu Vishal’s Indru Netru Naalai 2 launched

As reported earlier, the 2015-released super hit film ‘Indru Netru Naalai’ is getting a sequel. The film got launched today. Ravi Kumar Rajendran, who directed the first part, is scripting this film and it will be directed by SP Karthik. The lead actors in the original film,
Vishnu Vishal, Miya and Karunakaran, will be reprising their roles. Munishkanth is the latest addition to the cast.

‘Indru Netru Naalai 2’ is also the 25th production venture of CV Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment. The film has music scored by Ghibran and cinematography by Prabu Raghav. More details are expected to be out in the coming days.

‘Indru Netru Naalai’ was a sleeper hit that also won unanimous critical acclaim. It is a time-travel flick made in a completely commercial format that even the a layman audience could easily comprehend. When a sequel gets ready, it will be interesting to see if the team can recreate the same quality output.

D43: Soorarai Pottru fame Krishna Kumar joins Dhanush’s next

Dhanush is currently shooting for his new film directed by Karthick Naren. Tentatively titled as ‘D43’, the film has Malavika Mohanan as the female lead. Samuthirakani and ‘Thadam’ fame Smruthi Venkat have also been cast in important roles. Latest addition to the cast is Krishna Kumar, who delivered an impressive impressive performance in ‘Soorarai Pottru’.

Krishna Kumar is a Chennai-based theatre artiste. Though he made his debut in cinema in 2010, it was his performance in the recently released Suriya starrer that made him popular among the masses. He played a character named Che in the film. Usually in big-star films, hero’s friends are stereotypical sidekicks who are reduced to a butt of jokes. However, Krishna Kumar’s Che was a well-rounded character and the actor grabbed attention with his earnest performance. He is expected to have a noteworthy role in Dhanush’s film as well.

Tovino Thomas’ new film Anveshippin Kandethum announced; Santhosh Narayanan to compose music

Tovino Thomas is celebrating his birthday today and on this special occasion, a new project of his has been announced through social medias. Titled as ‘Anveshippin Kandethum’, it is directed by debutant Darwin Kuriakose. Jinu V Abraham, who has written films like ‘Masters’, ‘London Bridge’ and also directed ‘Adam Joan’, is scripting this film. Its title poster introducing the crew members has been shared online.

One of Tamil cinema’s leading music directors, Santhosh Narayanan making his Malayalam debut with this film. He is popular for his work in content-oriented films like ‘Jigarthanda’, ‘Madras’, ‘Cuckoo’, ‘Kaala’, ‘Kabali’ and ‘Vada Chennai’. As per the makers of ‘Anveshippin Kandethum’, the film demands a composer like Santhosh Narayanan and they are excited to have him on board.

Girish Gangadharan is the cinematographer and edits will be handled by Saiju Sreedharan. The film is being produced under the banner of Theatre of Dreams. Details regarding the film’s genre, other actors and when shoot begins are not yet known.

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo director Trivikram to script Ayyappanum Koshiyum Telugu remake

Last year’s superhit Malayalam film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ is being remade in Telugu with Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubatti as the leads. Saagar K Chandra, who has earlier helmed films like ‘Ayyare’ and ‘Appatlo Okkadundevadu’, is directing the remake version, which is yet-to-be titled. Sithara Entertainments, one of the leading banners in Telugu industry, is producing the film.

The makers have got Trivikram Srinivas to pen the film’s screenplay and dialogues. An A-list filmmaker in Tollywood, Trivikram has scripted and made several blockbuster films. His last released film, ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’ starring Allu Arjun was a massive box office success. It remains to be seen how well he adapts ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’.

The Sachi directorial is centered around a raging conflict fulled by a battle of egos between a policeman and a retired havildar. Prithviraj and Biju Menon played the titular characters in the film, which was both a critical and commercial success. Inspired by its success, top production houses from Tamil and Hindi industries have also bagged the remake rights.

In the Telugu version, Pawan Kalyan will be reprising Biju Menon’s character and Rana will be playing the part essayed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The makers have got Prasad Murella as the cinematographer and S Thaman to handle the music department.
