Anirudh assures that Master will be a celebration for fans whenever it releases!

Going by the present scenario, Vijay fans will have to wait for a few more months before enjoying ‘Master’ on the big screen. Industry talk is that the film is likely to hit screens only by Diwali in November. However, the makers have been trying to cheer up the fans by constantly reminding them that the wait will be worth it. Recently, music director Anirudh assured that the film will be a treat whenever it hits screens.

During a live interaction with his followers in Instagram, Anirudh informed that he is currently working on the film’s re-recording in his home studio. He assured that ‘Master’ will be a total celebration for the fans to enjoy. Meanwhile, the songs he composed for the film continue to trend virally. ‘Vaathi Coming’ and ‘Kutti Story’ have become huge hits already.

‘Master’ is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Pon Parthiben and Rathna Kumar have penned the additional screenplay. Vijay Sethupathi, Andrea Jeremiah, Malavika Mohanan, Gouri Kishan and Shanthanu Bhagyaraj are also part of the film’s cast.

Prithviraj and Mammootty to star in Kunchan Nambiar biopic!

For the last few years, veteran director Hariharan has been planning to make an ambitious film based on the life of Kunchan Nambiar. In a recent interview, the director has revealed that he has got Prithviraj to play Kunchan Nambiar’s role and Mammootty to essay a cameo role as king Marthanda Varma. The film titled as ‘Kalakkathu Kunchan Nambiar’ was supposed to be officially launched with a pooja ceremony on Vishu day but the makers had to drop their plans due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hariharan is a National-award winning director known for helming big-scale films like ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’ and ‘Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja’. Few years back, the director had announced that he would be making a mythological film titled ‘Syamanthakam’ with Prithviraj. It is learnt that the project got dropped in the initial stages itself and instead Hariharan has been working on the Kunchan Nambiar biopic. It is scripted by K Jayakumar and will be produced by Gokulam Films.

Considering the dreadful Covid-19 scenario, we will have to wait and see what the future of such big projects will be. Stay tuned to this space for more updates.

Joju George plays Nivin Pauly’s father in Thuramukham!

Rajeev Ravi’s ‘Thuramukham’ has an elaborate star cast comprising several talented actors. While Nivin Pauly plays the lead role, actors like Joju George, Indrajith Sukumaran, Nimisha Sajayan, Darshana Rajendran, Arjun Ashokan, Poornima Indrajith, Sudev Nair and Manikandan R Achari will be seen in substantial roles.

‘Thuramukham’ has Nivin Pauly playing the role of a Mattanchery based port-labourer named Moidu. Joju George will be seen as Nivin’s father in the film. The two actors had earlier worked together in films like ‘Neram’, ‘1983’ and ‘Action Hero Biju’.

Initially, Joju’s character in ‘Thuramukham’ was supposed to be done by Biju Menon, but he opted out due to some unknown reasons. Arjun Ashokan and Nivin will be seen as siblings in the film while Joju and Poornima Indrajith essay the parts of their parents. Indrajith also plays a crucial role, which we hear is based on a real-life person. Sudev Nair is portraying a negative-shaded role in the film.

‘Thuramukham’ is actually based on the historic protests against the inhuman ‘chappa’ system, that existed during the 1950s wherein copper coins were thrown at waiting workers in a primitive ‘work guarantee’ scheme, which had resulted in police firing and killing of three workers in Mattancherry. Gopan Chidambaram, one of the scenarists of ‘Iyobinte Pusthakam’, has scripted this film.

We had earlier reported about Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew starring in ace director Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film ‘Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai’. It has been officially announced that the film will be out on Netflix on June 5. Roshan and Saiyami Kher play the lead roles in the film.

‘Choked’ scripted by Nihit Bhave is the story of a strong-willed middle-class housewife, who finds cash flowing out of her kitchen sink every night, and how this changes her life. Saiyami plays 30-year-old Sarita Pillai, a bank cashier and Roshan will be seen as her husband Sushant Pillai, who is a struggling musician. It explores relationships, the balance between truth, power and money.

Anurag Kashayp roped in Roshan after being impressed by his terrific performance as the speech-impaired gay person in ‘Moothon’. Anurag had written the Hindi portions of the film. ‘Choked’ marks Roshan’s debut in Bollywood and he couldn’t have asked for a better launch.

Suresh Gopi to sport two different looks yet again!

We had recently reported about Suresh Gopi signing a new film with director Rahul Ramachandran of ‘Jeem Boom Bhaa’ fame. It is learnt that the star will be appearing in two different looks in the film. Debutant Sameen Salim has scripted the film, which is said to be a drama-thriller. Since the story is set in two timelines, Suresh Gopi will be seen sporting different looks for each phase of the character. The makers are eyeing to start shoot by early 2021.

Suresh Gopi was working on Nithin Renji Panicker’s ‘Kaaval’ when the lockdown was announced. He still has 10 more days of shoot left, which will be wrapped up as soon as the restrictions are lifted. After that he will be teaming up with debutant Mathew Thomas for his 250th film. Shibin Francis of ‘CIA’ fame is scripting the film which is a Kottayam-based mass entertainer on the lines of ‘Lelam’. The superstar will once again be seen playing a mass, achayan character named as Kaduvakunnel Kuruvaachan.

It seems like the wait for Vijay starrer ‘Master’ will have to continue for the next couple of months as theatres remain shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Industry talk is that the film is likely to hit screens only by Diwali in November. Although release is still months away, there is no fall in expectations. Fans have been requesting the makers to release the trailer and it is expected to be out next month on Vijay’s birthday.

Meanwhile, actor Arjun Das, who is playing an important role in ‘Master’, has revealed that he recently got to watch the trailer and it’s ‘marana mass’. During a live interaction session with his fans in Instagram, the ‘Kaithi’ star said that he has watched ‘Master’ trailer around 6 times already and is in love with it. He also added that there is a particular dialogue said by Vijay in the trailer which fans will surely love.

Aadujeevitham team wraps up schedule in Jordan!

After facing several hurdles, the team of ‘Aadujeevitham’ have successfully managed to wrap up the schedule in Jordan. Lead actor Prithviraj Sukumaran took to his official social media handle to share the news along with photo taken with the crew members.

The 58-member crew including director Blessy and Prithviraj had left for Jordan in March. As the Covid-19 pandemic started spreading worldwide, the team got stranded in Jordan. Curfew was enforced in the country and the team had to stop shooting halfway. Indian embassy officials in Jordan and various government bodies ensured that all their basic needs were met. All this while, the team had been staying in a desert property in Wadi Rum.

It was only two weeks back that local authorities granted permission for shoot, which came as a huge relief for the team members. As the Indian government has started operating special flights from abroad, the crew is expected to return back home very soon.

The second look poster of ‘Thuramukham’ has just been released online. The poster features a fierce looking Nivin Pauly. Directed by Rajeev Ravi, it is a period film which is based on true incidents. Director Mysskin to team up with Arun Vijay next?

After falling out with Vishal during the shoot of ‘Thupparivalan 2’, there have been many speculations regarding Mysskin’s upcoming films. It was widely reported that the director will be teaming up with Simbu next. However, no confirmation has been made by neither parties. Fresh set of reports suggest that Mysskin’s immediate next will be with the highly talented Arun Vijay. All in Pictures is said to be producing the film. An official word is expected to be out soon.

Arun Vijay had recently wrapped up shoot for ‘Sinam’ and was working on Arivazhagan’s new film when the lockdown was announced. Touted to be a thriller, it is his second film with the director after the superhit success of ‘Kuttram 23’. Arun Vijay also has some other interesting projects like ‘Boxer’ and ‘Agni Siragugal’ in the pipeline. For ‘Boxer’, directed by Vivek, the star had undergone rigorous training in boxing apart from working out a ripped physique. ‘Agni Siragugal’ directed by ‘Moodar Koodar’ fame Naveen is a multi-starrer that also has Vijay Antony, Akshara Haasan, Nasser and Prakash Raj in the lead roles.
