Check out this new song from Avan Srimannarayana!

Kannada superstar Rakshit Shetty’s new film ‘Avane Srimannarayana’ is gearing up to hit screens . As reported by us earlier, the film is releasing in five regional Indian languages – Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The original Kannada version will be the first to release on December 27, followed by a Telugu release on January 1, 2020. The Tamil and Malayalam versions will release on January 3, 2020. The makers have zeroed in on January 16 for the release of the Hindi version.

The Malayalam version has been titled as ‘Avan Srimannarayana. Tomichan Mulakupadam, the producer of blockbuster films like ‘Pulimurugan’ and ‘Ramaleela’, is releasing the film in Kerala. The makers have released a new song online. The track is composed by Charan Raj. Antony Daasan and Madhuvanti Narayan have lent their voices for lyrics written by Akhil M Bose.

Avane Srimannarayana’ is a cop action flick set in the ’80s in a fictional town in Karnataka. Debutant Sachin Ravi is directing the film. Lead actor Rakshit Shetty, who has also written the story, will be seen essaying the role of a a corrupt police officer. The cast includes Shanvi Srivastava, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty, and Balaji Manohar. H. K. Prakash and Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah are producing the film.

The official trailer of director Omar Lulu’s new film ‘Dhamaka’ got released online last day. The film looks like an adult comedy on the lines to Omar’s earlier films. Arun Kumar and Nikki Galrani play the leads. The film was initially planned to be a Christmas release but got postponed due to some unknown reasons. The makers have now confirmed January 2 as the new release date.

‘Dhamaka’ has its story penned by Omar, while screenplay and dialogues are written jointly by Sarang Jayaprakash, Venu OV and Kiran Lal. The story revolves around the hero’s impotency issue. Senior actors Mukesh, Urvashi and Innocent will be seen in major roles.

Neha Saxena, Sabumon Abdusamad, Salim Kumar, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Shalin Zoya, Hareesh Kanaran and many others are part of the supporting cast.

The technical crew comprises of Sinoj P Ayyappan as the DOP, Gopi Sunder as the music director and Dilip Dennis as the editor. MK Nassar is producing the film under the banner of Good Line Productions.

Big Brother song gets good response from music lovers!

Mohanlal’s new film ‘Big Brother’ is getting ready for release next month. Recently, the makers had released the first song online. The track titled ‘Kando Kando’ is composed by Deepak Dev. Bollywood’s top music director Amit Trivedi has made his Malayalam debut by rendering this track along with Gowri Lekshmi. Lyrics for this romantic track is written by Rafeeq Ahammed. In Youtube, the lyric video has already fetched over 1 lakh views.

‘Big Brother’ is written and directed by Siddique. From the earlier released trailer, the film looks like an action-packed thriller with family emotions at the core. Along with superstar, there is also a big supporting cast. Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan, Anoop Menon, ‘June’ fame Sarjano Khalid, Mirna Menon, Gadha, Honey Rose, Vis Unnikrishnan, Siddique, Tini Tom, Janardhanan, Satna Titus, Irshad and Chemban Vinod Jose are part of the film.

‘Big Brother’ has cinematography handled by Jithu Damodar and music composed by Deepak Dev. Director Siddique, Jenso Jose, Philipose K Joseph, Manu Maliackal and Vaishak Rajan have jointly produced the film, which is most likely to hit screens on January 16.

Other language superstars approach Driving Licence team for remake rights!

‘Driving Licence’ directed by Jean Paul Lal aka Lal Jr hit screens last Friday (December 20). The film scripted by Sachy has Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles. It has opened to unanimously positive response from all corners. Critic reviews have also been encouraging with special mention for the performance of its two lead actors. Popular opinion is that the film is a well-made commercial entertainer.

Interestingly, other language stars have approached ‘Driving Licence’ team for the remake rights. Top stars from Telugu and Tamil film industries have expressed interest to remake the film in their languages. It must be noted that the film has an interesting storyline with an universal appeal. It is primarily centred around two individuals – a film star and his ardent fan, who is a motor vehicle inspector. It is the clash of ego between the two that form the film’s crux.

Since Malayalam films are always known for getting remade, the possibility of ‘Driving
Licence’ going to other languages are certainly high. Moreover, the fact that the film has turned to be a big hit with unanimous acceptance from the Malayali audience is also a big factor. An official announcement regarding the remake versions is expected to be made very soon.

The ‘Premam’ gang of Siju Wilson, Krishna Shankar, Althaf Salim and Shabareesh Varma are teaming up for ‘Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoothi’, which is gearing up for release. The film is written and directed by debutant Jenith Kachappilly. Rajesh Augustine is producing it in association with Captain Bipin Rajendran, Sunil Kumar Vakeel and Srijith Babu.

‘Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoothi’ (MVV) team have been grabbing attention with their interesting promotion strategies. Along with a couple of quirky posters, the makers had also recently released an audio teaser, which is probably a first in Malayalam. Tomorrow on Christmas day, a new character poster has been planned to be released. Manju Warrier will be the sharing the poster of Mariyam, one of the central characters in the film.

We hear that ‘MVV’ is a complete fun entertainer, the story of which happens over a single night. Apart from the ‘Premam’ gang, the cast also includes Sethulakshmi, Basil Joseph, Sidhartha Siva, Baiju Santhosh and a forgein actress named Irene Mihalkovich. The core technical crew comprises of DOP Shinoj P Ayyappan, editor Appu Bhattathiri and art director Manu Jagadh. Newcomers Wazim-Murali have composed the music with additional songs by Prashanth Pillai.

New release date announced for Omar Lulu’s Dhamaka

Director Omar Lulu’s new film ‘Dhamaka’ was initially planned to be a Christmas release but got postponed due to some unknown reasons. The makers have now announced January 2 as the new release date. Starring Arun Kumar and Nikki Galrani in the leads, the film promises to be a typical Omar Lulu style colourful entertainer.

‘Dhamaka’ has its story penned by Omar, while screenplay and dialogues are written jointly by Sarang Jayaprakash, Venu OV and Kiran Lal. It is said to be a full-on comedy entertainer revolving around the hero’s impotency issue.

Senior actors Mukesh, Urvashi, Neha Saxena, Sabumon Abdusamad, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Shalin Zoya, Hareesh Kanaran and many others are part of the supporting cast. The technical crew comprises of Sinoj P Ayyappan as the DOP, Gopi Sunder as the music director and Dilip Dennis as the editor.

MK Nassar is producing the film under the banner of Good Line Productions.

The trailer of director Abrid Shine’s latest film ‘The Kung Fu Master’ has been released online. From the trailer, the film looks totally in contrast with what the director has done previously. It is an out and out action film set in Himalayas. The trailer is also being screened in select theatres playing ‘Driving Licence’.

‘The Kung Fu Master’ is a first of its kind martial arts action film in Malayalam. According to Abrid Shine, his first three films – ‘1983’, ‘Action Hero Biju’ and ‘Poomaram’ were all based on his personal experiences or the things that he has seen in his film. However, ‘The Kung Fu Master’ is a completely fictious film that is inspired from the action films of Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Bruce Lee.

Neeta Pillai, who grabbed attention for her performance in ‘Poomaram’, plays the lead role along with debutant Jiji Scaria and Sanoop Dinesh. It is heard that all the three lead actors had undergone intense training in martial arts before shooting for the film.

Sooraj S Kurup, Anju Balachandran, Ramamoorthy, Rajan Varghese, Vinod Mathew, Hareesh Babu, Jayesh K, Rangith PB and James J are also part of the supporting cast. Major Ravi’s son Arjun, a former associate of Jomon T John, is making his debut as an independent cinematographer with this film. Ishaan Chhabra is the music director and edits are handled by KR Midhun.

‘The Kung Fu Master’ is being produced under the banner of Full On Studio Frames.

Dileep’s ‘My Santa’ is all set to arrive tomorrow on the special occasion of Christmas day. The film directed by Sugeeth is expected to be an out and out fun entertainer aimed at the kids and family audience. Dileep and a 7-year-old girl kid play major roles in the film. Debutant Jemin Cyriac has scripted the film. It has an interesting subject as Dileep will be appearing as a Santa Claus in the film. This is probably the first time someone is playing a full length Santa Claus role in Malayalam cinema.

‘My Santa’ has Anusree as the female lead. It is her second film with Dileep after ‘Chandrettan Evideya’. Young star Sunny Wayne is also essaying a crucial role in the film. Sai Kumar, Dharmajan, Hareesh Kanaran, Indrans, Siddique, Shine Tom Chacko and many others are part of the cast. On the technical front, the film has Faizal Ali as the DOP, Sajan as the editor and Vidyasagar as the music director.

It is the maiden venture of a newly launched production banner named Wall Poster Entertainments. Scriptwriter Nishad Koya, Saritha Sugeeth, Ajeesh OK and Sandra Maria Jose are heading the banner.

2019 has been a great year for Prithviraj in general. Apart from being successful as an actor, he also he made his debut as a producer and a director. His directorial debut ‘Lucifer’ starring Mohanlal in the lead emerged as a record breaking blockbuster and is now ranked as the highest grosser in Malayalam cinema history. Prithviraj’s filmmaking skills were widely appreciated and Malayali audience are already looking forward to his upcoming directorial ventures.

Recently, in an event held as part of the promotions of his latest release ‘Driving Licence’, Prithviraj made a big revelation. Apparently, the star was offered an opportunity to direct a film with Tamil superstar Rajinikanth. However, he could not take up the project as he had ‘Aadujeevitham’ in the pipeline. He jokingly said that he had never written such a long sorry note for anyone else. Prithviraj also added that letting go of such a big opportunity would be one of the biggest regrets of his life.

It is worth a mention that Prithviraj was also approached to direct the Telugu remake of ‘Lucifer’ with megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead. Due to his acting commitments, he could not take it up then. Hit maker Sukumar will be helming the project.

Prithviraj’s sophomore directorial will be ‘Empuraan’, the second part of ‘Lucifer’. As announced the makers, shoot for the same will be beginning sometime next year.

Manju Warrier and Nikhila Vimal in Mammootty’s next

We had recently reported about Mammootty and Manju Warrier coming together for a thriller film. Though the two stars have been active for nearly two decades, this is the first time they will be acting together. Debutant Jofin T Chacko will be directing the film and it will be produced by Anto Joseph and senior filmmaker B Unnikrishnan.

Promising young actress Nikhila Vimal is the latest addition to the cast. Similar to Manju, this is also Nikhila’s first outing with Mammootty. The project got initiated after some sudden developments. Though Mammootty had other prior commitments, he accommodated immediate dates for this project as he was highly impressed by Jofin’s script. Official announcement with full details regarding the cast and crew is expected to be made soon. Shoot is scheduled to begin in full swing from the first week of January.

Mammootty’s next release will be ‘Shylock’, a mass entertainer directed by Ajai Vasudev. The film is slated to hit screens on January 23.
