Kunchacko Boban’s next with Midhun Manuel Thomas launched

Kunchacko Boban’s new film with director Midhun Manuel Thomas was launched today with a customary pooja ceremony. The movie is being produced by Ashiq Usman. Unnimaya Prasad, noted for her roles in films like ‘Parava’, ‘Virus’ and ‘Mayaanadhi’, will be seen in a major role. The cast also includes Sharafudheen, Divya Gopinath, Sreenath Bhasi and Jinu Joseph.

Today’s launch was attend by Unnimaya, Divya, Jinu, Siddharth Bharathan and some others. Midhun himself has scripted the movie, which is said to be a thriller. Shyju Khalid is the cinematographer and Sushin Shyam is in charge of the music department. Vivek Harshan has been assigned as the editor.

It is worth a mention that Midhun Manuel’s last film, ‘Argentina Fans Kaattoorkadavu’, was also produced by Ashiq Usman. Despite releasing amidst high expectations, it failed to make any impact, both critically and commercially. It will be interesting to see if there is a change in fortune for the director-producer combo this time.

Biju Menon’s new film ‘Sathyam Paranja Viswasikkuvo’, directed by G Prajith had hit screens last Friday (July 5). The movie has opened to largely positive reviews, from both the critics and general audience. It has been rated by many as a clean entertainer that can be enjoyed by audience of all age groups.

Celebrities are now coming out congratulating the makers. After Prithviraj Sukumaran, now it’s Tovino Thomas who has written a note on his official social media handle about how happy he is on learning about the movie’s success. Tovino has written,

Happy to hear a lot of positive response on this movie #SathyamParanjaViswasikkumo starring #Biju chettan and #SamvruthaSunil, directed by G Prajith, produced by Remadevi, Sandip Senan, Anish M Thomas. I couldn’t watch the movie yet, but surely watch it soon! Congratulations to the entire team.

Earlier, Prithviraj had penned about how the movie’s beauty lies in its simplicity. According to him, it is a gentle reminder that sometimes wholesome cinema need not necessarily have a complex plot or multi dimensional characters.

‘Sathyam Paranja Vishwasikuvo’ is scripted by Sajeev Pazhoor, the National award winner who penned the widely acclaimed ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’. It is a clean entertainer film with elements of social satire, family drama and thriller. With the continued support of the audience and the positive word of mouth in social medias, the movie is certain to have a good run in the box office.

Goodwill Entertainments to produce a film with Mohanlal

Goodwill Entertainments is a leading banner in Malayalam film industry noted for producing films like ‘Abrahaminte Santhathikal’, ‘Kasaba, ‘Ann Maria Kalippilanu’, ‘Captain’ and Jo and the Boy’. Mammootty has frequently collaborated with the banner and has already committed for three films with them. It is now learnt that the production house is planning to team up with the other big M, Mohanlal as well.

In a recent casual chat with one of his followers in Facebook, Joby George, who heads the banner, revealed that he will be producing a film with Mohanlal next year. Several wild theories are doing the rounds but details about the director or other crew members have not yet been revealed.

Mohanlal meanwhile has just a few more days of shoot left for ‘Ittymaani Made in China’. After that, he will be joining the sets of ‘Big Brother’. In October, he will be starting works for his directorial debut ‘Barroz’. ‘Lucifer’ sequel ‘Empuraan’ is his only other confirmed project.

On the other hand, Goodwill Entertainment has some promising projects coming up. Mammootty’s new film which is directed by Ajai Vasudev is produced by the same banner. They are also producing an action film with Mammootty, which will be directed by Pramod Pappan. Famous scriptwriter Dennis Joseph is making a comeback with this film. The much hyped ‘Kunjali Marakkar’ is another big project in their kitty.

Dhanush dismisses reports about Vada Chennai being shelved

Dhanush-Vetrimaaran combo is one of the most successful actor-director duos in Tamil film industry. Their last outing ‘Vada Chennai’ was hugely successful at the box office and won widespread critical acclaim. The film was conceived as a three-part gangster saga. Around 20% of the second part has already been shot. However, much to the disappointment of cinephiles, recently there were reports about the project being shelved.

‘Vada Chennai’ chronicled 30 years in the life of an accidental gangster in north Chennai. It was widely reported that the makers apparently decided to drop the project as the residents of north Chennai were unhappy about the way their lifestyle was presented on-screen. However, Dhanush has now come out dismissing all these reports and also adding that the project is very much on. His tweet reads,

Don’t know what caused this confusion among my fans. Vadachennai part 2 is very much on , Unless you see any official confirmation from my Twitter handle please do not believe in rumours regarding any project of mine. Thank you. Love you.

As we already know, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff are coming together for the first time in ‘War’ directed by Siddharth Anand. When two of the biggest action heroes in Indian cinema unite, we can be guaranteed of some riveting action pieces and that’s exactly what the movie promises from its teaser. The 53-second teaser gives glimpses of some fierce stunts with Tiger and Hrithik locking horns.

Yash Raj Films is producing the movie. Vaani Kapoor, noted for her roles in movies like ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ and ‘Befikre’ plays the female lead. Reportedly, she will be seen as Hrithik’s romantic interest in the movie. It is learnt that Vaani’s outstanding dancing skills has helped her in bagging this high profile project.

Sidharth Anand has previously directed films like ‘Salaam Namaste’, ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum’, ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ and ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’. He has also worked with Hrithik Roshan in the 2014 action film ‘Bang Bang’, which was the official remake of Tom Cruise’s ‘Knight and Day’. So, the director has already proven his ability to helm high octane action films. Let’s hope he lives up to the massive expectations that has risen after the coming together of Hrithik and Tiger.

‘War’ is scheduled for a grand release on October 2, 2019.

Dulquer Salmaan’s Tamil rom-com film Kannum Kannum Kollai Adithaal (KKKA) has long been in the making. The movie was supposed to hit screens by last year end itself but it got postponed indefinitely. Finally, it seems like all the issues have been resolved as the makers have released the first look poster. Lead actors Dulquer Salmaan and Ritu Varma feature in the poster.

The movie is directed by debutant Desingh Periyasamy. Dulquer reportedly plays the role of Sidharth aka Sid, a happy-go-lucky IT professional. Ritu, popular for her performance in the Telugu film ‘Pelli Choopulu’, has been paired with him. From the posters itself, we can make out that the movie will be a colourful rom-com. Noted television host Rakshan, Niranjani Ahathian and ace filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon will also be seen in major roles.

KKKA has KM Bhaskar as the cinematographer and Praveen Antony as the editor. Popular music band Masala Cafe have been signed to compose songs for the movie. Background score is done by Harsh Vardhan Rameshwar. The movie is produced jointly by Anto Joseph Film Company and Viacom 18 Studios.

Last day, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran wrote a brief note about the movie on his official social media handle. Prithviraj is not someone who is not known for being vocal about expressing his views on others films. So, it seems like the actor was really impressed by the film. He has written,

After the highly impressive trailer, the makers of Vineeth Sreenivasan starrer ‘Thanneer Mathan Dinangal’ have released the first song online. The track titled ‘Jaathikkathottam’ is a lovely romantic song that follows the innocent teenage love that buds between the characters played by Mathew Thomas and Anaswara Rajan. Soumya Ramakrishnan and Devadutt Bijibal have rendered the song, which is set to tunes by Justin Varghese. Suhail Koya has penned the lyrics.

‘Thanneer Mathan Dinangal’ is directed by debutant Girish AD, who was also one of the scriptwriters of ‘Allu Ramendran’. The movie has Mathew Thomas and Anaswara Rajan in the roles. Vineeth Sreenivasan is also essaying a prominent role in the movie. It is being produced jointly by Jomon T John, Shameer Muhammed and Shebin Backer under the banners of Plain J Studios and Shebin Backer Productions.

Girish AD has scripted ‘Thanneer Mathan Dinangal’ jointly with another debutant, Dinoy Paulose. Apart from production, Jomon has also cranked the camera and music is by Justin Varghese of ‘Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela’ fame.

‘Shubharathri’, which hit screens on July 6, is doing well in theatres. The movie starring Dileep and Siddique in the lead roles is written and directed by Vyasan KP. Its success celebration was held at the location of Dileep’s ongoing movie ‘Jack Daniel’. Photos of the cake cutting was shared in Dileep’s official social media handle.

‘Shubharathri’ is a feel good film based on real life events. The story revolves around Mohammed (Siddique), a do-gooder Muslim man who is getting ready for his Hajj piligramage. The day before his journey, he encounters an unexpected situation through which Krishnan (Dileep) comes into his life. How they resolve it forms the rest of the plot. The movie basically sends out a message about religious harmony and the need for compassion among humans.

‘Shubharathri’ also stars Anu Sithara, Shanthi Krishna, Sheelu Abraham, Asha Sarath, Nadirshah, Indrans, Nedumudi Venu, Sai Kumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Prashanth Alexander and many others. Abraham Mathew of Abaam Movies has produced the movie.

Prithviraj and Indrajith to come together once again!

The highly talented sibling duo of Malayalam cinema, Prithviraj and Indrajith are all set to team up once again. Debutant Irshad Parari will be directing the movie. He has also scripted it. The movie’s official announcement is expected to be made very shortly. Irshad is the brother of Muhsin Parari, who was the director of ‘KL 10-Path’, and co-scenarist of ‘Sudani From Nigeria’ and ‘Virus’.

It was Muhsin who broke the news recently during a casual chat with his followers in Instagram. Speculations were rife ever since a selfie of Prithviraj and Irshad’s team was shared online. It is also worth a mention that Irshad was one of the assistant directors in ‘Lucifer’, which was the directorial debut of Prithviraj.

The brother duo Prithviraj and Indrajith last worked together in ‘Lucifer’ but they did not have any combination scenes. They last shared screen space in ‘Tiyaan’, in which they both played equally important roles.
