Here’s the first look poster of Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Manoharam

After delivering a blockbuster in ‘Aravindante Athidhikal’, Vineeth Sreenivasan has been on a break for a while now. His next release will be ‘Manoharam’ directed by Anwar Saddiq. The movie’s first look poster was shared just a while back by Mammootty through his official social media handle.

Vineeth Sreenivasan has worked previously with director Anwar Sadiq in ‘Ormayundo Ee Mukham’, which was released in 2014.
Along with Vineeth, this upcoming movie also has a good lineup of supporting actors. Indrans, Basil Joseph, Deepak Parambol, Hareesh Perady, Jude Anthany Joseph, VK Prakash, Delhi Ganesh, Ahmed Siddique, Nisthar Sait, Manju Sunil, Kalaranjini, Sreelekshmi, Veena Nair and Nandini are part of the cast.

‘Manoharam’ has cinematography by Jebin Jacob and music by Sajeev Thomas, a former associate of maestro AR Rahman. Edits will be handled by Nithin Raj. The movie is being produced by Jos Chakkalakal of Chakkalakal Films.

Paadi Njan: Here’s the song making video of Thamaasha

After a brief gap of nearly a year, Vinay Forrt is back with a promising film titled ‘Thamaashaa’. The movie’s first look was released and it looks like he plays the role of a school teacher. Last day, a making video of the song ‘Paadi Njan’ was released online. Shahabaz Aman is lending his voice to the track, that has lyrics penned by writer-director Muhsin Parari. Rex Vijayan and Shahbaz have composed the track.

‘Thamaasha’ is written and directed by debutant Ashraf Hamza. Industry insiders have pinned high hopes on the movie. ‘Kumabalangi Nights’ fame Grace Antony, Divya Prabha, Chinnu Sarojini, Navas Vallikkunnu, Arun Kurian and Arya Salim are part of the movie. Some big names are there in its production side as well. Sameer Thahir, Shyju Khalid, Lijo Jose Pellissery and Chemban Vinod Jose are coming together to produce the movie.

Happy Hours Entertainment, owned by Sameer Thahir and Shyju Khalid, had last produced the widely acclaimed ‘Sudani From Nigeria’.
Along with production, Sameer is also cranking the camera. Rex Vijayan and Shahabaz Aman are handling the music department. Sadique Mohammed Ali is the editor.

Thala Ajith’s next release is the much awaited ‘Nerkond Paarvai’,. The movie directed by H Vinoth is the remake of acclaimed Hindi film ‘Pink’. Boney Kapoor, husband of late actress Sridevi, is producing the movie, which is scheduled for release on August 10. There is a buzz going around in social medias about the makers planning to release a teaser on Ajith’s birthday, which falls on May 1.

‘Nerkonda Paarvai’ has Ajith reprising Amitabh Bachchan’s role from the original. Shraddha Srinath is essaying the role played by Taapsee Pannu. Vidya Balan is making her Tamil debut by playing Ajith’s wife. Kalki Koechlin will be making a guest appearance in a song. The cast also includes Abhirami Venkatachalam, Andrea Tariang, Rangaraj Pandey, Arjun Chidambaram, Adhik Ravichandran, Aswin Rao and Sujith Shankar.

Nirav Shah has cranked the camera and Yuvan Shankar Raja handles the music department. The movie has high expectations among the audience since Ajith is doing something different from the regular commercial format after a very long gap. ‘Pink’ was a widely acclaimed film that went on to win a National award. Basil Joseph celebrates his birthday on the sets of Manoharam

Basil Joseph, who started his career as a director, is a busy actor these days. He is part of several upcoming films in Malayalam. Last day, he celebrated his birthday on the sets of ‘Manoharam’ which has his mentor Vineeth Sreenivasan in the lead. Basil shared photos of his birthday celebration in his social media handle and thanked all those who wished him.

‘Manoharam’ is directed by Anwar Saddiq of ‘Ormayundo Ee Mukham’ fame. The movie also stars Indrans, Deepak Parambol, Hareesh Perady, Jude Anthany Joseph, VK Prakash, Delhi Ganesh, Ahmed Siddique, Kalaranjini, Sreelekshmi, Veena Nair and Nandini. Its first look poster will be released today by Mammootty.

Besides ‘Manoharam’, Basil Joseph is also part of movies like ‘Virus’, Santosh Sivan’s ‘Jack and Jill’, ‘OP 160/18 Kakshi : Amminippilla’ and an untitled Shane Nigam starrer. He is also set to direct a desi superhero flick titled ‘Minnal Murali’. The movie marks his reunion with his ‘Godha’ actor Tovino Thomas.

Debutant director Manu Ashokan’s ‘Uyare’ starring Parvathy, Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas in the lead roles had hit screens last Friday. Bobby and Sanjay have scripted the film. Three new producers Shenuga
Shegna and Sherga are backing it under the banner of S Cube Films.

‘Uyare’ has opened to unanimously positive response, both from the critics and the common audience. Positive reviews are pouring in from all corners. ‘Uyare’ is basically the story of an acid attack survivor, but it has some very interestingly sketched characters and progressive politics.

Besides the critics and common audience, even celebrities are sharing great things about ‘Uyare’. Filmmakers Sathyan Anthikad, Madhupal, Jude Anthany Joseph, Arun Gopy, politician VM Sudheeran, playback singer Sithara Krishnakumar, writer Deepa Nishanth and many others have written highly about the movie in their respective social media handles.

Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Oru Yamandan Premakadha’ (OYP) continues to do excellent business in the weekend. The movie is having high occupancy in all major centres. Meanwhile, the makers have released a new song from the movie. The romantic song titled ‘Kanno Nilakayal’ is rendered by Najim Arshad. BK Harinarayanan has penned the lyrics and is composed by Nadhirshah.

‘OYP’ is directed by debutant BC Naufal and scripted by Bibin George-Vishnu Unnikrishnan duo. As promised, the movie is a full-on fun filled mass entertainer on the lines of the writer duo’s previous films, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ and ‘Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan’. Kanchana remake starring Akshay Kumar titled Laaxmi Bomb

We had recently reported about Akshay Kumar starring in the remake of blockbuster Tamil film ‘Kanchana’ aka ‘Muni 2’. Raghava Lawrence, who directed and starred in the original, is helming the remake version as well. The Hindi version has been titled as ‘Laaxmi Bomb’ and shoot has already commenced. Writer-director Farhad Samji has adapted the script to make it suitable for the sensibilities of the Hindi audience.

‘Kanchana’, the second instalment in the ‘Muni’ franchise, revolves around the series protagonist Raghava and a transgender ghost. The novel element of a transgender being shown in good light was the movie’s USP. Sarath Kumar’s stellar performance as the transgender got widespread appreciation. In the Hindi version, it is said that Akshay Kumar will be reprising the role played by Lawrence. Kiara Advani is the female lead. Though the makers are yet to reveal who will be essaying the transgender part, names like Amitabh Bachchan, Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt are doing the rounds in social medias.

Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz to start rolling in October

Recently, Mohanlal made a huge announcement about his directorial debut. The news created waves in social medias with even celebrities sharing their excitement. After four decades of acting, the superstar is turning a director with an ambitious 3D film. Titled as ‘Barroz’, the film is based on a mythical story set in the Portuguese backdrop. Jijo Punnoose, the visionary filmmaker who made India’s first 3D film ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’, has penned the story.

‘Barroz Guardian Of D’ Gama’s Treasure’ is the story of Barroz, a mythical figure who was the guardian of Vasco da Gama’s valuable treasures for 400 years. The movie is being planned to be made in 3D format on a massive scale with actors from Hollywood and across India. If things turn out as per plans, shoot will commence in October.

Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas is producing this mega budget project. The makers are planning to shoot in exotic locations in Goa, Portugal and several other foreign countries. It will also be dubbed and released in all major Indian languages. Casting and other pre-production works are underway and an official announcement with full details will be made after its completion.

Dileep is currently shooting for ‘Jack Daniel’ directed by SL Puram Jayasurya of ‘Speed Track’ fame. Along with Dileep, the movie also has veteran Tamil actor Arjun in a prominent role. Though it has been a couple of weeks since shoot commenced, Arjun joined the team only last day. The actor, fondly called as ‘action king’, is making a comeback to Malayalam after a long gap. He is also part of Priyadarshan’s multi-starrer biggie ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’.

‘Jack Daniel’ marks Dileep’s first film with Arjun. It is said to be an action-packed film planned on a big scale. Shibu Thameens of Thameens Films is producing the film. Anju Kurian of ‘Kavi Udheshichathu’ and ‘Njan Prakashan’ fame is the female lead. Saiju Kurup, Devan and Aju Varghese are also part of the cast.

Peter Hein is handling the action choreography and music is by Gopi Sunder. The movie has cinematography by Sivakumar Vijayan, who has cranked camera for Tamil films like ‘NGK’, ‘Iraivi’ and ‘Irudhi Suttru’.

Karthi’s new film with Malayali filmmaker Jeethu Joseph was officially launched last day with a pooja ceremony. This yet-to-be titled film has Karthi, Jyothika and Sathyaraj in the lead roles. Parallel Minds is producing the film and it will be presented by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

Govind Vasantha has been signed as the composer. Post the smashing success of ’96’, Govind is now one of the most wanted composers in Tamil film industry. He already has several projects in his kitty. It will be interesting to see his work in Jeethu Joseph’s film, which is touted to be a family drama.

Karthi and Jyothika will be seen as siblings in the film, while Sathyaraj plays their father. This is the first time Jyothika and her brother-in-law Karthi are acting together and their on-screen chemistry will be something exciting to look forward to. Malayali actors Anson Paul, Hareesh Peradi and Ilavarasu are also part of the cast.
