Ittymaani Made In China will be an action-comedy entertainer

Mohanlal’s new movie ‘Ittymaani Made In China’ is scheduled to go on floors on April 25. Debutant director duo Jibi and Joju are helming the movie, which is said to be an action comedy entertainer. The movie has Mohanlal as Ittymani, who is based in Kunnamkulam. will be speaking in a funny Thrissur dialect in the movie. It will be a refreshing change as it’s been a while since Mohanlal has done a fun entertainer.

‘Ittymaani Made In China’ has Honey Rose as the female lead. Veteran Tamil actress Radhika Sarathkumar, Aju Varghese, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Kailas, Soubin Shahir, Siddique, Salim Kumar, Hareesh Kanaran, Johny Antony, Nandu, Swasika, Vinu Mohan and Hareesh Kanaran are also part of the supporting cast.

Shaji Kumar is the cinematographsr and Sooraj ES, the editor. Kailas Menon of ‘Theevandi’ fame has been signed as the music director Antony Perumbavoor is producing the movie under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.

Uyare trailer garners excellent response in social medias

The trailer of ‘Uyare’ was released last day in social medias and it is getting fabulous response from the viewers. The movie looks super promising and assures of a great performance from its lead actor Parvathy. From the trailer, we make out that it’s an inspiring tale of an acid attack victim who through her determination achieves her ambition of becoming a pilot.

Directed by debutant Manu Ashokan, Uyare has Parvathy and Asif Ali in the lead roles. Tovino Thomas is also there in a brief yet prominent role. Samyuktha Menon, Anarkali Marakkar, Siddique, Prathap Pothen, Prem Prakash, Bhagath Manuel and many others are part of the supporting cast.

The movie’s trailer was shared by many celebrities like Indrajith Sukumaran, Aju Varghese, Rima Kallingal and many others. In YouTube, the video has fetched over 3.75 lakh views and is currently at the fourth position in the trending list. Uyare marks the maiden the production venture of S Cube Films. The movie is expected to hit screens on April 26.

Priya and Kunchacko Boban have been married for 14 years. They celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary earlier this month on April 2. Wishes are pouring in for the couple from fans, well wishers and industry colleagues.

Unni Mukundan and Noorin Shereef to team up for Chocolate: Retold

We had earlier reported about Unni Mukundan starring in a movie titled ‘Chocolate: Retold’. As the title suggests, it will be a retelling of the
2007-released Prithviraj starrer ‘Chocolate’. Writer-director Sethu, who scripted the original film with Sachi, is helming this one independently. Shoot for the movie is scheduled to commence in July.

‘Chocolate: Retold’ will have Unni Mukundan as Abhimanyu, who lands in a women’s college of over 3000 girl students. Noorin Shereef has been signed as the female lead. Though ‘Oru Adaar Love’ ended up as a failure, Noorin’s performance was noted and critics rated her as a promising talent. This upcoming movie has her playing a college student, a character that’s reminiscent of the one played by Roma in ‘Chocolate’.

Unni Mukundan meanwhile is busy shooting for ‘Maamaankam’. The period film starring Mammootty in the lead has Unni in a prominent role as a warrior. The actor has been putting in a lot of efforts to build a chiselled physique as his character demands it. He has also signed a new film in Malayalam and another one in Tamil.

As informed earlier by the makers, the official trailer of ‘Uyare’ has been released online. The movie directed by debutant Manu Ashokan has Parvathy and Asif Ali in the lead roles. Prem Prakash and many others are part of the cast.

‘Uyare’ scripted by Bobby-Sanjay duo has Parvathy playing a pilot aspirant who later becomes an acid attack victim. The actress had put in lot of efforts for this movie and that’s evident from the trailer. She had visited the Sheroes Hangout in Agra, which is run by a group of acid attack survivors to learn about their lives, their lifestyle and how the attack affected them, both physically and mentally. Besides that, she had also learnt the basics of aircraft flying from an aviation institute. It is a very challenging role and Parvathy is said to have delivered her career best performance.

Uyare’s technical crew comprises of cinematographer Mukesh Muraleedharan, editor Mahesh Narayanan and music director Gopi Sunder. S Cube Films, a newly launched banner, is producing the movie.

Earlier on the opening day itself, the movie had earned Rs 9 crores. Even during working days, theatres are having good occupancy with special shows added in a few centres to accommodate the crowd.

‘Madhura Raja’ delivered exactly what it promised – an out and out mass entertainer for the festival season. It is exactly the kind of film that the audience love to watch and enjoy during this holiday period. Apart from doing excellent business in Kerala, the movie is also doing well in overseas centres, particularly in UAE.

Emraan Hashmi to star in the Hindi remake of Ezra

Prithviraj’s 2017 horror flick ‘Ezra’ is getting remade in Hindi with Emraan Hashmi in the lead. Jay R Krishnan, who directed the original, will be helming the remake as well. Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Krishan Kumar and Abhishek Pathak will be producing the movie. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the project by tweeting,

‘Ezra’ was one of the biggest commercial hits in Malayalam in 2017. The movie stood out for the novelty in its plot and the top quality production values. It is said to be the first Indian movie with a horror theme set in a Jewish backdrop. It was also regarded as the first attempt in making a proper horror flick in Malayalam rather than the usual horror comedies. Last year, the movie was selected for screening at the 22nd Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.

We had recently reported about Vijay Sethupathi joining the sets of ‘Marconi Mathai’, which marks her debut in Malayalam. The movie starring Jayaram in the lead is directed by Sanil Kalathil. While there were several speculations about Vijay Sethupathi’s role in the movie, it has now been revealed that the actor plays himself in the movie. It is more of a guest appearance, but the character has much prominence in the storyline.

‘Marconi Mathai’ has Jayaram playing Mathai, an ex-military man who works as a security at a bank. The story revolves around Mathai’s romance with Anna, a sweeper woman working in the same bank. Vijay Sethupathi is currently shooting with the team in Kochi.

Director Sanil Kalathil has scripted the movie jointly with Rejish Midhila. Sajan Kalathil is the cinematographer and M Jayachandran is the composer. Shameer Muhammed is in charge of the edits. The movie marks Satyam Audios’ entry to production.

Huge sets sprawling over 18 acres erected for Maamaankam

‘Maamaankam’ is one of the biggest films getting ready in Malayalam. Directed by M Padmakumar, this period flick is about ‘Maamaankam’, a medieval fair where brave warriors from various regions would come together to showcase their skills at combat. The movie has Mammootty in the lead role of a fiery ‘Chaaver’ (warrior). The movie revolves around the life of these warriors who plot to defeat the Zamorin rulers.

The makers have erected huge sets in over 18 acres for the movie. According to them, it is one of the biggest ever set work in Indian cinema. The team has already shot in various locations across Kannur, Ernakulam, Ottappalam and Athirapally.

‘Maamaankam’ is a much talked about movie as it was hit by various controversies. For a brief period, the movie was shelved after the unceremonious ousting of its original director Sajeev Pillai and his crew. M Padmakumar is helming the film now with a new set of actors and technicians.

Besides Mammootty, the movie also has Unni Mukundan in a prominent role as Chandroth Panicker. Kaniha and Anu Sithara play the two female leads. Tarun Raj Arora, Prachi Tehlan, Sudev Nair, Siddique, Abu Salim, Sudheer Sukumaran and many others are part of the cast. Venu Kunnappilly is producing the movie under the banner of Kavya Films.
