Here’s SJ Suryah and Amitabh Bachchan, from the sets of his next Uyarndha Manithan

As reported by us earlier, Amitabh Bachchan is making his acting debut in Tamil with a movie titled ‘Uyarndha Manithan’. Filmmaker-turned-actor SJ Suryah is also playing a prominent role in the movie. Shoot commenced recently and the makers have now released few location stills featuring the two lead actors.

‘Uyarndha Manithan’ is being directed by ‘Kalvanin Kadhali’ fame Tamizhvaanan. The movie was first in the news in 2016 when director Tamizhvaanan approached Amitabh Bachchan with the script. It took over two years for the director to convince the superstar and get him on board. He has reportedly allotted 40 days from his busy schedule for the film. He will be shooting his portions in a single stretch.

The movie has been planned as a bilingual in Tamil and Hindi. It is being produced by Thiruchendur Murugan Productions. More details regarding the other cast and crew members is expected to be officially announced shortly.

Mohanlal starrer Lucifer got released in Kerala and overseas centres like UAE and USA on Marich 28. It was released in rest of India centres a day after that on March 29. In Tamil Nadu box office, the movie is doing extremely well particularly in Chennai. Due to high demand, extra shows are being added in major centres like Mayajaal.

Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai has tweeted,

‘Lucifer’ has taken the second biggest opening in Kerala and is certain to continue this good run in the coming weeks as well. If the initial response is anything to go by, there are high chances for the movie to emerge as one of the highest grossers in Malayalam.

Madura Raja gearing up for release; Climax re-recording started

‘Madura Raja’ is currently in the final stages of post-production. Director Vysakh took to his social media handle to share a photo taken with editor Mahesh Narayanan and composer Gopi Sunder. The movie is most likely to hit screens on April 12, so a full fledged trailer is expected to be released before that.

‘Madura Raja’ has Mammootty reprising his character from the 2010 blockbuster film, ‘Pokkiri Raja’. Udhayakrishna, who wrote the original along with Sibi K Thomas, has scripted this one alone. This upcoming movie is touted to be a mass entertainer much bigger in terms of scale and production values.

‘Madura Raja’ has an elaborate cast comprising of four female leads in Anusree, Shamna Kasim, Anna Reshma and Mahima Nambiar. Sunny Leone has also performed a special dance number in the movie. Tamil actor Jai makes his Malayalam debut by playing a prominent role. Jagapathi Babu will be seen as the villian.

Prabhudeva and Salman Khan team up for Dabaang 3

Salman Khan’s ‘Dabaang’ is one of the most popular franchises in Bollywood. Salman plays an eccentric cop, Chulbul Pandey in the series. After the superhit success of the first two parts, the third instalment has formally been kick-started today. Prabhudeva is directing the movie, which is expected to be an out and out mass action-packed entertainer on the lines of the first two films.

Salman will be reprising Chulbul Pandey’ part. Sonakshi Sinha and Kannada actor Sudeep are also part of the cast. ‘Dabaang 3’ is more of a prequel that will show how Pandey became the Robinhood like cop. Salman is quoted saying, “The story starts in the present and then it goes back to the past, and then comes back to the present day again. It will have a prequel portion, but only as a flashback.”

‘Dabaang 3’ is produced by Salman Khan Films and Arbaaz Khan Productions. This is Salman’s second film with Prabhudeva. They had earlier teamed up in 2009 for the blockbuster movie ‘Wanted’. Prabhudeva has also made other mass entertainers in Bollywood like ‘Rowdy Rathore’, ‘R… Rajkumar’, ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’, ‘Action Jackson’ and ‘Singh is Bling’.

Scottish Parliamentarian Martyn Day attends Lucifer fans show!

Mohanlal starrer ‘Lucifer’ is scaling new heights as the movie has registered some huge numbers at the box office from the opening weekend. Apart from Kerala, the movie is doing extremely well in Gulf regions and US. Record number of shows are being played in most centres and the movie is well on course to become one of Malayalam cinema’s all time highest grossers.

Mohanlal fans have arranged special shows in several overseas centres. In London’s Boleyn Cinema, the fans show had a distinguish guest in the form of Martyn Day, a Member of Parliament for Linlithgow and East Falkirk. Day, who is married to a Malayali, has been a big fan of Malayalam movies, particularly those of Mohanlal and Mammootty.
He attended ‘Lucifer’ fans show along with his wife and both were very impressed by the movie. A video in which he is seen talking about the movie has gone viral.

Martyn Day has expressed his love for Malayalam movies through his writings in Facebook. He has written about movies like ‘Pazhassi Raja’ and ‘Thanmathra’.

Asif Ali starrer ‘OP 160/18 Kakshi : Amminippilla’ is getting ready to hit screens this month. Last day, the makers released new character introduction posters. Ahmmed Siddique plays the role ofShajith Kumar Amminipilla. Basil Joseph’s character is named Pilakool Shamsi and Vijayaraghavan is advocate RP. The movie directed by debutant Dinjith Ayyathan is a court-room drama set in Thalassery.

Sanilesh Shivan has scripted the movie which is centred around the case of a newly wed couple Shajith Kumar Amminipilla and his wife Kanthi Sivadasan. The former approaches advocate Pradeepan Manjodi, a political aspirant who initially refuses but later takes up the case, which gives the storyline a twist. Asif Ali essays the role of advocate Pradeepan.

Others in the cast include Nirmal Palazhy, Sudheesh, Mamukkoya, Sreekanth Murali, Lukman, Babu Annur, Aswathy Manoharan, Shibla and Sarayu Mohan. The movie has songs composed by Arun Muraleedharan and Samuel Aby while background score is done by Jakes Bejoy. Bahul Ramesh has handled the camera and edits are by Sooraj ES. Riju Rajan is producing the movie under the banner of Zarah Films.

Goodwill Entertainments set to announce three big projects!!

Goodwill Entertainments is a leading banner in Malayalam noted for producing films like ‘Abrahaminte Santhathikal’, ‘Kasaba, ‘Ann Maria Kalippilanu’, ‘Captain’ and ‘Jo and the Boy’. Joby George who heads the production house has informed that they will be announcing three big projects on Easter Day, which falls on April 21.

Mammootty has frequently collaborated with Goodwill Entertainments and hence it is believed he will be starring in atleast one of these projects. The megastar is in talks for a mass entertainer with director Ajai Vasudev, which is said to be scripted by a debutant writer duo. It is most likely that Goodwill Entertainments will be producing this film.

Mammootty is currently shooting for ‘Maamaankam’. He had recently wrapped up his portions for ‘Unda’, directed by Khalid Rahman. ‘Ameer’ with Vinod Vijayan and ‘Ganagandharvan’ with Ramesh Pisharody are his other upcoming films. The actor’s much-awaited ‘Madura Raja’ is also getting ready to hit screens for Vishu.

Tovino Thomas’ new film ‘Kalki’ formally went on floors only recently. The movie directed by debutant Praveen Prabharam has Tovino playing a police officer. As a first, the makrrs have released a prelog teaser in social medias. The teaser is also being played in theatres playing ‘Lucifer’. It will also be screened alongside ‘Madura Raja’ and ‘Mera Naam Shaji’.

Though Tovino has played cop roles in films like ‘Ezra’ and ‘Tharangam’, this will be his first film in which he will be seen in a full fledged police officer role. It is also said to be his first full length mass entertainer. On the launch day, the actor was seen sporting a handlebar moustache and it we guess it to be one of his looks in the movie.

Tovino has also been putting in a lot of efforts to develop a bulky physique. According to the makers, Tovino’s character in the movie will be larger than life like a mass hero. The highly anticipated teaser of Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Oru Yamandan Premakadha’ (OYP) got released last day in social medias. The colorful teaser is reminiscent of the mass entertainers made in Tamil and Telugu. Debutant BC Naufal is directing the movie and the superhit writer duo of Bibin George and Vishnu Unnikrishnan have scripted it.

‘OYP’ is It is touted to be a full-on commercial mass entertainer on the lines of the writer duo’s previous films, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ and ‘Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan’. Dulquer is making his return to Malayalam after over a year and so naturally expectations are high for the movie. He plays a Kochi based local chap named Lallu.

The movie has two female leads in Nikhila Vimal and ‘Theevandi’ fame Samyuktha Menon. Arun Kurian, Hareesh Kanaran, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Salim Kumar, Soubin Shahir, Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bibin George are also part of the movie’s supporting cast.

Nadirshah is composing the songs and cinematography is by P Sukumar. Anto Joseph is producing the movie under his banner, Anto Joseph Film Company.

As reported by us earlier, ‘Kismath’ director Shanavas K Bavakutty’s next has Vinayakan in the lead. The movie titled as ‘Thottappan’ is based on the book of the same name by Francis Noronha. Last day, a new poster featuring Dileesh Pothan and Vinayakan was released in social medias.

‘Thottappan’ marks Vinayakan’s debut as a lead actor. The movie has him playing a girl child’s godfather (thalathottappan). PS Rafeeque has written the screenplay based on Francis Noronha’s story. It explores the relationship between a godfather and his goddaughter.

The movie looks very promising and director Shanavas firmly believes that Vinayakan has put up his finest performance so far.
Along with Vinayakan, the cast also includes newcomer Priyamvada, Lal, Roshan Mathew, Manoj K Jayan, Reghunath Paleri, Kochu Preman and Pauly Valsan as part of the cast.

In the technical crew, Suresh Rajan is handling the camera and Jithin Manohar is in charge of the edits. Leela L Girikkuttan is composing the songs and Justin Varghese is handling the background score.

Devadas Kadanjeri and Shailaja Manikandan are producing the movie under the banner of Pattam Cinema Company.
