Confirmed: Keerthy Suresh to be paired with Ajay Devgn in her Bollywood debut

Recently, there was a buzz about Keerthy Suresh planning to foray into Bollywood. The official announcement of her Hindi debut was made just a while back. She will be paired with Ajay Devgn in ‘Badhaai Ho’ fame Amit Sharma’s next. Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta will be jointly producing the movie.

India’s leading trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the same by tweeting,

IT’S OFFICIAL… Keerthy Suresh – a leading name in South Indian films – to make her Hindi film debut opposite Ajay Devgn… #BadhaaiHo director Amit Sharma will direct… Produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta.

Keerthy Suresh is currently one of the top heroines in the South. In a career spanning just over five years, the pretty actress has worked with almost all the big stars in South including Mohanlal, Vijay, Suriya, Dhanush, Dileep, Nani, Pawan Kalyan and Vikram.

Her Bollywood debut with Ajay Devgn is said to be based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, former Indian football coach, known as the architect of modern football in India. He had lead Indian football team to the semifinals of 1956 Melbourne Olympics.

Sivakarthikeyan’s new film (SK 15) with director PS Mithran of ‘Irumbuthirai’ fame was launched today. The movie titled as ‘Hero’ is being produced by RD Raja’s 24 AM Studios and KJR Studios. The movie touted to be an action-thriller has ‘action king’ Arjun in a key role. Kalyani Priyadarshan will be making her Tamil debut with this movie. Kalyani has also signed another Tamil film named ‘Vaan’, in which she will be playing one of the three female leads alongside Dulquer Salmaan.

According to director Mithran, ‘Hero’ will be on the lines of ‘Irumbuthirai’, with a very relevant social message in it. ‘Naachiyar’ fans Ivana has also been roped in to essay a crucial role. George C Willaims will be cranking the camera and Ruben will be handling the edits. Yuvan Shankar Raja has been signed as the music director.

Sivakarthikeyan meanwhile has two other films coming up – ‘Mr Local’ with director M Rajesh and a sci-fi film with Ravi Kumar of ‘Indru Netru Naalai’ fame.

Grand trailer launch for Lucifer; Here’s the trailer release date

Mohanlal starrer Lucifer is getting ready for a grand worldwide release this month. Promotions are currently on in full swing. The makers have planned a grand trailer launch on March 22 in Dalma Mall, Abu Dhabi. Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas, Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Murali Gopy and Antony Perumbavoor will be attending the trailer launch event.

Lucifer is gearing up to hit screens amidst massive hype. The movie marks the first time coming together of Mohanlal and Prithviraj, and so expectations are huge among the audience. Murali Gopy has scripted the movie as a political thriller and Mohanlal plays the role of a big shot politician Stephen Nedumbally.

Lucifer has a star studded cast comprising of Indrajith, Tovino, Vivek Oberoi, Manju Warrier, Bala, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Nyla Usha, Sai Kumar, Nandu, Saniya Iyappan, John Vijay, Sachin Khedekar, Fazil Shaun Romy and many others. Sujith Vaassudev has cranked the camera and music department is handled by Deepak Dev.

Mohanlal’s own banner Aashirvad Cinemas is producing the movie, which is scheduled for release on March 28.

After receiving the Padma Bhushan award from the honourable President of, Mohanlal has returned back to Hyderabad to join the sets of ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’. Earlier in the day, team had a small celebration at the location to honour Mohanlal. Suneil Shetty, Nedumudi Venu, director Priyadarshan and production designer Sabu Cyril were present for the cake cutting.

We were among the first to report about Parvathy signing a new film with actor-turned-filmmaker Sidhartha Siva. The movie titled as ‘Varthamanam’ has started rolling in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. National award winner Aryadan Shoukath has scripted the movie based on the issues faced by college students in New Delhi.

Director Sidhartha Siva is well known for helming films like ‘101 Chodyangal’, ‘Ain’, and ‘Sakhavu’. His debut film ‘101 Chodyangal’ had won him the National Film Award for Best Debut film of a Director in 2012. Two years later, his film ‘Ain’ also won a National Award; this time for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. When he teams up with a proven actress like Parvathy, also a National award winner, cinephiles can expect to see another quality film.

Roshan Mathew, noted for his roles in movies like ‘Aanandam’ and ‘Koode’, is playing a major role in ‘Varthamanam’. Siddique, Dain Davis and a bunch of North Indian actors are also part of the movie’s cast. Veteran Alagappan is cranking the camera and Vinesh Banglan is handling the art department.

Aryadan Shoukath is producing the movie along with re. Benazeer of Benzy Productions is producing the movie. Kerala and Delhi are the major locations.

KGF Chapter 2: Second installment of KGF begins

Rocking Star Yash’s ‘KGF’ has been one of the most talked about movies in Indian cinema in recent times. Releasing last December, the multilingual film emerged as a huge blockbuster across the country. Fans, cinephiles and critics alike are eagerly waiting for the second chapter. The second installment was launched today with a customary pooja ceremony. The team offered prayers at Kodandaram temple, Vijayanagar.

Prashanth Neel, who scripted and directed the first part, will be helming the second installment as well. The first part was basically a build up to what is to follow. It was primarily centred round Raja Krishnappa Bairya aka Rocky, born into poverty, who arrives in Mumbai in the 1960s, on a quest for power and wealth. It showed how Rocky emerges as a dreaded gangster and gets involved with the gold mafia. Circumstances land him in Kolar Gold Fields, from where the core plot actually kicks in. The first part had a cliffhanger ending, so everyone is excited about the next installment.

According to the makers, KGF Chapter 2 is going to be bigger and better. Let’s wait and see.

Indrajith’s character in the movie is named Govardhan and a new poster featuring him was released by the makers today. ‘Lucifer’ is scripted by Murali Gopy, with whom Indrajith shares a great rapport.

Some of Indrajith’s most popular characters like Vattu Jayan (Left Right Left) and Vettu Vishnu (Ee Adutha Kaalath) were all written by Murali Gopy. So, it will be interesting to see what the writer has in store for Indrajith this time.

Three heroines in Jayaram’s Pattabhiraman

As reported by us recently, Jayaram and director Kannan Thamarakkulam are reuniting for a new movie. The actor-director duo is coming together for the fourth time for a movie titled ‘Pattabhiraman’. Jayaram plays the titular role in the movie, which comes with the tagline ‘Iyer The Great’. Dinesh Pallath has scripted the movie and Abraham Mathew is producing it under the banner of Abaam Movies.

According to the makers, ‘Pattabhiraman’ is a light hearted flick that also intends to pass a social message. Jayaram plays the role of a government officer in the movie. Miya George, Parvathy Nambiar and Shamna Kasim will be appearing in prominent roles. While the former two have already acted with Jayaram, this will be Shamna’s first film with the veteran. Others in the movie’s cast include Baiju, Hareesh Kanaran, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Ramesh Pisharody and Sheelu Abraham.

On the technical front, M Jayachandran will be handling the music department and camera will be wielded by Ravi Shankar. Shoot is scheduled to kick-start from this month end.

‘Kalank’, the upcoming multi-starrer from Bollywood is getting ready for release next month. The movie’s grand teaser launch event was held today in Mumbai. This Abishek Varman directorial has Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is producing the mega budget movie.

The 2-minute long teaser looks stunning and reminds instantly of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films with the grandeur in setting. The movie is an epic love story is set in the 1940s. Sridevi was originally supposed to play the female lead but after her tragic demise last year, Madhuri Dixit was signed for the role. ‘Kalank’ marks the return of the popular on-screen pair of the 90s, Madhuri and Sanjay Dutt, who mesmerised fans with their sizzling chemistry in movies like ‘Saajan’, ‘Khalnayak’ among others.

Abhishek Varman, who made an impressive directorial debut with ‘2 States’, has also penned the screenplay for ‘Kalank’. Story is written by Shibani Bathija. Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment are jointly producing this movie, which is slated to hit screens worldwide on April 19, 2019.

Dileep’s new movie ‘Shubharathri’ went on floors last day (March 11) in Ernakulam. A few location stills have been shared by the makers in their social media handle. Dileep and Anu Sithara play a couple in this movie written and directed by Vyasan KP. Abraham Mathew of Abaam Movies is producing the movie.

Director Vyasan last helmed the critically acclaimed film, ‘Ayal Jeevichiruppund’. He had also written the screenplay for films like ‘Avatharam’ and ‘Metro’. According to the director, ‘Shubharathri’, is a movie based on some real life events and has high scope of performance for its lead actors.
