Aanakallan successfully enters its second week of theatrical run!

Biju Menon’s latest release ‘Aanakallan’ has successfully entered its second week of theatrical run. The movie has found acceptance among the family audience who seek pure entertainment. Directed by Suresh Divakar of ‘Ivan Maryadharaman’ fame, the movie us is a murder mystrey with good dose of fun in it.

Udhyakrishna, known for his commercial scripts, has followed his usual pattern but has still managed to include enough elements to entertain a commoner. The movie has an elaborate supporting cast, including two female leads in Anusree and Shamna Kasim. Bala, Siddique, Sai Kumar, Kailas, Sarayu, Sudheer Karamana, Hareesh Kanaran, Suresh Krishna, Devan, Anil Murali, Janardhanan, Bindu Panicker and Priyanka are also part of the movie.

In the technical crew, Alby cranks the camera and John Kutty is in charge of the edits. Nadirshah has handled the music department. Biju Menon has also lent his voice for a fun track in the movie. ‘Aanakallan’ is being produced under the banner of Saptha Tarang Cinema.

It’s U/A for Sarkar; Here’s the release date!

Vijay starrer Sarkar has been censored with a U/A certificate by the censor board officials. As the censoring has been done, the makers, Sun Pictures, have officially announced the release date through their social media handle. Sarkar will be hitting screens worldwide on November 6, Diwali day.

AR Murugadoss has made Sarkar as a political thriller based on the currently political fiasco in Tamil Nadu. The movie has Vijay playing a multi millionaire businessman, who is forced to land in politics due to circumstances. How he initiates a public uprising forms the crux of the movie. It discusses in-depth about the importance of voting and a proper governing body. Considering the genre and nature of the subject, it is understandable why the officials certified it with an U/A.

Keerthy Suresh is paired with Vijay in the movie. Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar is also there in an important character. Pala Karuppaiah, Radha Ravi, Livingston, Yogi Babu, Prem and many others are also part of the supporting cast. The technical crew includes DOP Girish Gangadharan, music director AR Rahman and editor Sreekar Prasad.

Team Lucifer to head to Mumbai for the next schedule

After completing schedules in Idukki, Ernakulam and Trivandrum, the team members of ‘Lucifer’ are next heading to Mumbai. The makers have planned to commence shooting on November 4. Before that, there will be a brief three-day long shoot in Trivandrum where portions involving Tovino and Indrajith will be shot. With that, the Kerala shoot of ‘Lucifer’ will come to an end. Dubai, Bangalore and Lakshadweep are the other locations.

‘Lucifer’, which marks the directorial debut of Prithviraj, is shaping up as a political thriller. The movie has a huge star cast led by superstar Mohanlal. Indrajith Sukumaran, Vivek Oberoi, Tovino Thomas and Manju Warrier play the other major roles. There is also an elaborate supporting cast comprising of Saniya Iyappan, Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, Nandu, John Vijay, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Thara Kalyan, Praveena Thomas and Mala Parvathy.

Murali Gopy is scripting this movie and is funded by Mohanlal’s home banner Aashirvad Cinemas. In the technical crew, Sujith Vaassudev cranks the camera and Deepak Dev handles the music department. The makers have slated the movie for a March release, next year.

Nayika Nayakan runner-up Venkitesh turns hero with ‘Das Capital’

Nayika Nayakan is a popular reality show telecast in Mazhavil Manorama channel. Lal Jose, Kunchako Boban and Samvrutha Sunil were the judges. First season of the show got over recently and Darshana S Nair was crowned as the winner. Venkitesh VP, Trivandrum based youngster, secured the runner-up position. As announced earlier by the show’s organizers, the winners have been awarded with movie offers. While Darshana will be making her debut as heroine with Lal Jose’s next film, Venkitesh has also bagged a couple of projects.

Venkitesh will be playing the lead role in director Vishak R Warrier’s movie, ‘Das Capital’. Vishak, a former associate of Lal Jose, will be making his directorial debut with the movie. Hemanth G Nair has scripted the movie that has Venkitesh playing the titular role of Das. The project was officially announced on the grand finale stage of Nayika Nayakan. Subin, Manuraj and Praveen Radhakrishnan are jointly producing the movie under the banner of Moonlight Movies.

Apart from the lead role in Das Capital, Venkitesh will also be seen in a crucial role in Lal Jose’s upcoming movie, ‘Thattumpurath Achuthan’, starring Kunchako Boban.

Randamoozham in trouble as MT Vasudevan Nair proceeds with the case!

The future of Randamoozham’s movie adaptation looks bleak as MT Vasudevan Nair has decided to proceed with the case. Kozhikode Munsif court will be hearing the case today. As we already know, Randamoozham, one of MT’s classic works, was supposed to be made as a movie with superstar Mohanlal in the lead. UAE based businessman, BR Shetty had announced that he will investing Rs 1000 crores on the movie. With the huge budget involved, the announcement had caught nationwide attention. But the project is in trouble currently with MT seeking his script back.

Earlier this month, the legendary writer had approached the court informing that he was backing out of the project. Apparently, MT is unhappy with the delay in the project materializing. He approached the court to get back his script as the contract period got over. VA Shrikumar Menon, who was supposed to direct the movie, had recently posted in his Facebook page that the project will definitely happen as talks are on with MT. However, it is now learnt that the writer has not been convinced. Talking to medias, MT confirmed that he is moving forward legally and is willing to return back the money that he got as advance.

Shrikumar Menon and his team have been working on the project for nearly three years now. Last month, the director along with producer BR Shetty were in Chicago to meet some technicians and discuss about the project. He had then informed that the movie would go on floors by mid 2019. But as of now, things are not in their favour.

As informed earlier by us, the second look poster of Thala Ajith’s new movie, Viswasam has been released today in social medias. The poster features Ajith riding a motorbike with his hands afloat. From the excessive colours in the poster and the setting, it looks like a portion from the template intro song. The movie directed by Siva is touted to be a mass commercial entertainer.

Ajith is said to be playing a dual role in the movie. The first look poster which had Ajith in two different looks also indicted the same. The team is currently in Mumbai for the final schedule of shoot. Ajith had recently completed dubbing for all his talkie portions shot so far. Nayanthara plays the female lead in the movie. Other supporting cast includes Vivek, Ravia Wana, Anikha, Thambi Ramaiah, Bose Venkat, Robo Shankar, Kovai Sarala and Yogi Babu.

Viswasam’s technical crew includes cinematographer Vetri, composer D Imman and editor Ruben. Sathya Jyothi Films is funding the movie. The makers are working hard towards a smooth release for next Pongal in January.

Vada Chennai is an epic gangster saga that spans different timelines. The movie traces the life of a set of people based in the North Chennai region. It explores in detail the social and political setting of the place and the functioning of their underworld. Mohanlal’s Markkar: Arabikadalinte Simham to have three different music directors!

As reported by us earlier, Priyadarshan’s mega budget flick Marakkar – Arabikadalinte Simham is getting ready to go on floors on December 1. After months of pre-production, the makers have finalized the cast and technical crew. Set works are progressing in Ramoji Rao Film City, where major portions will be shot. The movie has been planned to be made on a massive budget of Rs 100 crores.

In a recent interview, director Priyadarshan revealed that he is trying to experiment with the music. He has roped in three different composers, but didn’t reveal their names. Ilayaraaja, MG Sreekumar and ‘Premam’ fame Rajesh Murugesan are some of the names that are doing the rounds in social medias. Others in the technical crew include cinematographer Tirru and production designer Sabu Cyril. Some other leading technicians from abroad will also be associated with this ambitious project.

Leading actors like Arjun Sarja, Suniel Shetty, Pranav Mohanlal, Mukesh, Keerthy Suresh, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Manju Warrier and Pooja Kumar are said to be part of the cast. Few British and Chinese actors will also be seen in major roles in the movie.

Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment are coming together to produce what is one of the most expensive projects in Malayalam cinema till date. The makers are planning to complete the entire shoot by next March and the film will be hit screens only in 2020 as it demands extensive post production works.

This upcoming movie has Aparna Balamurali as Kalidas’ pair. New gen actors like Shebin Benson, Ganapathi, Esther Anil and ‘Oru Mexican Aparatha’ fame Vishnu Govindan are also part of the supporting cast. Kalidas meanwhile has a bunch of other exciting projects coming up. He will be seen as one of the leads in Santhosh Sivan’s upcoming directorial, ‘Jack and Jill’, also starring Manju Warrier. He has also committed for films with Midhun Manuel Thomas and Alphonse Puthren. A film with 100th Monkey Movies, the makers of ‘Rakshadikari Baiju’, is also in the pipeline.

Kunchacko Boban starrer ‘Johny Johny Yes Appa’ is gearing up for to hit screens. As expected, the movie has been censored with a clean U certificate. The movie has a running time of 143 minutes. Last day, the makers had released a romantic song which is grabbing attention in social medias. The movie is being directed by Marthandan and scripted by Joji Thomas of ‘Vellimoonga’ fame.

Director Marthandan is known for his films like ‘Deivathinte Swantham Cleetus’, ‘Acha Din’ and ‘Pavada’. ‘Johny Johny Yes Appa’ is also expected to be on similar lines to his earlier works. From the trailer and songs, the movie looks like a fun filled entertainer, aimed majorly at the family audience.

The movie has Anu Sithara paired opposite Kunchako Boban. Mamta Mohandas is also there in a very prominent role. Tini Tom, Sharafudheen, Kalabhavan Shajon, Vijayaraghavan, Master Sanoop Santhosh, Anikha and Geeta are also part of the supporting cast.
