Joju George to make Hindi debut with Anurag Kashyap’s film

Malayalam actor Joju George is going places. After foraying into Tamil and Telugu, th actor is now set to enter the world of Bollywood. Joju is making his Hindi debut with Anurag Kashyap’s next which also stars Bobby Deol, Saba Azad and Sanya Malhotra. The film is said to be based on a sensitive real incident and is shaping up as a thriller.

In Malayalam, Joju has his debut directorial Pani coming up. Along with him, the film also stars Rinosh George, Sagar Surya, Junaiz, Seema, Chandhini Sreedharan, Abhaya Hiranmayi and many others. Scripted and co-produced by Joju himself, the film is now in the post production stage.

We had also reported about Joju starring in Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj’s next with Suriya This will be his second collaboration with the director after Jagame Thandhiram, which also marked his Tamil debut. Joju is also part of Thug Life, the upcoming Mani Ratnam directorial featuring Kamal Haasan, Simbu and several other big names.

Mohanlal is all style and swag in Empuraan first look

Superstar Mohanlal is celebrating his birthday today and as expected team Empuraan released the first look from the film. The poster features Mohanlal in a stylish suited look, while a group of men guard him with guns. The actor is reprising his character Khureshi Abraam from Lucifer. Prithviraj Sukumaran is once again directing the film with Murali Gopy behind the script.

Along with Mohnalal, the film also see the return of actors like Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saniya Iyappan, Sai Kumar and Nandu, reprising their roles from the first part. Several new interesting additions have also been made to the cast, an offiical announcement regarding which is yet to be made.

After completing schedules in North India, UK and the US, the team is currently some crucial portions in Kerala. As per reports, the film is shaping as one of the biggest ever from Malayalam cinema, in terms of its sheer scale. Kollywood’s top banner Lyca Productions is making their Malayalam debut with this film. They are backing it jointly with Aashirvad Cinemas.

Mohanlal fans are highly excited for the return of the superstar in all his glory and there’s no better project to set eyes on than Empuraan.

Thala Ajith looks mass and stylish in the first look of Good Bad Ugly

The makers of Ajith’s new film Good Bad Ugly have released the first look in which the actor looks stylish and poster. The poster hints that the actor plays a gangster character. Ajith is seen sporting a salt and pepper look. The film is directed by Adhik Ravichandran, who last made the blockbuster, Mark Antony, a gangster comedy starring Vishal and SK Suryah.

Good Bad Ugly, which was announced in March, went on floors recently in Hyderabad. The film has Devi Sri Prasad as the music director, Abinandan Ramanujam as the DOP, Vijay Velukutty as the editor and Supreme Sundar as the action choreographer. However, the makers haven’t shared any details about the remaining cast. The film backed by Mythri Movie Makers is confirmed as a Pongal release in January, 2025.

Ajith also has Vidaa Muyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, in the line up. Also starring Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Arav, and Regina Cassandra, the film is an action packed entertainer predominantly shot in the Middle East. It is backed by Lyca Productions.

Omar Lulu’s next titled Bad Boyz; Rahman and Dhyan Sreenivasan to play leads

Omar Lulu’s next film with Rahman and Dhyan Sreenivasan has been titled Bad Boyz. The director has also written the film’s story, while its screenplay and dialogues are by Sarang Jayaprakash. The latter was the co-writer in Omar’s Dhamaka and Oru Adaar Love.

Along with Rahman and Dhyan, Bad Boyz has a huge supporting cast. It includes Babu Antony, Saiju Kurup, Bala, Bibin George, Anson Paul, Sheelu Abraham, Aradhya Ann, Senthil Krishna, Aju Varghese, Tini Tom, Harisree Ashokan, Ramesh Pisharody, Dracula Sudheer, Sohan Seenulal, Motta Rajendran, Sajin Cherukayil and Mallika Sukumaran. Besides these actors, there will also be some guest appearances.

Abraham Mathew is producing Bad Boyz under the banner of Abaam Movies. It has William Francis as the music director, cinematography by Alby and Dilip Dennis as the editor.

Fahadh Faasil and Jeethu Joseph to join hands

It has been announced that Fahadh Faasil and Jeethu Joseph would be collaborating for the first time. Actor Santhi Mayadevi is scripting the film, while detais regarding its genre or plot are not yet known. Santhi had earlier worked with Jeethu in the writing of Neru. An advocate by profession, she also acted in his film Drishyam 2.

The upcoming film produced by E4 Entertainment is expected to begin only after both Fahadh and Jeethu are free from their commitments. The director’s next release will be Nunakuzhi, starring Basil Joseph. Jeethu also has a Hindi film in the planning. Fahadh, who was last seen in Aavesham, is currently shooting for Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira. The film directed by Althaf Salim is a rom-com, which has Kalyani Priyadarshan as the heroine.

Fahadh has also committed for a few films in other languages. It includes Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, Mareesan, and the Telugu films Pushpa 2: The Rule, Oxygen and Don’t Trouble The Trouble. He is also teaming up with Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil director Vipin Das for a gangster comedy. SJ Suryah is making his Malayalam debut with this film, which is expected to begin by the end of 2024. Venkat Prabhu shares new The GOAT update

Vijay’s new film The Great of All Time aka GOAT is nearing completion. Recently, its director shared on social media that the VFX works with Vijay has been completed. The GOAT is shaping up as a spectacle heavy film with Vijay in dual roles. Said to be a sci fi thriller, the film also stars Prabhudeva, Prashanth, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Laila, Sneha, Mohan, Jayaram, Ajmal Ameer, Premji, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Parvati Nair and many others in the cast. It has music by Yuvan Shankar and cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni.

Venkat Prabhu has scripted The GOAT with K Chandru and Ezhilarasu Gunasekaran credited for additional screenplay. The film, produced by AGS Entertainment, is set for worldwide release on September 5.

Turbo count down begins as advance bookings open

The count down for Mammootty’s massively awaited film Turbo has officially begun with the makers opening the advance bookings. As per them, a whopping Rs 1 crore worth tickets got sold in record time and it all hints at a terrific opening at the box office. It is quite sure that the film will get the biggest ever opening for a Mammootty starrer. The film is set to storm screens worldwide on May 23.

Turbo is directed by Vysakh, who earlier made Pokkiri Raja and its sequel Madhura Raja with Mammootty. Midhun Manuel Thomas has scripted the film as a pure mass entertainer. It is after a while that the megastar is playing a larger than life role like this film’s Turbo Jose, so naturally, expectations are high. Karthik Subbaraj had recently announced his maiden collaboration with Suriya. Malayalam actor Joju George has now joined its cast. Rajinikanth completes shooting for Vettaiyan

Superstar Rajinikanth completed shooting his portions for Vettaiyan, directed Jai Bhim fame TJ Gnanavel for his next. Lyca Productions is backing the film, which has a massive star cast. Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan are some of its cast members.

Vettaiyan is said to be a socially relevant film in which Rajinikanth plays a former cop who fights against capital punishment. Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for the film, which already has high expectations among the Tamil audience. The star cast is another reason for the hype. Lyca Productions is bankrolling the film.

Gautham Menon to direct Mammootty next?

Rumours are abuzz that Gautham Vasudev Menon is finally set to make his Malayalam debut with a Mammootty film. It is also widely speculated that Nayanthara will be playing the female lead in the film. Notably, Mammootty and Nayanthara have already acted together in Raapakal, Thaskaraveeran, Bhaskar The Rascal and Puthiya Niyamam. It is also worth a mention that Mammootty and Gautham Menon had recently acted together in Bazooka, which is in the post production stage.

Gautham Menon, a Malayali by birth, has often expressed his interest to work in Malayalam cinema. Though he had several discussions with actors like Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Jayaram, nothing materialised. It will be interesting to see how the filmmaker opts to present Mammootty in his maiden Malayalam film.

Mammootty, who has Vysakh’s Turbo lined up for release next week (May 23), also has films coming up with Mahesh Narayanan and debutant Jomon K Jose. Gautham Menon is still trying to get his long delayed Vikram starrer Dhruva Natchathiram to the big screens.
