Rajinikanth’s next with Lokesh Kanagaraj is Coolie

Superstar Rajinikanth’s next with director Lokesh Kanagaraj has been titled Coolie. The title announcement was made with a 3 minute long teaser video, shot in black and white. It had Rajinikanth smashing a bunch of goons, who seem to be involved in smuggling gold items. The video has references to Rajinikanth’s old films like Ranga and Thanga Magan.

Coolie is written by Lokesh Kanagaraj with additional screenplay by Chandhru Anbazhagan. Anirudh Ravichander, a regular in Lokesh films, has been retained as the composer. Other regulars in the technical team include Philomin editor Raj, stunt choreographers Anbariv and production designer Sathees Kumar. Malayali cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, who had worked with the director in Vikram, is also back in the team.

Coolie is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. Apart from Tamil, the film will also release in Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. After the completion of Coolie, Lokesh will next be working on Kaithi 2 with Karthi.

Rajinikanth next has Vettaiyan, directed by Jai Bhim-fame TJ Gnanavel, coming up. Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier and Rana Daggubati also star in it.
