Jomonte Suvisheshangal enters 30 crore club
Dulquer Salmaan’s latest release Jomonte Suvisheshangal, directed by veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad continues to do good business in most release centres. According to latest reports, the movie has entered the 30 crore club of Mollywood.
The collection reports were shared in the movie’s official Facebook page. The figures include the collection from the UAE box office also. This is Dulquer’s third movie to enter the club after Charlie and the multistarrer Bangalore Days.
Jomonte Suvisheshangal was initially scheduled to release during the Christmas season last year, but had to be postponed due to the sudden theatre strike that resulted in dry spell for over a month. Finally, the movie hit screens on January 19. Upon release, the movie was received with good to average reviews. A section of the audience pointed out the similarities in the movie’s plot to Nivin Pauly’s Jacobinte Swargarajyam, that was released last year.
Sathyan Anthikad and writer Dr Iqbal Kuttippuram made it clear that their movie was conceived before Jacobinte Swargarajyam was released and that the story could happen in any family.
Jomonte Suvisheshangal had Dulquer Salmaan in the title character. Veteran actor Mukesh played his father in the movie. The endearing chemistry between the two actors is the major highlight of the movie. Premam fame Anupama Parameswaran and Kollywood actress Aishwarya Rajesh are the female leads in the movie.
Sethu Mannarkkad produced Jomonte Suvisheshangal under the banner Full Moon Cinemas.
