Dulquer Salmaan’s Bollywood debut movie titled as Karwan; Shoot starts in Ooty!
We had recently reported about Dulquer Salmaan foraying to Bollywood with a Ronnie Screwvala production. The makers have titled the movie as Karwan and shoot has commenced today in Ooty. Some photos from the movie’s location is seen doing the rounds in social medias.
Karwan marks the directorial debut of noted actor/theatre personality Akarsh Khurana. Reportedly, the movie is a light hearted entertainer which traces the story of two friends, who come from different background. Dulquer Salmaan is playing one of the lead roles along with ace actor Irrfan Khan.
The actors will be traveling across Ooty and Kochi for a month-long schedule. Mithila Palkar, noted for performance in the popular web serirs Girl in the City is making her feature film debut with this movie. The characters of Irrfan Khan, Mithila Palkar and Dulquer are from different walks of life who come together at one juncture of their lives. Interestingly, there is no pair for Dulquer’s character in the movie.
Akarsh Khurana is noted for his scripts like Humshakals and Krrish 3. He has co-written the script of Karwan with Hussain Dalal, the dialogue writer of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2 States.
The makers had initially approached Abhishek Bachchan to play Dulquer’s part but he pulled out due to date issues. Dulquer will be seen as a Bengaluru based guy in the movie. His character is a sweet yet serious kind of person. It is a slice of life kind movie with much prominence to realistic humour.
Dulquer, meanwhile is awaiting the release of two of his movies – Bejoy Nambiar’s Tamil-Malayalam bilingual Solo and Soubin Shahir’s Parava, both scheduled to release in September.
