Malayankunju trailer promises a thrilling survival drama
Fahadh Faasil’s long-awaited film ‘Malayankunju’ is set to release in theatre release on July 22. Meanwhile, the makers have shared its trailer online. Set in a rural backdrop, the film has Fahadh in a grey-shaded role. The conflict is about how he gets trapped in a landslide and whether he manages to survive. Rajisha Vijayan plays the female lead.
‘Malayankunju’ is directed by debutant Sajimon Prabhakar, who has assisted many senior filmmakers. Mahesh Narayanan, who had directed Fahadh Faasil in ‘Take Off’, ‘Malik’ and ‘CU Soon’, has scripted the film. He is also debuting as a cinematographer with this film. AR Rahman is making his comeback to Malayalam by scoring its music. It is his third Malayalam film after ‘Yodha’, and the yet-to-be-released ‘Aadujeevitham’.
‘Malayankunju’ marks Fahadh’s return to the big screen with a Malayalam film after a 2 year long gap. His last Malayalam release was ‘Trance’ in February 20, 2020. His last few outings in Malayalam — ‘CU Soon’, ‘Joji’, ‘Malik’ and ‘Irul’ have all been OTT releases.
