Charlie Collection report – Total Business
Dulquer Salmaan starrer flick Charlie had released all over on December 24th, 2015. The film had got great responses from the critics and film lovers and eventually emerged as the biggest grosser in Dulquer Salmaan’s career. The flick was written by Unni R and Martin Prakatt and directed by Martin Prakatt. It was the first production venture of Martin as well along with his partners such as Joju George and Shebin Bucker. They had produced the film under the banner of finding cinemas. The film had completed 10 thousand shows in Kerala and outside Kerala too it had got great response. As per the official report, the film had made a total business around 42 crore rupees from its worldwide run.
From Kerala alone it had got 22 crore rupees and this collection includes the gross from B and C class screens as well. The rest of India collection of the flick is around 6.8 crore rupees and the UAE GCC collection is around 11.75 crore rupees. From UK, US and other areas, it got a collection of 2.2 crore altogether.

The film had got 8 awards in this edition of Kerala state awards for films. Dulquer Salmaan got the best actor award for his performance as Charlie and Parvathy had got the best actress award as for her performance in this film and Ennu Ninte Moideen. Jomon T John’s DOP for this film had helped him to won the best cinematographer award and the screenplay of the film had got best screen play award as well.
In total, Charlie was really a great experience for the viewers which gave a positive energy to all of them who watched it. It also gave us the actor in Dulquer Salmaan more than the star image of him. His efforts to be the character was awarded by the best actor award in state level and that is indeed a fitting reward for this young man’s dedication and commitment to his work.
Martin Prakkat had created the best film of his career with Charlie and the screenplay in association with Unni R was just brilliant. The support from Joju George and Shebin Bucker as producers were just fabulous as well because they never set any limit to the dreams saw by Martin and Unni. And the final product we got was the stunning Charlie.
It is official now that, the film will be remade to Tamil, Bengali and Marathi languages.
