Kerala Box Office : Oru Mexican Aparatha Final Collection Report
Tovino Thomas’s much awaited campus political drama Oru Mexican Aparatha was released on March 3 to overwhelming response from the audience. The movie was released amid high expectations majorly due to Tovino’s rising popularity and the movie’s slant towards the communist ideology.
Oru Mexican Aparatha got huge inital collections which helped to become a big commercial success. According to reports from trade sources, the movie has grossed Rs 16.9 crores from Kerala box office alone. The worldwide collections amount to around Rs 20 crores. The movie has turned into a huge commercial success considering the fact that it was made on a very small budget of Rs 1.50 crores.
Oru Mexican Aparatha, directed by debutant Tom Emmatty also features Roopesh Peethambaran, Neeraj Madhav, Gayathri Suresh, Kalabhavan Shajon, Jino John and Balaji Sharma in supporting characters.
The movie is set in the Maharajas college in Ernakulam. It revolves around the rivalry between two student political organizations. Tovino Thomas played a dual role as Paul and Kochaniyan, an yesteryear communist supporter. Neeraj Madhav had a solid role and he delivered a very matured and controlled performance. Roopesh Peethambaran was a revelation as the cunning and clever KSQ leader. OMA is his comeback movie as an actor after a gap of 22 long years. Anoop Kannan has produced the film under his banner Anoop Kannan Stories.
