Randamoozham : Most expensive Indian movie

We had earlier reported about the long awaited project Randamoozham finally going on floors next year. Lead actor Mohanlal himself announced about the project in a recent media interaction. The movie planned as a multilingual will be made on a whopping budget of 600 crores. If reports are to believed Randamoozham is the most expensive Indian movie ever.

Currently, superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0 is the most expensive movie made at a budget of 400 crores. The movie also starring Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar as the antagonist is the sequel to 2010 blockbuster movie Enthiran.

Second on the list of most expensive Indian movies is director Sundar C’s multilingual historic drama Sangamithra starring Jayam Ravi and Arya in the lead roles. This mega budget movie estimated to be made on 350 crores is expected to go on floors in 2018.

SS Rajamouli’s epic drama Baahubali : The Conclusion (200 crores) is third on the list followed by Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (180 crores).

Randamoozham, apart from Mohanlal will also star prominent stars from other industries also. The script works by MT Vasudevan Nair has been completed. Earlier it was reported that acclaimed filmmaker Hariharan would be helming this project. Later it was reported that popular ad filmmaker Sreekumar will direct the project. But according to latest reports, the director for this much anticipated has not yet been finalized. Mohanlal is playing the historic character of Bheeman in this movie which is based on the epic Kurukshetra war from Mahabaratha.
