After Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Vijay Sethupathi paired opposite Nayanthara once again!

Nayanathara is on a high post the well deserved success of Aramm. The movie’s huge success proved her command over the box office and is a testimony to why she is the go-to choice for strong female characters in Tamil cinema. The highly talented actress is currently working on the final schedule of Demonte Colony fame Ajay Gnanamuthu’s crime thriller Imaikka Nodigal.

Nayanthara plays the role of CBI officer Anjali Vikramadityan in the movie which also stars Atharvaa Murali and Raashi Khanna in major roles. Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is making his South Indian acting debut by playing the antagonist in this movie.

Latest addition to the movie’s cast is the hot and happening Vijay Sethupathi, who will be seen in a brief but prominent role. He has been paired opposite Nayanthara in the movie. This is his second film with the actress after the 2015 dark comedy Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which was a big commercial success.

Vijay Sethupathi started shooting for Imaikka Nodigal from yesterday (December 2). Though it is a cameo role, his character will have great importance in the movie’s storyline. Ramesh Thilak, Devan and Uday Mahesh are also part of the supporting cast. Shoot for the movie is nearing completion and is slated for a January release.

Imaikka Nodigal has its music composed by Hiphop Tamizha. RD Rajasekhar is cranking the camera and Bhuvan Srinivasan is in charge of the edits. CJ Jayakumar is finding the movie under the banner of Cameo Films India.

Mammootty’s mega budget project Mamankam to commence in February!

Mammootty’s historical epic film Mamankam was announced on Diwali day to roaring reception from his fans. Said to be the biggest project in the megastar’s three decade long career, Mamankam is the maiden directorial venture of Sajeev Pillai. Venu Kunnampilly of Kavya Films is backing this mega budget project.

The makers have been involved in the pre-production works for a long time now and if reports are to be believed they are planning to go on floors by February next year. Reportedly, the movie will commence in Mangalore and will later move to the shores of Bharathapuzha.

Director Sajeev, a former associate of the legendary Adoor Gopalakrishnan, has done extensive research works for nearly 12 years to script this epic movie. It is based on Mamankam, the medieval fair, was celebrated every 12 years from 800 AD to 1755 AD.

Mamankam festival was held on the banks of Bharathapuzha in Tirunavaya and would attract brave warriors from across the country who would come together to showcase their skills at combat. Mammootty will be seen as a Chekavar in the movie.

Besides Mammootty, the movie will also have some other leading actors from industries across the country. Internationally renowned technicians will also be associated with the movie. An official announcement comprising of details regarding the cast and crew members will be made very soon.

Tovino Thomas starrer Mayaanadhi is gearing up to hit screens later this month as a Christmas release. The movie directed by Aashiq Abu promises to be a romantic thriller. Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela fame Aishwarya Lekshmi is paired opposite Tovino in this movie.

‘Uyirin Nadhiye’, the first song video from Mayaanadhi was released today via YouTube. It is a beautiful romantic track featuring the lead pair of Tovino and Aishwarya. Music director Rex Vijayan himself has lent his voice to this song penned by talented young lyricist Vinayak Sasikumar.

Mayaanadhi is jointly scripted by Dileesh Nair and Shyam Pushkar. The movie has an elaborate supporting cast which includes Aparna Balamurali, Harish Uthaman, Leona Lishoy, Nizhalgal Ravi and Soubin Shahir among others. Directors Lijo Jose Pellissery and Basil Joseph also appear in cameo roles in the movie.

Mayaanadhi is produced together by Aashiq Abu’s OPM Dream Mil Cinemas and Amal Neerad’s banner Amal Neerad Productions. Rex Vijayan is handling the music department and Jayesh Mohan has cranked the camera. Saiju Sreedharan is in charge of the edits. The movie is scheduled to hit screens on December 22.

Dileep recently moved to Dubai after finishing the Chennai schedule of his upcoming movie Kammara Sambhavam. The movie still has one more schedule left which will go on floors very soon in Theni. The makers are planning to release the movie for the next Vishu season.

Kammara Sambhavam directed by debutant Ratheesh Amabat is said to be the biggest project in Dileep’s career. South Indian actor Sidharth also plays a prominent role in the movie. He has finished almost all his portions except for a few patch up scenes.

Actor/scenarist Murali Gopy has scripted this movie which is said to be an epic film. The movie happens in over three timelines and will feature both Dileep and Sidharth in multiple looks. Namitha Pramod is playing the female lead. It has an ensemble supporting cast which includes National award winner Bobby Simha, Shwetha Menon, Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Indrans, Manikuttan, Siddique, Vinay Forrt, Sudheer Karamana and Santhosh Keezhattoor among others.

Gokulam Gopalan is funding this big budget movie under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies. The film’s much awaited first look poster will be unveiled very soon.

Earlier this year, Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas had announced that the banner will be producing a Mohanlal-Shaji Kailas movie in 2018. The director is known for delivering mass entertainers and his upcoming movie with Mohanlal will be no different. Renji Panicker is scripting this film, which is said to be a socio-political thriller.

As per latest reports, Mohanlal will be playing an underworld don in the movie. Sounds like a typical Shaji Kailas mass flick with prominence to action. The fans can be assured of an absolute treat from this legendary trio. Reportedly, the movie is set in Mumbai and Mangalore, and Mohanlal will be playing a powerful don based in this region.

The combo have delivered blockbuster films like Narasimham, Aaram Thamburan and Baba Kalyani. The writer-director duo of Renji Panicker and Shaji Kailas are also famous for their 90s blockbusters like The King, Commissioner, Ekalavyan etc. This upcoming movie will mark the duo’s first time collaboration for a Mohanlal starrer and that has certainly heightened the expectations.

Keerthy Suresh likely to play the female lead in Vijay’s next!

Keerthy Suresh is a much in demand actress in the South at present. The actress has a handful of exciting projects in her kitty, both in the Tamil and Telugu industry. As per latest reports, the pretty actress is in talks to play the female lead in Thalapathy Vijay’s next film with AR Murugadoss. She has already worked with Vijay in Bairavaa, released earlier this year.

Reportedly, Keerthy has been approached for Thalapathy 62 but the actress is yet to sign the dotted lines. She is currently busy shooting for her Telugu flick Agnyaathavaasi, in which she is paired opposite Powerstar Pawan Kalyan. Suirya’s Thaana Serntha Koottam, Vikram’s Saamy 2 and Vishal’s Sandakozhi 2 are some of her other projects in the pipeline.

Sonakshi Sinha and Rakul Preet are some of the other names that have been doing the rounds for the female lead in Thalapathy 62. An official announcement about the same is expected to be made very soon. Currently, AR Murugadoss and his team is busy with the pre-production works. The movie is slated to go on floors by thee end of January or by the first week of February. Since this is Vijay-Murugadoss duo’s third outing together after the blockbuster success of Thuppakki and Kaththi, expectations are huge among the audience.

Malayali cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, known for his stellar works in films like Angamaly Diaries and Guppy, will be cranking the camera. Though there were reports about Anirudh handling the music department, latest buzz is that the makers are trying to rope in Vikram Vedha fame Sam CS to compose music. Multiple national award winner Sreekar Prasad has been brought on board to handle the edits.

Reportedly, Sun Pictures and Lyca Productions will be jointly funding this film. An official announcement with details about the cast and crew members is expected to be made very soon.

Mammootty is currently shooting for ad filmmaker Sharrath Sandith’s directorial debut Parole. Scripted by Ajith Poojappura, the movie is reportedly based on some real life incidents. It is a family drama cum thriller in which Mammootty plays the role of a prisoner. Ineya and Miya George will be seen in prominent roles in the movie.

While Ineya plays Mammootty’s wife in the movie, Miya will be seen in his sister’s role. Parole is Ineya’s second film with Mammootty after Puthan Panam, which was released earlier this year. However, she did not have any combination scenes with the megastar in that movie. In Parole, she will be seen as his wife in a typical Kottayam ‘Achayathi’ look.

Telugu actor Prabhakar is also playing a pivotal part in Parole. He is popular for his role as the Kalakeya king in SS Rajamouli’s action epic drama Baahubali: The Beginning. Seasoned actors Siddique and Suraj Venjaramoodu are also part of the supporting cast of Parole.

Director Sharrath Sandith is a veteran in the ad film circuit. He has previously worked with Mammootty in a few ad films for South Indian bank. The director has assured that his debut movie will have a classy presentation just like his ad films.

Parole is being produced by Jude Sudheer and Juby Ninan under the banner of J&J Productions. The movie is expected to hit screens early next year.

Telugu version of Suriya’s Thaana Serntha Koottam titled as Gang!

Almost all big-ticket Tamil movies these days are getting dubbed versions in Telugu. The Makers put in their best of efforts to release both the versions simultaneously to ensure a big opening at the box office. After Ajith’s Vivegam and Vijay’s Mersal, Suriya’s next release Thaana Serntha Koottam (TSK) is also getting a Telugu version. The makers revealed the title and the first look poster of the movie today.

The Telugu dubbed version of Suriya’s Thaana Serntha Koottam has been titled as Gang and is slated to release simultaneously on January 12. TSK is directed by Vignesh Shivan of Poda Podi and Nannum Rowdy Dhaan fame. Shoot for the movie was wrapped only recently and the team is currently busy with the post-production works.

The teaser of Thaana Serntha Koottam was recently earlier this week to great response from the audience. The movie is loosely inspired from the 2013 Akshay Kumar flick Special 26, directed by Neeraj Pandey. It is a heist crime thriller based on some real life incidents.

Thaana Serntha Koottam has an elaborate supporting cast which includes Keerthy Suresh, Ramya Krishnan, Karthik, Kalaiarasan, Nandha, Sathyan, popular yesteryear comedian Senthil, Saranya Ponvannan, Kovai Sarala, KS Ravikumar, RJ Balaji, Anandraj and Thambi Ramaiah among others.

Anirudh is handling the music department in Thaana Serntha Koottam. The single ‘Sodakku’ has already become a huge hit among the audience. KE Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green is producing this movie which is slated for a grand Pongal release this coming January.

Kamal Haasan starts final schedule of shoot for Vishwaroopam 2!

Kamal Haasan’s ambitious film Vishwaroopam 2 was shelved for a long time before his own production house Raajkamal Films International took over the project. After a long delay Kamal has finally started the final leg of shoot in Chennai. He posted a couple of photos from the movie’s sets in his social media space. Shoot is currently progressing at a rapid pace at Officers Training Academy in Chennai.

Kamal and Andrea Jeremiah along with a group of other artists are seen in army getup. Reportedly, only a few patch up portions are remaining and the makers are planning to release the movie on January 26, the Republic Day. Recently, music director Ghibran had informed that the movie is shaping up well and they will be releasing the trailer very soon.

The Vishwaroopam series, written and directed by Kamal Haasan features him in the lead role of a hotshot RAW agent. The first part, released in 2014, was a huge success both critically and commercially. Though the film faced several hurdles prior to it’s release, it emerged as a big blockbuster doing a lifetime business of over 100 crores.

Bollywood actor Rahul Bose, Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar and Shekhar Kapur will be reprising their roles from the first part. The technical team of Vishwaroopam 2 comprises of Malayali cinematographer Shamdat Sainudeen and editor Mahesh Narayanan.

Maverick filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery started the year with a bang by delivering the sensational Angamaly Diaries. The movie reaped huge profits at the box office and won widespread acclaim. The director is back with his next film Ee Ma Yau, which was supposed to hit screens yesterday (December 1).

However, the release got pushed much to the disappointment of the audience. Amidst several vague theories, the director has finally come out with a statement regarding why the release has been postponed indefinitely.

Apparently, the makers are taken aback by the extraordinary response that they got after the preview show, which was held for the fraternity on Tuesday (November 29). Inspired by the excellent feedback they got from the show, the makers are now planning for a countrywide release.

Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Angamaly Diaries caught the attention of the national audience, so it is definitely a great call by the makers of Ee Ma Yau to go for a wide release. The director is well known for churning out movies with out of the box themes that boasts of a lot uniqueness in treatment. The title Ee Ma Yau itslef is a very peculiar one, which is the acronym of Eesho Maryam Ouseph.

Ee Ma Yau stars Vinayakan, Chemban Vinod Jose and Dileesh Pothan in major roles. A host of newcomers are also part of the supporting cast. National award winner PF Mathews has penned the dialogues and screenplay of this movie.

Shyju Khalid, best known for his work in Maheshinte Prathikaram and Idukki Gold, has cranked the camera. Prashanth Pillai, a regular in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s films, is handling the music department. The movie is being produced by Rajesh George Kulangara.
