Alamara fame Aditi Ravi plays a prominent role in Pranav Mohanlal’s Aadhi

After much awaiting, Pranav Mohanlal’s Aadhi finally went on floors last week in Ernakulam. The movie, written and directed by Jeethu Jospeh is tipped to be an action filled entertainer. Antony Perumbavoor is producing this movie under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.

Aditi Ravi, who was noted for her performance in her debut film Alamara is playing a prominent role in Aadhi. Pranav has no romantic interest in the movie as there is no separate love track. But all the characters that appear in the movie will have a particular space that offers good scope for performance.

Aditi Ravi was introduced to director Jeethu Joseph by the movie’s cameraman Satheesh Kurup, who was also behind the visuals in Alamara. Anusree, Lena, Siju Wilson, Sharafudheen, Tony Luke, Siddique and Nobi are also part of the cast.

Shoot is currently progressing in Ernakulam and will soon be moving to Hyderabad and Bangalore. Since the movie involves a lot of action sequences, Pranav was undergoing training in Parkour for the past few months. It is a kind of acrobatic training that involves crossing obstacles by running, climbing, jumping, rolling and swinging.

Aadhi is said to be on similar lines to Jeethu Joseph’s superhit movie Memories. The director’s regular Anil Johnson is composing the music and Ayoob Khan is handling the edits in Aadhi.

I loved Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum but still think Maheshinte Prathikaram was better: Solo director Bejoy Nambiar

Bollywood filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar is making his South Indian this year debut with a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual movie titled as Solo. Dulquer Salmaan is playing the lead in this movie which also stars other well known actors like Dino Morea, Suhasini, Nasser, Ann Augustine, Arti Venkatesh, Dhansika, Prakash Belawadi, Neha Sharma etc.

Bejoy Nambiar, a former associate of Mani Ratnam, is noted for his films like Shaitan, David and Wazir. The director/producer is of the opinion that cinema has no barriers. He is trying to create a platform through which cine-lovers in Mumbai can get to know where good Tamil/Malayalam films are playing. Angamaly Diaries was the first movie to be screened there. Following suit is Dileesh Pothan’s Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum

Bejoy Nambiar, in a recent interview, while talking about the latest movies he watched, was all praise for Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum and Fahadh Faasil. He is also impressed with the two film old Dileesh Pothan and remarked he is someone to watch out for.

However, Bejoy Nambiar feels that Dileesh Pothan’s debut directorial Maheshinte Prathikaram was a better movie. He is quoted saying, “The first film for any director is special, and in Dileesh’s case, it was phenomenal. I loved it so much and I still think Maheshinte Prathikaaram is better than Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum. And, the second movie is always the one that gives a sense of the director’s real potential. That is what Dileesh proved with Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum. It is such a clutter-breaker. Not a regular film at all. I thoroughly enjoyed it.”

Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum starring Fahadh Faasil, Suraj Venjaramoodu, debutante Nimisha Sajayan and Alencier Ley Lopez recently crossed the 50 days theatrical run. The movie is produced by Sandeep Senan and Aneesh M Thomas under the banner of Urvashi Theatres.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay has a crazy fan following in Kerala. He is pehaps the most popular non-Malayali actor in the state. Unlike his peers his fan following is not just limited to the youngsters but also to the kids, families and even celebrities. Recently, actress Prayaga Rose Martin admitted to being a big fan of Vijay.

Prayaga Martin, who started off her career as a child artist in Mohanlal’s Sagar Alias Jacky, is now an established actress with a handful of films in her kitty. She is playing the female lead in Sunny Wayne’s Pokkiri Simon: Oru Kaduththa Aaraadhakan, a movie based on the life of a hardcore Vijay fan. Sunny Wayne plays the titular role and Prayaga will be seen as his pair.

Just like her character in the movie, Prayaga is a big Vijay fan in real life too. In a recent interview, the actress revealed her admiration for Vijay and Tamil cinema. She is quoted saying, “I really like watching Vijay’s films. The energy we get while watching a good Vijay film is something unexplainable. Even if you are not Vijay fan, the energy while watching his films is truly on another level. Not just Vijay, I like many other actors in Tamil. The prime reason why I like Tamil movies and the actors is how they are in stark contrast to the Malayalam industry. I enjoy their loud beat songs (dappankuthu) and action scenes.”

Prayaga will be next seen in Dileep’s Ramaleela, release of which is temporarily shelved due to the lead actor’s arrest. Her last movie Viswasapoorvam Mansoor, directed by PT Kunju Muhammed tanked at the box office.
