Fahadh-Nazriya couple expecting a baby!

This seems like the season of parenthood in Mollywood. Over the last two months, young actors Dulquer Salmaan, Asif Ali and Nivin Pauly were all blessed with baby girls. Now if reports are to be believed, the much loved celebrity couple of Fahadh and Nazriya are also expecting a baby.

Reportedly, Nazriya and Fahadh were recently spotted in a hospital for check ups and ever since then social medias is abuzz with congratulatory posts. Also a family gathering was recently released recently to celebrate the happy news.

Apparently, Fahadh had also pulled out of a few public events that he had previously committed. He has also turned down a few offers as he wishes to spend more time with his wife during this time. However, neither Fahadh Faasil nor Nazriya have responded to the news yet.

Nazriya Nazim was at the peak of her career when she married her Bangalore Days co-star Fahadh Faasil. News about their relationship came in as a huge surprise. Their age difference was the sole reason but over the past two years, they have become one of the most loved celebrity couples of Mollywood. The couple fell in love when they were shooting for Anjali Menon’s Banglore Days in 2014.

Mohanlal assures that Odiyan will have some beautiful songs

The preproduction works for Mohanlal’s upcoming big budget project Odiyan has already kick-started. This ambitious project will mark the directorial debut of popular ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon.

Recently, Mohanlal had posted a video of Odiyan’s music composition sessions on his official Facebook page. M Jayachandran is composing the songs. Rafeeq Ahmed and Lakshmi Sreekumar have written the lyrics for the four songs in the movie. In the video, director Shrikumar Menon, M Jayachandran and Rafeeq Ahmed can be seen.

Mohanlal’s own production house Aashirvad Cinemas is funding this big budget movie movie. The film is written by national award winner Harikrishnan. Odiyan will be a story of love, revenge and myth. Myth has it that Odiyan is named after a man who is mastered in odividya, a black magic trick to tackle the enemies.

Manju Warrier is confirmed to play the female lead in this movie. Prakash Raj will be seen as a powerful antagonist role in Odiyan. Mohanlal and Prakash Raj are teaming up in Odiyan after a two decade long gap.

Pulimurugan cinematographer Shaji Kumar will be cranking the camera for Odiyan while Sreekar Prasad is in charge of the edits while. Peter Hein has been roped in to choreograph the stunts in the movie. The movie will go on floors soon. Palakkad, Pollachi, Hyderabad and Banaras are the major locations.

Mammootty’s next with debutant Sharrath Sandith starts rolling

Megastar Mammootty’s next with noted ad filmmaker Sharrath Sandith went on floors today in Bangalore. The customary switch on ceremony with the crew members was also held today. This is Sharrath’s debut feature film eventhough he has been in the ad film industry for a long time now. Mammootty has worked with Sharrath in several ad films over the last decade, most popular being the ones for South Indian bank.

This yet to be titled movie is said to be inspired from true events that has a moving story. A major portion of the movie will be shot inside a jail and it’s premises. Mia George has been roped in to play one of the female leads. The makers are yet to finalise on the other heroine. More details regarding the other cast and crew members will be announced in the coming days.

The team is planning to complete the shoot in two schedules – 25 days in Bangalore and the rest in Kerala. The director has assured that his debut movie will have a classy presentation just like his ad films.

Mammootty, meanwhile has a slew of movies lined up. He is taken a schedule break from Rajadhiraja fame Ajai Vasudev’s Masterpice. The movie, scripted by Pulimurugan writer Udhayakrishna features Mammootty in the role of a college professor.

He has already finished shooting for his upcoming movie with 7th Day fame Shyam Dhar. This untitled movie is slated to hit screens for Onam. Cinematographer Shamdat’s debut directorial Streetlights is another movie in the pipeline. It is a crime thriller in which Mammootty will be seen as an investigative officer. The movie, made as a bilingual in Tamil and Malayalam is funded by Mammootty’s own production house Playhouse Pictures.

After acing in almost all departments of filmmaking, Sreenivasan now turns a playback singer

The multi-talented Sreenivasan has proved his ability in almost all the departments of filmmaking. The veteran actor has scripted several acclaimed movies, he is a National award winning director and has also produced some superhit films. Now Sreenivasan is trying his hand in playback singing.

He will be turning a singer with the upcoming movie Ayal Sasi directed by Sajin Babu. The song “Akkane Thikkane”, for which he lent his voice will be released tomorrow evening at 5 PM.

It is worth a mention that Sreenivasan, had lost around 15 kilos to play the lead role in this movie. He is playing a 65 year old character in the movie. Interestingly, the veteran actor worked in the movie without taking any remuneration. Kochu Preman, Sreekumar, Anil Nedumangadu, Rajesh Sharma and Kammattipadam fame Divya Gopinath are also part of the cast.

Sajin Baabu’s debut film Unto the Dusk was screened at several film festivals and also won numerous accolades. Ayal Sasi is a movie that will discuss about the economic, political and religious aspects in the society. The movie is produced by P Sukumar and Sudheesh Pillai.

Rajinikanth has a special liking for Dulquer Salmaan

Dulquer Salmaan is the hot sensation of Mollywood. A very promising actor with pan Indian looks and huge popularity, Dulquer Salmaan is currently one of the most wanted young stars around. He made a low profile entry to the industry in 2012 and from there till his last release CIA, Dulquer has done a total of 20 movies.

He has already done two Tamil movies, in which one of them was with the legendary Mani Ratnam. In 2015, he won the Kerala State Award for best actor for his perfomance in Charlie. In such a short period, he has established himself as a great actor as well as a huge crowd puller.

Several eminent film personalities like Ram Gopal Varma, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Mani Ratnam have talked highly about Dulquer. And recently, the biggest superstar of Indian cinema Rajinikanth opened up about his special liking for Dulquer.

It was while talking in a channel interview, that Rajinikanth talked about Dulquer. Apparently, superstar is highly impressed by the youngster’s acting style and he also mentioned about his friendship with Dulquer’s father Mammootty. Rajinikanth also had a word of appreciation for all the other young actors in Malayalam cinema.

Dulquer is currently shooting for Bollywood filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar’s South Indian debut Solo, which is a bilingual in Tamil and Malayalam. This year, he is also making his entry to Telugu industry with the upcoming bilingual Mahanati. The movie, which is the biopic on late actress Savithri also stars Keerthy Suresh and Samantha in the lead roles.

2.0 aka Enthiran 2; The Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer does a pre-release business of Rs 200 crores.

2.0, the much awiated sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, is nearing it’s completion. The movie, directed by Shankar also marks the South Indian debut of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. British beauty Amy Jackson is playing the female lead in this sci-fi thriller.

Lyca Productions is investing a mammoth budget of Rs 450 crores, which is the highest for any Indian film currently under production. Now that SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali has raked in over 1500 crores, the expectations on 2.0 is multifold.

True to the hype, the movie is doing some massive pre-release business. As per reports, the theatre distribution rights of 2.0’s Hindi was sold to a whopping Rs 80 crores. Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar’s presence has popularized the movie in the North.

The Shankar directorial had also already earned Rs 100 crores from the satellite rights across all languages. Satellite rights of 2.0 were sold for Rs. 110 crore to Zee Television for 15 years time. Reportedly, the makers are also in talks with Amazon Prime and Netflix for the film’s digital rights.

This is the also the highest satellite price for an Indian movie surpassing the record set by Dangal. The Aamir Khan starrer was also bought by Zee TV for Rs 75 crores. SS Rajamouli’s epic movie Baahubali: The Conclusion was bought for Rs 51 crores by Sony Entertainment.

Inspired by the success of Dangal and Baahubali 2, the makers of 2.0 are also planning to release the movie in 15 languages. The movie will be dubbed into all major foreign languages, including Japanese, Chinese and Korean.

Shoot for this magnum opus is almost over with just a song left to be filmed. It will be wrapped up once Rajinikanth is free from the shoot of his upcoming movie, Kaala. Shankar has written the movie along with popular writer Jeyamohan. Many internationally acclaimed technicians are involved in the technical side of the movie.

Aju Varghese appreciates Santhosh Pandit

Recently, Santhosh Pandit had visited the Dalit colony at Govindapuram near the Kerala- Tamil Nadu border to offer financial aid to the residents there. Ever since then, has been getting continuous appreciation from all many people. Aju Varghese had recently shared the video of Santhosh Pandit visiting the colony. Aju has captioned it as “Immense respect and true inspiration !!!”.

Santhosh Pandit had recently visited the place and offered financial aid to residents of the colony. He handed over the remuneration he got from his new Mammootty movie Masterpiece and his debut Tamil movie. He had also promised to find sponsors for the students of the colony.

Untouchability is still being practiced at Govindapuram colony even when our state is celebrating the 100th anniversary of community feast Panthibhojanam initiated by social reformer Sahodaran Ayyappan to fight caste based discriminations. The issue was recently reported by the medias and it soon became a topic of discussion. The upper caste Gounders have prevented the Dalits belonging to Chakkliya community from entering their shops and hotels.

This is not the first time Santhosh is lending his helping hands to the underprivileged. Earlier during an Onam season, he had provided basic food items for some residents in Attapadi region. He believes that, being a social animal it is his responsibility to help others.

Santhosh Pandit is noted for single handedly working on all the departments of filmmaking including acting, direction, composing, lyrics writing, singing, choreographer, editing etc. Eventhough his films have been severely criticized over the years, Santhosh remains an internet celebrity who is unfazed by the harsh reactions. He recently grabbed an opportunity to work with Mammootty in the upcoming movie Masterpiece, directed by Rajadhiraja fame Ajai Vasudev.

Tiyaan has some solid female characters

One of the most expected movies of the season, Tiyaan is gearing up for release. The movie has a huge hype surrounding it majorly due to the highly impressive promos. Murali Gopy has scripted the movie and is directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar.

Tiyaan is said to be a socio-political drama. It is the story of two youths who get caught in the religious clashes in North India. Prithviraj is playing the role of Aslan Mohammed and Indrajith’s character is named as Pattabhiraman.

Eventhough it’s a movie from the male perspective, Tiyaan will have some strong and prominent female characters. After a brief gap, talented actress Padmapriya is making a comeback with Tiyaan. She is playing the role of Vasundhara Devi, a very intense role that will have a strong screen presence. Her character will be the catalyst to certain pivotal incidents in the movie.

Similarly, Ananya is also making a comeback of sorts with this movie. She is sporting a different make over in this movie rather than her usual bubbly girl next door looks. Her character is named as Amba, who is married to Indrajith’s Pattabhiraman. Indrajith’s younger daughter Nakshathra will be seen as their kid in the movie.

North Indian actress Mrudula Sathe, who has starred in popular Hindi serials like Balika Vadhu, Sunaina and Kya Masti Kya Dhoom, is also playing a prominent role in Tiyaan. She will be seen as Prithviraj’s wife Parineeti Adve, in the movie. She is sporting a Maharshtrian look in the movie and most of her dialogues are in Hindi.

Paris Lakshmi, the popular dancer who is noted for her perfomance in movies like Bangalore Days, Salt Mango Tree and Olapeepi, is also part of Tiyaan’s cast. She will be seen in a very interesting character as Elen Richard.

It is not often that we get to see such solid female roles in a mainstream movie. That has further piqued the curiosity of the audience. The wait is nearing it’s end as the movie is slated to hit screens for this Eid season.
