Kunjiramayanam fame Basil Joseph’s Godha is getting excellent response from all the release centres. The movie stars Tovino Thomas, Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi and Renji Panicker in the lead roles.

Both the critics and common audience have appreciated the movie. Families have been flocking theaters in large numbers to watch this rollicking fun entertainer. The movie is bankrolled by AV Anoop, CV Sarathy and Mukesh R Mehta under the banner of E4Entertainment.

Recently, Vineeth Sreenivasan shared on his Facebook page about his experience after watching the movie. The director says he feels proud to see the success of Godha. Vineeth’s Facebook post reads,

A bit late, but I finally got to watch Godha in the theater.. Having seen the movie multiple times during post production before the final cut, was looking at the audience reaction rather than watching the movie myself. And the packed audience in AGS T Nagar were bursting into laughter all through the film. And finally when the director’s card appeared, people gave a standing ovation.
When I walked out of the theatre, someone from chennai whom I have known for many years asked me,
Vineeth did ur friends make this film; I said yes. My cousin brother wrote this film. And the director has worked with me as an assistant.
Though I have got nothing to do with the success of the film, I realized that I was feeling proud..

Basil Joseph has worked as an assistant to Vineeth in Thira. Godha’s writer Rakesh Mantodi is Vineeth Sreenivasan’s cousin. He made his debut as a scenarist through Godha. Composer Shaan Rahman share a friendship that dates back to years. So, Vineeth indeed has reasons to feel proud of Godha’s success.

Kerala government will ensure that the people eat according to their wish: Pinarayi Vijayan

Following the centre’s decision to ban cattle slaughter in the country, there have been widespread protests against the Narendra Modi government. Kerala, in particular, have shown strong resilience to the ban.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan slammed the central government’s decision to ban cattle slaughter and thereby making rules on what the citizens should eat. While attending a meeting in Alappuzha, the Chief Minister said that the Kerala government will ensure that people eat food according to their preferences. He added that people from Delhi and Nagaland cannot make orders on what Keralites should eat and not eat.

Pinarayi Vijayan had also written a strongly-worded letter to the Centre on the new norms regarding cattle trade. He came down heavily on the government stating that people in Kerala are outraged.

The Kerala government has decided to take forward the issue legally. An all party will be called for shortly to discuss about the issue. CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that the government will study on the legal aspects of this rule and proceed accordingly.

Earlier, as a response to the new rule initiated by the centre, the Student Federation of India (SFI) held beef fests in 210 centers across the state. Kerala Students Union (KSU) of the opposition Congress also held beef fests which included slaughtering cattle, cooking and serving beef for free to all.
