Mammootty will be seen in contrasting style of tutor roles back-to-back

Despite being a superstar in the industry for over three decades, Mammootty never gets complacent. He is always on the look out for roles that could bring out both the star and the actor in him. The 65 year old veteran is currently busy working on multiple projects.

Interestingly, two of his upcoming movies have him in the role of a tutor. He is playing a college professor in Udhayakrishna- Ajai Vasudev team’s mass thriller and a teacher trainer in 7th Day fame Shyam Dhar’s next.

In Ajai Vasudev’s movie, Mammootty will be seen as an English lecturer. He is sporting a stylish new look for playing his character Edward Livingston. Eddy, as he is popularly known, is an old student of the same college and was a bigger troublemaker in his campus days. What happens when such a strict and tough college professor turns against a group of spoilt students is the core plot of this yet to be titled movie. According to the director, Mammootty’s is a larger than life role and will have him performing some power packed action blocks.

Whereas in Shyam Dhar’s movie, he is playing an entirely contrasting role of an Idukki native who comes to Kochi as a tutor at a teacher training institute. His character’s name in the movie is speculated as Rajakumaran. He is a very jovial person who considers every student of his as a child. The students love his lectures as he is a fabulous story teller who connects everything with an interesting anecdote. It is very rooted character and we can be assured of an entirely different Mammootty in this film.

Mammootty has completed the first schedule of Shyam Dhar’s movie and is currently work on the Ajai Vasudev movie. Not many actors can play two such contrasting roles simultaneously, but for a seasoned actor like Mammootty, it is not really a challenge.
