Anyone who buys a ticket out of his hard earned money has the right to comment on a movie: Prithviraj

In the current scenario, social medias play a major role in defining the success of a movie. Several movies in the past have turned into hits solely because of social media promotions. Similarly there are also movies that have faced the wrath of social medias and ended up as disasters.

Celebrities and industry insiders have often criticized the online reviewers for pointing out flaws in a movie without any technical knowledge or without any prior experience in film making.

Recently, Prithviraj in an interview was asked about his opinion about online reviewers, Prithviraj said, “Anyone who buys a ticket paying his hard earned money has the right to comment on the movie. Just like a professional reviewer or a media person, any other normal viewer has the same right to express his opinions about the movie.

This statement from Prithviraj shows how well he respects the audience and their opinions. As he says during the interview, Malayali audience have a wide knowledge about cinema and the various aspects in filmmaking. So the makers today have more pressure on them to deliver their proudct before such a highly critical society. But in the long run, it is only beneficial for the industry as only good movies will taste success and that too irrespective of the label of any popular director or production house.

The actor’s latest release Ezra hit screens all over Kerala yesterday. Directed by debutant Jay K, Ezra is a horror thriller, an one of a kind attempt in Mollywood. It has got a great opening in the box office thanks to the largely positive word of mouth in social medias. Prithviraj and the Ezra team are using social media platforms to good use for their movie’s promotions.

I don’t have any arrogance; your love is my pride: Mammootty

Mammootty is one actor who has constantly been criticised for his so called arrogant attitude. There is a general perception about Mammootty being an arrogant person. Several of his co-stars and directors have admitted that, Mammootty is someone who always speaks his mind and is not one who minces his words about something he feels wrong.

Once while addressing a gathering, Mammootty himself talked about the general perception among the public about his arrogance.

He said, “I don’t feel I have any arrogance, even if I have some it is only because of your love. Director Siddique who has worked in Bollywood movies with top stars have said something about my arrogance to one of my friends Johnny Lukose.

Siddique has worked in many industries including Bollywood with many top stars. He feels that while these stars pretend to be humble, I am pretending to be arrogant. My arrogance is like a preventive measure to protect myself from others. In reality, my arrogance is your love. If so many people are clapping and cheering for me, how can I not be arrogant.

Recently, during an interaction section with fans in Sharjah, someone asked Mammootty about why he is not being social like Mohanlal and about his arrogant attitude.

After hearing the question Mammootty replied with a tongue in cheek question “who should change that conception, me or the public?

Mammootty has several times made his part clear about such allegations. He has always maintained that he is an actor only on screen. He finds it very difficult to greet and smile at a person, even if it’s a fan, whom he is meeting for the first time.

Tovino Thomas’ reply to a fan who compared him with Mohanlal

Tovino Thomas debuted in 2013 through Dulquer Salmaan’s ABCD in a villainous role. After four years, Tovino is now one of the most promising new gen stars in the industry. The actor belongs to a non filmy background, a trait that sets him apart from most of his contemporaries.

Currently, he is enjoying all this stardom and popularity only because of his hardwork and dedication to the craft. From the grey shaded politician, Akhilesh Varma to Eby Ebineser in 7th Day to Perumpparambil Appu in Ennu Ninte Moideen to the recent Thejus Varkey in Guppy, Tovino has made rapid strides from just another actor to a dependable star who has the charisma to carry a movie entirely on his shoulders.

Recently, a fan compared Tovino with superstar Mohanlal who also started his career as an antagonist. The actor replied, “Comparing me with Lalettan makes me feel as if I have won two State Awards. But not only me, no one else can become like Lalettan. He is a legend.

Tovino was last seen in a brief character in Prithviraj’s latest release Ezra. He has played the role of Shafeer Ahammed, a cop in the movie. Though the character has limited screen time, Tovino has given a laudable performance winning appreciation from critics as well as the audience.

This year, the actor has two other much anticipated movies in his kitty, Oru Mexican Aparatha and Godha. While he will be seen as a student activist in the former, he is playing a wrestler in Basil Joseph’s Godha.
