Dulquer Salmaan about Pranav Mohanlal’s entry to movies

Malayalis all over the world are waiting to see Pranav Mohanlal on screen this year. The celebrated star kid has signed for his debut as a male lead for director Jeethu Joseph’s upcoming action thriller. Mohanlal himself announced the news last year.

Young star Dulquer Salmaan recently shared his thoughts about Pranav’s entry to movies. He said,

“My best wishes for Pranav. Everyone can bring some contributions of their own to the industry. Like others, I am also eagerly waiting to watch his movie.”

Dulquer added that they both meet only rarely. Pranav Mohanlal is currently undergoing training in Parkour, a kind of training in jumping, swift running and climbing high rise walls as his character in Jeethu Joseph’s upcoming movie demanded it.

The director had earlier informed that the movie will be an action thriller on the lines of his superhit movie Memories. Antony Perumbavoor is producing this movie under Mohanlal’s home production house Aashiravad Cinemas. This yet-to-be-titled movie will go on floors this year.

This is Pranav’s second entry to movies. He has earlier acted in a movie titled Punarjani directed by Major Ravi. He won the State award for the best child actor for his performance in the movie. He was away from the limelight after that before returning back to assist Jeethu Joseph in two movies, Dileep’s Life of Josutty and Kamal Haasan’s Papanasam.

Controversy’s favourite kid Ram Gopal Varma is in the news once again, but this time for no fault of his. RGV is someone known for not mincing his words. Most of his tweets have faced the ire of the twiterattis. In the past, he has taken a dig at many leading superstars including Rajinikanth, Mammootty, Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan etc.

RGV shares a great admiration for Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. He has roped in Mohanlal to play prominent roles in two of his Hindi movies, Company and Aag.

Recently, Mohanlal’s blockbuster movie Oppam was dubbed and released in Telugu as Kanupapa. Many media groups reported about RGV’s tweet praising Kanupapa and Mohanlal’s performance. Lavishing praise on Mohanlal, he mentioned that other stars should stop doing the routine acts and follow Mohanlal. The tweets read,

These tweets were trending virally
in social medias and was even used for promoting the movie.But the reality is that these tweets were not from RGV but from his parody account. The director himself cleared airs about these tweets. His original twitter account was RGVzoomined while his parody was RGVzoomin. Interestingly, the veteran filmmaker had praised the original version, Oppam, during it’s trailer release

Kanupapa was released on February 3 to good response from the Telugu audience. The movie was opened to positive reviews from the critics who praised Mohanlal’s performance and Priyadarshan’s skilled direction. Malayalam version of the movie, Oppam was a huge success both critically and commercially.

The movie is a crime thriller revolving around a blind man who is on the run to protect a girl from a serial killer. Mohanlal played the blind man’s role while Tamil actor Samuthirakani played the antagonist. Oppam is currently the second highest grossing Malayalam movie ever.

Superstar Mohanlal’s blog supporting the demonetisation move by the central government earned him lot of flak from people belonging to many walks of the society. MLA M Swaraj criticised Mohanlal for his blog and called it a foolish act from his part to support demonetisation.

Swaraj recently in a media interaction said that his criticism against Mohanlal was on healthy grounds. He said, “I didn’t ask Mohanlal to move to Pakistan or ask him to stop acting. I respect his opinion but I pointed out that his stand was wrong and foolish. Malayali viewers have enjoyed his comdey and foolishness on screen but when it happens off screen, it is a very serious issue. I criticised Mohanlal’s stand and like that he has the right to reply back.”

Mohanlal was criticised severely for making some controversial remarks in his blog. The actor had compared people standing in queues in liquor shops, theatres and in religious centres to those who are sweating it out at the long queues for withdrawing their money from banks and ATMs. Politicians like VD Satheesan and MM Mani also criticised Mohanlal for his stand in the issue without understanding the hardships faced by the common men of the country.

We had earlier reported that Nadirshah will be teaming up with Megastar Mammootty for a movie scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam. Mammootty will be seen as a 4 feet tall person in this yet-to-be-titled comedy entertainer.

The latest we hear is that, Nadirshah will be teaming up with his buddy Dileep soon after completing the Mammootty movie. The Dileep starrer will be an out and out humour based movie, just like the director’s previous movies. Saji Pazhoor will be scripting this movie.

Dileep and Nadirshah have been close friends ever since their mimicry days. They have acted together in several movies in the beginning of their career.

Ever since Nadirshah made his directorial debut in 2015 through the multistarrer Amar Akbar Anthony, speculations have been rife about Dileep and Nadirshah will teaming up. Dileep co-produced Nadirshah’s second mobie Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan, a sleeper superhit, released last year.

Both Dileep and Nadirshah are known for their impeccable comic timing and so their upcoming movie promises to be a rollicking entertainer.

Dileep, meanwhile is working on multiple projects. Kammara Sambhavam directed by ad filmmaker turned director Ratheesh Ambat and scripted by Murali Gopy, is a highly anticipated movie. The actor will be seen in multiple looks for the movie which also marks the Malayalam debut of popular actor Sidharth.

Dileep is also simultaneously shooting for Ramaleela, a political thriller directed by debutant Arun Gopi and written by Sachi. Prayaga Rose Martin is playing the female lead in this movie which also features veteran Kollywood actress Radhika Sarath Kumar in a pivotal role. Tomichan Mulakupadam is producing this movie under his banner Mulakupadam Films.

After finishing his portions for these two projects, Dileep will be joining the sets of Professor Dinkan directed by Ramachandra Babu.

1971 Beyond Borders shoot completed

Shoot for Mohanlal’s upcoming movie, 1971 Beyond Borders directed by Major Ravi has finally been wrapped up. Last schedule for the movie was completed in Georgia.

1971 Beyond Borders is a big budget movie which also features Tollywood hero Allu Sirish and Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh in pivotal characters. The movie is based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan.

Mohanlal is playing a dual character in the movie. He is once again playing the character Major Mahadevan after Keerthichakra, Kurukshetra and Kandahar. The other character is Major Sahadevan, Mahadevan’s father who fought in the 1971 war.

First schedule for the movie was completed in adverse conditions in Rajasthan. The team shot some war sequences using battle tanks in the sandy deserts of Rajasthan. After a break, the second schedule was filmed at Ottapalam.

The team recently moved to Georgia to can some important scenes for Major Mahadevan’s character, who is now a Colonel working in the UNO peace keeping battalion. Some riveting action sequences choreographed by Mafia Sasi was filmed in Georgia.

Asha Sarath, model turned actresses Priyanka Agarwal and Zoya Zayed Khan, Renji Panicker, Sudheer Karamana, Saiju Kurup and many others are also part of the cast.

Sujith Vassudev has handled the cinematography while Rahul Subramanian and Sidharth Vipin have scored the music for this movie. Haneef Ahmed has produced this big budget movie under the banner Red Rose Creations.

Motion poster for Megastar Mammootty’s upcoming release The Great Father is trending virally in social medias. The 55 second video has now been watched by 10 lakh people. This is an incredible achievement considering the usual response for motion posters in Mollywood.

Earlier the video set a new record in South Indian cinema with the likes count in YouTube. It has already fetched over 41,000 likes. It exceeded the record previously held by Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Kaththi. Motion poster for the Vijay starrer has a lifetime likes count of 36,379.

The Great Father’s motion poster has also gone past the life time count of Indian cinema’s one of the most expected movie Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

In today’s scenario, social media response in platforms like YouTube have considerable impact on the publicity of the movie. YouTube views and likes also gives us an idea about the anticipation levels for the movie among the public.

The Great Father is written and directed by debutant Haneef Adeni. The movie features Kollywood actor Arya, Sneha, Shaam, Malavika Mohanan, IM Vijayan, Manikandan Achari and Baby Anikha in prominent characters.

Songs are narrated through the plot. So most leading actors in the current generation except for a few like Prithviraj and Indrajith, are not so great with their dancing skills.

The industry’s hot favourite Dulquer Salmaan is another good dancer who has proved his skills even in the limited opportunities. Recently his performance in the song Nokki Nokki from Jomonte Suvisheshangal, was widely discussed in social medias.

Dulquer brings a flamboyance and cool attitude to his dancing. The actor recently shared about his dancing and more. “I have faced a lot of embarrassment for my dancing skills. My friends used to mock me saying that my dancing is like boxing. But I didn’t heed to all that. I just danced like I wished. Mohanlal is currently going through a golden phase delivering back to back massive successes. His last three release Janatha Garage (Telugu), Oppam and Pulimurugan earned huge revenue. His latest release, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol is also doing great business in the box office and is expected to continue the terrific run in the coming days.

Apart from that the actor has committed for a slew of big budget projects. According to latest reports, the actor will be seen in an upcoming movie titled as Odiyan, directed by ad filmmaker Sreekumar. Myth has it that Odiyan is named after a man who is mastered in odividya, a black magic trick to tackle the enemies. The film is written by Harikrishnan.

An exciting information about this movie is that Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will be sharing screen space with Mohanlal. Amitabh Bachchan and Mohanlal has earlier acted together in Ram Gopal Varma’s Aag and Kandahar, through which Bachchan made his debut in Mollywood.

It will be mouthwatering to see Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachchan together on screen once again. The 4 time National award winner, Bachchan has of late been committing only for movies with plum roles that has scope for performance.

If the two actors join together, it will be a big booster for the business prospects of the movie. The two are also reported to act together in MT Vasudevan Nair’s epic multi crore movie Randamoozham.

Apart from Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachchan, Odiyon is also said to feature Prakash Raj and Manju Warrier in pivotal characters. It has also been reported that movie will be made in 3D format in Malayalam.

However, when Times of India contacted the director he said, “The film is in a very premature stage. It is just a thought I had and I have no clue who is spreading all these. If anything progresses, I would definitely tell you.”

If this project materializes it will be exciting to watch all these stars together on screen.
