Ezra will be a landmark movie in Malayalam: Sudev Nair

Sudev Nair, a film institute pass out grabbed the eyeballs of the Malayali audience when he won the State award for best actor in 2014. After that he has acted in only a handful of movies but had substantial roles to perform in all those films.

He will be next seen in Prithviraj’s upcoming horror thriller Ezra scheduled to hit screens on February 10. Ezra is a highly anticipated movie mainly because of the intriguing teasers. Sudev Nair in a recent interview shared some information about his character and the movie.

He said, “Usually I am offered only intense characters. But this time it is a very different role with a new look. I am not allowed to reveal more about the character. Recently I saw some portions of the movie and I can assure that it will be a landmark movie in Malayalam. Tovino Thomas also has a great role in the movie.”

Sudev is acting with Prithviraj for the second time in Ezra after sharing screen space with him in the romantic superhit movie Anarkali. He had a meaty role to perform in that movie also.

Ezra directed by debutant Jay K, is set in around two periods centered around the Jew settlements in Kochi. Industry insiders believe that Ezra will be a path breaking movie that will trigger a new trend of real, authentic horror movies. Kollywood actress Priya Anand, Vijayaraghavan, Ann Sheetal, Babu Antony, Vijayaraghavan, Bharath Dabholkar and many others also feature in the movie.

Vineeth Sreenivasan is one of the most promising current gen filmmakers in Mollywood. He has directed four movies of which two were youthful entertainers, one was a crime thriller and the other one was a family drama. He has also scripted Oru Vadakkan Selfie, another youthful fun filled entertainer.

In this period, Vineeth has developed a team of talented technicians with whom he works regularly. Similarly, he prefers working with actors like Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese and other youngsters.

Recently, Vineeth revealed that he had plans to make movies with senior stars like Mohanlal and Mammootty. “I had planned to do movies with Mohanlal and Mammootty. But later dropped those ideas because the scripts could not fascinate me. I would definitely love to movie with them but I should have the right script that suits them.”

Vineeth had earlier in an interview said that he wanted to bring back the vintage Mohanlal- Sreenivasan duo back on screen. But he could not find a story that had the potential to unite the all time favorite combo.

Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next release is Aby in which he is playing the lead role of a boy who builds an aircraft out of his love for flying. The movie directed by debutant Srikant Murali is expected to hit screens soon.

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s next release will be Ezra scheduled to hit screens on February 10. Ezra is a horror thriller directed by debutant Jay K. Young star Tovino Thomas is playing a small but prominent role in the movie.

Tovino Thomas is acting with Prithviraj for the third time after 7th Day and Ennu Ninte Moideen. The actor won rave reviews for his performance as Perumpparambil Appu in Ennu Ninte Moideen. Interestingly, it was Prithviraj who suggested Tovino Thomas for the role after being impressed with his performance in 7th Day.

Prithviraj in a recent interview to a national daily, thanked Tovino Thomas for being a part of Ezra. The actor said that Tovino Thomas’s role in the movie is a very significant one. He added that Tovino Thomas played the role mainly because of their friendship as well as his relationship with the makers of the film, who also produced Tovino Thomas’s upcoming movie Godha. Prithviraj also added that Tovino Thomas is a much bigger star than somebody who would play such a role. He is playing the role of a cop in the movie.

Priya Anandh is marking his Mollywood debut through this horror thriller. The movie also stars Sudev Nair, Babu Antony, Bharat Dabholkar, Vijayaraghavan and many other actors in supporting roles.

Ezra is produced by Mukesh R Mehta and C V Saradhi under the banner E 4 Entertainment.

Mohanlal to star in big budget 3D movie Odiyan?

Mohanlal, who is going through a terrific box office run has already committed to a handful of big budget projects. According to latest reports, the actor will be seen in an upcoming movie titled as Odiyan. The movie will be directed by ad filmmaker Sreekumar. The myth has it that Odiyan is named after a man who is mastered in odividya, a black magic trick to tackle the enemies. The film is written by Harikrishnan.

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Prakash Raj and Manju Warrier will also be playing prominent roles in the movie. It has been reported that movie will be made in 3D format in Malayalam.

When Times of India contacted the director he said, “The film is in a very premature stage. It is just a thought I had and I have no clue who is spreading all these. If anything progresses, I would definitely tell you.” If this project materializes it will be amazing to watch all these stars together on screen.

Right after the humongous success of Pulimurugan, Mohanlal changed gears and started signing for big budget movies. All his upcoming movies are highly anticipated mainly for the sheer scale in which they are being planned.

He is currently shooting for Major Ravi’s 1971 : Beyond Borders based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. It is a multistarrer featuring Tollywood actor Allu Sirish and Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh in pivotal characters.

His next with B Unnikrishnan is also a big budget movie also featuring popular Kollywood hero Vishal, Tollywood actor Srikanth and Hansika Motwani.

Another biggie waiting in the pipeline is the epic Randamoozham with Mohanlal and other leading stars from all major Indian languages.

Aanandam written and directed by debutant Ganesh Raj was last year’s surprise winner. The movie by a team of youngsters was welcomed with great response from the audience. It registered good business in the box office and ended with a superhit tag.

Aanandam is a youthful entertainer revolving around a group of engineering students who are on a fun trip as part of their Industrial Visit. The movie featured seven new comers- Vishak Nair, Annu Antony, Thomas Mathew, Arun Kurian, Siddhi Mahajankatti, Roshan Mathew and Anarkali Marikar- in the lead roles.

Recently, the team released some deleted scenes from the movie. A total of 14 scenes were released.

The scenes were ordered as Breaktime with Akshay, Gautham and Devika, Gautham’s love for soft rock, Kuppi questioning Varun, Smoking hot Kuppi, Kuppi’s wise words, Everyone excited for Goa except Akshay, Akshay finds interesting contact in Dia’s phone, Kuppi surprise for Gautham, Engineering talks over seafood, Dia totally stumps Akshay with this truth or dare, Politics of Kuppi, Akshay setting up his date, Varun takes it up all on himself like always and Searching all over Goa for party.

All seven lead characters in the movie had different traits. The movie explored the possibilities of a movie around engineering life and Industrial Visit.

Director Ganesh Raj was backed by brilliant works from his technical team. Cinematography for the movie was handled by Premam fame Anend C Chandran and music was composed by Sachin Warrier. Abhinav Sunder Nayak was in charge of the cuts.

Vineeth Sreenivasan and Vinod Shornur produced the film under the banner of Habit Of Life and Cast N Crew.

We had earlier reported that promising young actor Dhyan Sreenivasan is getting married to Arpitha Sebastian, a techie working in Trivandrum. Earlier there were many speculations about his marriage. He was rumoured to marry actress Namitha Pramod but Dhyan Sreenivasan’s father Sreenivasan finally cleared airs regarding his son’s marriage.

Sreenivasan confirmed that his son will be marrying his long time girlfriend Arpitha Sebastian, a native from Pala. The engagement will be held on April 2 at Trivandrum. Their wedding will be held at Kannur, on April 7th. A reception is also planned to be held on April 10 for friends from the industry.

Apparently, Dhyan Sreenivasan and Arpitha have been in a relationship for a while now. They met through common friends in Trivandrum and Arpita was in Chennai as well.

Sreenivasan said that he doesn’t have any problem with his son marrying from a different religion. “It’s their wish. And their wish is more important, right? There is no need for me to interfere.”

Dhyan Sreenivasan made his entry to movies through Thira directed by his brother Vineeth Sreenivasan. Later he starred in movies like Kunjiramayanam, Adi Kappyare Kootamani. His last release was Ore Mugham in which he played the lead character Zachariah Pothen.

Earlier, the teaser was met with good response and popularised the movie among the audience. The movie revolves around a Tamil couple and their daughter who is settled in Bangalore.

Newcomer Ajay is playing the lead role in this movie. Abhinaya who is noted for her perfomance in movies like Nadodigal, Easen and 1 by Two is playing the female lead.

Kishore Kumar, A Venkatesh, Palani, Rithu, Hamsa, Nitin Thomas and many others play supporting characters in the movie.

Music for the movie is composed by Shawn Jazeel while Yuvraj and C Sethu is handling the editing. SJ Star is cranking the camera for this movie. Angeline Davinici has produced this movie touted to be a family thriller.

Happy Wedding fame Omar Lulu’s upcoming movie titled as Chunkzz is all set to go floors on February 9. Official first look poster of the movie was released recently. The movie promises to be a fun ride with revolving around travel and friendship.

The team has finally announced their female lead. The gorgeous Honey Rose has been roped in to play a ‘Mech Rani’ in the movie. She is playing a girl who joins mechanical engineering, a stream considered as a boys’ fort. The movie will revolve around the incidents after she joins the college. Aanandam fame Vishak Nair and Balu Varghese, Ganapathi, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Lal and Siddique are playing the major roles in the movie. Mareena Michael who was noted for her brief appearance in Happy Wedding is also playing an important character.

The director’s debut movie, Happy Wedding was a sleeper hit which had a theatrical run of over 100 days. The movie sans any big stars turned into a great success mainly due to the humour and the entertainment factor. Chunkzz also promises to be a similar entertainer.

Three newbies Sanoop Thykoodam, Joseph Vijeesh and Aneesh Hameed have scripted this movie. They have jointly written the screenplay and dialogues for Omar Lulu’s story.

Gopi Sunder is composing the music for this movie. Honey Bee fame Alby will be cranking the camera while Dilip Dennies is in charge of the cuts. Pulimurugan’s art director Joseph Nellickal is also part of the team.

The movie is produced by Vaishak Rajan under his banner Vaishaka Movies. G Marthandan who directed last year’s superhit movie Pavada, Ajai Vasudev of Rajadhiraja fame, production controller Dixon Poduthas and Sreeraj AKD are the executive producers of this movie.

Director Kamal’s upcoming biopic Aami based on the life of revolutionary writer Kamala Das has been in the news for sometime now. Bollywood actress Vidya Balan was initially signed to play the lead in this movie.

However, the actress recently opted out of the project over creative differences with the director. Later it was reported that another Bollywood actress Tabu will be playing the lead in the movie. But Kamal dismissed the reports and said he never considered Tabu for the role.

Latest development in the camp is that, the talented diva Parvathy Menon has been approached to play the title role. Reportedly, Kamal has met Parvathy Menon for a few discussions and they are trying to sort out dates from the actor’s busy schedule.

Parvathy in her second innings in the industry garnered rave reviews with her performance in movies like Maryan, Bangalore Days, Ennu Ninte Moideen, Uttama Villain and Charlie. She won the State Award last year for her incredible performance in Ennu Ninte Moideen and Charlie.

Parvathy Menon’s next release will be debutant Mahesh Narayanan’s Take Off, a movie based on some real life incidents during the Iraq war. Meanwhile, she has also finished the first schedule of My Story in Poland. She is playing the female lead opposite her Ennu Ninte Moideen co-star Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Thala Ajith stunned his fans with a terrific makeover for his new movie titled as Vivegam. The first look poster released two days back has been trending virally across all social media platforms. Ajith is seen sports a bare body flaunting his six packs with his famous salt & pepper hair style. Celebrities like Dhanush, Sivakarthikeyan, Vikram Prabhu, Arun Vijay, Rana Daggubati, Venkat Prabhu, Kushboo Sundar, Simbu and many others shared the first look poster in Twitter and appreciated Ajith for his efforts and hardwork to undergo the stunning transformation.

Latest we hear is that the movie’s teaser will be released on Ajith’s birthday, May 1 as a treat for his fans. Vivegam marks the third time union of Ajith and director Siruthai Siva after Veeram and Vedhalam. Ajith is playing the role of an Interpol Officer in the movie. Major portions of the movie was shot in European countries. First schedule was successfully completed in Bulgaria and the second schedule was held in Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. The team has again returned back for the final schedule in Bulgaria. Shoot is in it’s final portions after which they will start the extensive post production works.

The movie is expected to release by the end of June this year.
