Kalhaarah; a new actress to make her debut through Prethamundu Sookshikkuka

Shine Tom Chacko’s next movie is titled as Prethamundu Sookshikkuka. The movie is directed by debutants Mohammed Ali and Shafeer Khan. Model turned actress Kalharaah is making her entry to movies through this movie.

Kalharaah after doing her fashion designing course in Bangalore turned to modeling. She later acted in some ad films. She was roped in for Prethamundu Sookshikkuka after a screen test.

The newbie is playing a character named Alice in the movie. Alice is a very modern North Indian who knows very little Malayalam. She is a millionaire’s daughter who at a particular point, gets close to Shine Tom’s character and gradually falls in love with him.

Shine Tom Chacko is playing a goon who has a certain sense of ethics when he takes up his quotations. Hence nicknamed as Ethics Babu by the locals.

The movie will be a fun filled suspense drama, also starring Harish Perady, Hareesh Kanaran, Indrans, Noby, Shammi Thilakan, Sunil Sukhada Kalabhavan Navas, Kalabhavan Haneef, Tesni Khan, TP Madhavan, Priyanka Balaji, Ponnamma Babu, Unni Shivapal and many other actors in supporting roles.

Heesham Abdul Khader is composing the songs for the lyrics written by Nishad Ahmed and Faiz Chaudhary. Aniyan Chithrashala is handling the cinematography. Bava is the art director for this movie.

Prethamund Sookshikkuka is produced by Mahi under the banner Superstar Films.

Megastar Mammootty-Shyam Dhar movie starts rolling

Mammootty’s new movie with 7th Day fame Shyam Dhar started rolling today in Kochi. The switch on and the traditional pooja was held in Kalamassery polytechnic college today. Actor Siddique, producer Anto Joseph and many others attended the occasion.

This yet to be titled movie will be a complete family entertainer, a completely different take from the debut movie 7th Day which was a dark thriller. Nee-na fame Deepti Sati and Asha Sarath are playing the female leads in the movie.

The director had earlier informed that, Mammootty is playing an Idukki native who comes to Kochi as a teacher trainer. His character considers every student as a child and they love his lectures as he connects and explains everything with an anecdote. He is a fabulous story teller and the film will reveal the reasons for the same. Mammootty’s character has a peculiar name in the movie and the team will reveal the name along with the title.

Asha Sharath is playing a teacher while Deepti Sati will be playing a totally different role from her previous movie.

Story and screenplay for this movie will be written by debutant Ratheesh Ravi. He explained that he had taken many references to sketch Mammootty’s character in the movie. He also assured that everyone will fall in love with this character.

The movie is being produced by will B Rakesh and Mohammed Salim under the banner MSM Cinemas. M Jayachandran ia composing the songs for this movie.

The Mammootty starrer also features Innocent, Dileesh Pothen, Hareesh Kanaran and Sohan Seenulal in pivotal roles. Ernakulam and Idukki are the major locations for the movie

Superstar Mohanlal is the brand ambassador of the State government’s road safety programme. He recently attended as the chief guest in the SOFT (Save Our Fellow Traveller) inauguration held as part of the road safety programme. SOFT is a core group of volunteers who are given special training to attend and save people injured in road accidents.

Kerala State Police Chief and DGP Loknath Behera also attended the function. While addressing the gathering, he opened up about his admiration for Mohanlal.

“Mohanlal is one of the world’s best actors. I am a die-hard fan of him. When I visited Kerala for ASP training back in 1987, I happened to watch this movie Thalavattam. I really liked that movie. From that day I became a very big admirer of Mohanlal. I recently watched his movie Pulimurugan. More than me, it was my son who loved that movie.”

Sandra Thomas has now lashed out at these online medias through her official Facebook account. She has written that, “These medias do not have any humanity. They are using a celebrity’s life to gaining more publicity. They don’t realize how painful and embarrassing it is for the concerned person and their family.”

She also questioned whether these medias will use Amala Paul or Aishwarya Rai’s photos and get away with it. She added that these medias are doing this deliberately to humiliate and demean a person.

The video has already got over 5 lakh views in YouTube with over 25,000 likes. Interestingly, Indian cinema’s one of the biggest blockbusters Baahubali’s motion poster had around 32,000 likes. Mammootty’s The Great Father is only 7000 likes short and is soon expected to better Baahubali’s life time count.

Mammootty, Sneha and Baby Anikha feature in it. The movie written and directed by debutant Haneef Adeni also stars Kollywood actor Arya, Shaam, Malavika Mohanan, IM Vijayan, Kammatipadam fame Manikandan Achari in pivotal roles.

Pulimurugan collection report

Mollywood’s only hundred crore grosser Pulimurugan is still running in some theatres even after crossing the 100 day mark. The movie directed by Vysakh has also done a business of over 150 crores.

A detailed breakdown on the collections of Pulimurugan is given below :

From Kerala box office alone, Pulimurugan has grossed a whopping Rs 85.7 crores. From the UAE and GCC centres, the movie has raked in a record Rs 33.50 crores. The rest of India collections stand at Rs 9.5 crores. The combined collections in UK and US amount upto Rs 3.70 crores. From other centres (Rest of World) like Australia, Newzealand, the movie has grossed Rs 1.50 crores.

On a whole, the Malayalam version of Pulimurugan alone has grossed Rs 134.20 crores. This action packed mass entertainer was dubbed in Telugu as Manyam Puli.

Manyam Puli opened to tremendous response from the Telugu audience. Recently the movie crossed its 50 days theatrical run. Worldwide collections of the Telugu version alone amount to Rs 13.5 crores.

So, in total the worldwide gross of Pulimurugan is 148 crores. Satellite, audio and overseas distribution rights are amounted to another 15 crores. That makes the total business of the movie to a whopping 163 crores. It should be noted that collections form B class theatres have not been included in the list.

Pulimurugan, written by Udhayakrishna had Mohanlal in the title role of a wild hunter known for hunting down man eating tigers. Kamalini Mukherjee played the female lead in this movie which also had Lal, Jagapathi Babu, Bala, Makarand Deshpande, Vinu Mohan and many others in pivotal characters. The movie was bankrolled by Tomichan Mulakupadam under his banner Mulakupadam Films.

One of the most awaited movies of the year is the Amal Neerad- Dulquer Salmaan untitled movie. The movie which was long in the making, was only recently wrapped up. Earlier there were reports about the movie releasing on March 23 but apparently the theatre strike has forced the makers to release the movie for Vishu. An official confirmation regarding the same is awaited.

Dulquer Salmaan is playing the character Aji John, an youngster hailing from Pala who travels to the US to meet his girlfriend. The movie is said to focus more on the events happening after he reaches the US. Debutante Karthika Muraleedharan is playing the female lead in this movie. Soubin Shahir, Jinu Jospeh, John Vijay and many other foreign artists are also part of the cast.

Shibin Francis has scripted this movie. He was the scriptwriter Prithviraj’s movie Pavada released last year. Amal Neerad’s long time associate Ranadive has handled the cinematography. Gopi Sunder is composing the songs and background score.

The movie is jointly produced by director Amal Neerad and Anwar Rasheed, for the banners Amal Neerad Productions and Anwar Rasheed Entertainment.
