Pelli Choopulu Malayalam version Oru Pennu Kanal Kadha gearing up for release

We had earlier reported that the blockbuster Tollywood movie Pelli Choopulu will be dubbed in Malayalam. The movie titled as Oru Pennu Kanalinte Kadha is gearing up for release.

Pelli Choopulu is a romantic comedy entertainer which deals with the story of a boy and a girl brought together by a business proposition.

The movie was a huge blockbuster which in Telugu and went on to collect more than 60 crores. Pelli Choopulu received highly positive reviews both from the common audience and the critics. It is highly rated as one of the best movies released in Tollywood in recent years.

The movie directed by Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam will be released by Sunil AK under the banner New Surya Films. It stars Vijay Devarakonda and Ritu Varma played the lead roles in the movie.

Apart from Vijay Deverakonda and Ritu Varma the movie also stars Priyadarshi Pullikonda, Nandu, Abhay Bethiganti, Anish Kuruvilla, Padmaja Lanka, Kedar Shankara, Gururaj Manepalli and Sujata in other supporting roles.

Vivek Sagar has composed the songs while cinematography was handled by Nagesh Banell. Ravi Teja Girijalla edited the movie.

We had also reported that the Tamil remake rights of Pelli Choopulu was attained by popular filmmaker Gautham Menon’s home production company Ondraga Entertainment. The director is reportedly trying to rope in Nivin Pauly to play the lead in the Tamil version.

The Complete Actor Mohanlal’s upcoming movie Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol is slated to release this month. Official trailer of the movie was released today evening. Mohanlal shared the trailer in his official Facebook page.

Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol is directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob. M Sindhuraj has scripted the movie which is based on the short story Pranayopanishad written by James VJ.

This family entertainer stars Mohanlal and Meena in the lead roles. They play a couple in the movie. Jacobinte Swargarajyam fame Aima Rose Sebastian is playing their daughter in the movie. Anoop Menon, Srinda Arhaan, Neha Saxena, Rahul Madhav, Kalabhavan Shajon, Sharafudheen and many other actors are also part of the cast.

Sofia Paul has funded the movie under the banner Weekend Blockbusters.

Mohanlal is often hailed as one of the best actors in the entire country. Many directors, actors and technicians have eulogized the actor for his impeccable acting prowess and the range in which he performs.

Legendary director Fazil has made some amazing movies with Mohanlal like Manichitrathazhu, Nokkethadhoorathu Kannum Nattu, Harikrishnans etc. In a recent interview, the director shared some of his thought about Mohanlal the actor.

The director who has an experience of 35 years in cinema said, “An actor should have various facets. He should have both good and bad traits.

On the positive side, he should be intelligent, hardworking, determined, humble, artistic, friendly, have a good taste for music. While on the negative side, he should be able to at least recognize a thief and treat him accordingly.

We have only one actor who has all these traits and that is Mohanlal. He possesses all these qualities and that is a blessing given by the God.

There are many other actors who posses all these qualities but what makes Mohanlal different from the others is he has an excess of all these traits.

Out of my 20 movies in Malayalam, 9 of them had Mohanlal. We have a great bonding. When casting for the role of antagonist in Manjil Virinja Pookal, I wanted someone who is innocent and genuine.

That is when Mohanlal walked in with a ladies umbrella and walking shyly. After watching his performance I have him 90 marks and decided to cast him.

Mohanlal made his debut as a villain in Manjil Virinja Pookal. Interestingly, it was also the debut movie of director Fazil.

Even when he is hailed as the one of the most popular actors in the industry who has an envious profile, many people have alleged that Mammootty is a stubborn and outspoken person.

During a recent interview, director Sathyan Anthikad shared a very interesting tale about Mammootty.

Once when Sathyan Anthikad met Mammootty in a shooting location, he said to Mammootty “looks like you have put on some weight”, to which the actor replied “is it? Then I am quitting non vegetarian food”.

On the same day, the two were invited for a lunch in a friend’s house in Kozhikode. Most of the food items served there were non veg dishes. But Mammootty did not touch any of those.

Sathyan Anthikad asked “why are you not having anything?”. Mammootty said that he has already stopped eating non vegetarian food.

Bemused by Mammootty’s decision, Sathyan asked “you took that decision today morning, why don’t you start it from tomorrow.” But Mammootty said that when a decision is taken, it should be absolutely resolute and should start from that moment onwards.

In the interview Sathyan Anthikad said, “this is Mammootty, he is always determined and inflexible. Once he takes a decision, he is keen on accomplishing that.

This makes him look like a stubborn and arrogant man for people who do not know him well. But he is a very soft hearted man and a sincere man”

Sathyan Anthikad has worked with Mammootty in many movies like Kinnaram, Golanthara Varthakal, Gandhi Nagar 2nd Street, Sreedharante Onnam Thriumurivu, Artham, Kalikkalam etc.

The director’s next release is Jomonte Suvisheshangal starring Mammootty’s son Dulquer Salmaan in the lead. The movie is releasing on December 16th

Megastar Mammootty’s superhit movie Bhaskar The Rascal will now be remade in Kollywood with Arvind Swamy playing the title character.

Bhaskar The Rascal was directed by Siddique and had Nayanthara playing the female lead. Director Siddique has been getting many offers to remake the movie in other languages.

He had earlier planned to remake the film in Kollywood with Ajith Kumar in the lead. But the project could not materialize due to many unknown reasons.

After that there were reports that Superstar Rajinikanth had shown interest in remaking the movie. But, there were no further developments.

Siddique decided to move on and he decided to direct his upcoming movie Fukri with Jayasurya in the lead. Fukri is releasing for this Christmas.

Now that the works for Fukri are over, again there are reports that handsome hunk Arvind Swamy who made a stunning comeback though Thani Oruvan will play the lead in the Kollywood version of Bhaskar The Rascal.

The movie deals with the story of a handsome young widower who is impatient and quick-tempered and what happens when a single mother comes into his life.

Bhaskar The Rascal was a huge blockbuster that went on to run for more than 100 days in theatres.

Aravind Swamy will fit the bill perfectly with his Greek God looks and his refined acting. Let’s wait for an official confirmation from the director about the remake and the title.

PuliMurugan 54 days Kerala collection report

PuliMurugan, the historical success in Mollywood and one of the biggest hits in South Indian Cinema as a whole still continuing with houseful shows here in Kerala.

The flick had completed 50 days run here and the Telugu dubbed version of the movie named Manyam Puli had hit more than 350 screens in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as well.

The 54 days Kerala Collection report of the movie had arrived and as per the trade reports, the film had grossed around 76 crores from its 54 days run in Kerala.

The flick still has more than 300+ shows per day here and it is running in near 100 screens as well in its 9th week.

The total worldwide gross of the movie is going towards the 125 crore mark and the total business done by the movie is reaching towards 140 crores as well.

PuliMurugan had earned near 32.5 crore from UAE/GCC market and grossed over 9 crore from rest of India market as well. From reported centers at USA, the flick had earned near 1.70 crore and from UK it grossed over 1.75 crore.

In all the above mentioned markets like UAE/GCC, USA and UK, it had become the highest Mollywood grosser ever and in UAE/GCC Market, it had become the highest south Indian grosser ever as well.

From other parts of the world, it had grossed over 1 crore till now. With the big release of its Telugu dubbed version, the movie is expected to gross over 150 crores in its final run and its total business may end up near 170 crores as well.
