Aamir Khan to do a cameo in Secret Superstar

Aamir Khan is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming sports drama Dangal. The movie is scheduled for a Christmas release on December 23.

Bollywood medias report that Aamir Khan will be playing a guest role in his next production titled as Secret Superstar. The movie marks the directorial debut of his former manager Advait Chauhan.

Aamir will be playing the role of a mentor in this movie. Some stills of the movie were released in which Aamir was sporting a weird look. This movie is scheduled to release for August 4 next year.

The actor’s unbelievable body transformation for playing the character of Mahavir Singh Phogat was awe inspiring.

Recently, the makers had released a video which showed the efforts took by Aamir for gaining the two distinct looks.

Meanwhile, Aamir has also started prepping up for Thugs of Hindostan, in which he will be playing the lead along with one of the country’s biggest superstars Amitabh Bachchan.

Both the superstars will be sharing screen space for the first time through this movie. This big budget movie will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya under the banner of Yash Raj Films.

Director VM Vinu on why Mammootty’s Face to Face flopped

Director VM Vinu is making a comeback to movies after a gap of 4 years through his latest movie Maruapadi. The movie stars Bhama and Rahman in the lead roles.

VM Vinu’s last movie was Megastar Mammootty’s Face to Face. Mammootty played the role of a police officer in the film. Face to Face was a failure in the box office.

Recently in an interview when asked about why the movie could not do well, the director said “It was a very significant theme that deals with present situation prevailing in the society.

A girl is raped by four youngsters and a police officer also comes in between this. Mammootty liked the plot very much and he hopped on to the project. But Malayali audience could not receive the theme.

Loopholes in the script also affected the movie. Many people say that success or failure do not really affect them, but for me sucess inspires me while failures makes me feel low”.

VM Vinu has directed many acclaimed movies like Balettan, Vesham, Yes Your Honour etc.

Marupadi is a women centric that deals with a woman who gets remanded for 14 days and her experiences during this period while in the jail. The movie is written by Julaina Ashraf.

Apart from Bhama and Rahman many other actors like Baby Nayanthara, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Meenakshi, Anjali Upasana, Srinda Arhaan, Tessa, Sudheer Mukherjee, Krishnakumar play pivotal roles in the movie.

Marupadi is produced by Ashraf Bedi, under the banner of Bedi Motion Pictures.

Jayasurya-Sajid Yahiya to team up again after IDI

Jayasurya teamed up with debutant director Sajid Yahiya earlier this year for the movie Inspector Dawood Ibrahim (IDI).

IDI was released in August this year to poor reviews both from critics and the audience. IDI was a comedy entertainer that narrated the story of an ambitious police officer who gets trapped in a rural area.

After failing to please the auidence, the movie ended up as a commercial failure.

But now, the director-actor duo is teaming up again for a new movie, this time a gangster story set in the backdrop of Thrissur Pooram. The movie has been titled as Gangs of Vadakkumnathan.

Jayasurya will be playing the character ‘Varal Jaison’, a gangster based in Thrissur.

Shoot will commence in May next year. The plot is set from the first day to the last day of the festival in five parts. Reportedly, the makers are planning to film many important portions during the actual Pooram.

It is to be remembered that in the 2013 release D Company, an anthology of three films, Jayasurya played the character Varal Jaison in the part Gangs of Vadakkumnathan.

It is still not known whether the new movie is the continuation from the part in D Company.

Jayasurya has earlier acted as a Thrissur native in Punyalan Agarbathis.
