Writer Sethu enters direction through Mammootty’s movie

Sachy-Sethu was a popular scriptwriting duo in Malayalam industry. They have worked together for movies like Chocolate, Robinhood, Makeup Man, Seniors and Doubles.

The duo later parted ways and started working as independent script writers.

Sachy entered direction in 2015 with the superhit romantic movie Anarkali starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead. Now, Sethu is also making his directorial debut with a family entertainer starring Megastar Mammootty in the lead.

Mammootty meanwhile is busy shooting for director Ranjith’s Puthan Panam. After Puthan Panam, he will joining the sets of 7th Day fame Shyam Dhar’s upcoming movie. Shoot for Sethu’s movie will commence only after completing both these projects.

Puthan Panam is scheduled to release on April 7 as a Vishu release. The Great Father, directed by debutant Haneef Adeni will be the next release on januaray 27 ,so the audience were waiting to see eagerly the most stylist star after thoppil joppan on screen

Sethu is also busy scripting for the multi starrer Achayans directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam. Achayans stars Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Unni Mukundan, Sanju Sivaram, Adil Ibrahim and Amala Paul in the lead.

Sethu has earlier scripted individually for movies like Mallu Singh, I Love Me, Salaam Kashmier and Cousins

Puthan Panam release date confirmed

Megastar Mammootty is currently busy shooting for director Ranjith’s upcoming movie Puthan Panam. Mammootty is playing the character, Nityananda Shenoy in the movie.

Some location stills of the movie were released recently. Mammootty was seen sporting a salt and pepper look with a thick moustcahe wearing jewellery resembling a rich businessman.

There were some unconfirmed reports that Puthan Panam will release in January and Mammootty’s another much expected movie, The Great Father will release for Vishu next year. Due to some technical qualities reasons the film had postponeded.

But we hear from trustworthy sources that these reports are not true and that Puthan Panam is scheduled to release on April 7 as a Vishu release. The Great Father, directed by debutant Haneef Adeni will release on January 27.

Puthan Panam has actress Sheelu Abraham and Ineya playing the female leads. Siddique, Sai Kumar, Renji Panicker, Mamukoya, Aanandam fame Vishak Nair, Harish Kanaran, Swaraj, Nirmal Palazhi and many others are playing supporting roles.

Popular Kollywood cinematographer Om Prakash is cranking the camera while Shabaaz Aman is composing the music for this movie.

Mohanlal’s sensational blockbuster Pulimurugan’s Telugu version, Manyam Puli was released last Friday to great response.

The movie was released in 350 thetares in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana states. According to reports from Telugu media, Manyam Puli has minted around 5 crores from the first day collections itself.

Appreciation is flowing in from all corners of the Tollywood audience. Mohanlal’s stunning performance in the action sequences have got huge praise from the audience.

Young Tollywood actor Naga Anvesh, recently congratulated Mohanlal for the success of Manyam Puli in his Facebook post.

The post reads,

Mohanlal has gained popularity in Tollywood after his performance in movies like Manamantha and Janatha Garage.

Especially, Janatha Garage where he played the lead along with young superstar Jr NTR was a massive blockbuster doing a business of over 100 crores.

The success of Manyam Puli has inspired makers of Oppam to release the dubbed version of the movie. The Telugu dubbed version of Oppam titled as Kanupapa is releasing on December 30th.

This is a very hearty change for the South Indian industry where movies from other industries are being appreciated and welcomed breaking the language barriers and reaping commercial success.

Singam 3’s release postponed for Ram Charan’s Dhruva

Suriya’s much expected movie Singam 3 aka S3 was initially planned to release on December 16th. The movie recently got pushed by a week to release on December 23rd.

Suriya revealed the reason for the film’s postponement in S3 Yamudu press meet at Hyderabad.

He said, “Ram Charan’s Dhruva is like our family film. So little adjustments in the release date of S3. This film is an important film in his career. All the best to Ram Charan to Dhruva. ”

Dhruva is the official Telugu remake of blockbuster Tamil movie Thani Oruvan. Dhruva stars Ram Charan reprising the role of Jayam Ravi in the original.

Arvind Swami is playing the antagonist again while and Rakul Preet Singh is the female lead in this movie.

Dhurva is slated to release on 9th of December. Apparently, Suriya and the makers of S3 decided to push their release date to 23rd December for Dhruva.

S3 directed by Hari is the third installment of the popular Singam franchise. The movie stars Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan as the female leads. Thakur Anoop Singh is playing the antagonist in this movie.

Earlier it was reported that S3 was initially scheduled to release during the Diwali season, but Suriya postponed the movie for Christmas season for his brother Karthi’s big budget fantasy drama, Kaashmora.

Singam 3 is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the banner Studio Green and Aadnah Arts.

Suriya meanwhile has also started shooting for Thaana Serntha Kootam (TSK) directed by Vignesh Sivan. Keerthy Suresh is playing the female lead in this movie.

The actress in a recent interview said that it was her decision to stay away from movies after the wedding. She believed that concentrating in movie after the wedding, will affect her family life.

Lissy-Priyadarshan couple have two children. The actress said, she was very busy after her wedding raising up the kids and then looking after their business.

Lissy said, I never felt sorry for not acting in movies after marriage. My happiness was around my husband and kids, so i never regretted my decision to stay away from movies.

I still believe that was the best decision I could take, and even today I do not have any second thoughts about that.

Lissy was one of the most popular actresses of the south in the 80s and early 90s. She grabbed the audience’s hearts with her stunning looks.

The talented actress was at the peak of her career when she fell in love with popular filmmaker Priyadarshan and married him.

The celebrated couple got married in 1990. She has acted with some of the most popular actors of that time like Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram Mukesh etc.

The couple filed for divorce in 2014, and ended their 24 year long married life in 2016 when the divorce was granted.

Mohanlal’s Sphadikam, released in 1995 enjoys a cult status among the Malayali audience. Mohanlal’s Aadu Thoma and his twirled moustache, the Ray Ban sun glass, the fierce dialogues and every aspect of the movie is still raved about.

Above all the stunt sequences were the major highlight of the film. Mohanlal won a much deserved Kerala State Award for his bravura performance in the movie.

Director of the movie, Bhadran in a recent interview recollected his memories while working in Sphadikam. He said, Sphadikam is undoubtedly his best movie with Mohanlal. All the actors did a fine performance.

The movie had a stellar star cast in Urvashi, Thilakan, Rajan P Dev, Sreeraman, Sphdikam George, KPAC Lalitha, Nedumudi Venu, Ashokan, Chippy, Silk Smith, Karamana Janardhanan etc.

Bhadran said that the movie had a solid screenplay, and that was the backbone of the movie. But the director said that the major attraction of the movie was the stunt sequences.

Sphadikam did not have the usual punch-block kind of stunts. Fight master Thyagarajan was not happy with that, but still the director insisted that the stunts should be more lively with fast movements.

Mohanlal did an amazing job, and the director said that apart from Mohanlal no one else in the country could carry out these stunts with such perfection.

Aadu Thoma’s “mund oori adi” is still very popular among the Keralites. Sphadikam is widely regarded as one of the best Malayalam commercial films. Mohanlal’s character Aadu Thoma is one of the most celebrated iconic characters in Mollywood.

Director Bhadran has also made some other movies with Mohanlal like Olympian Anthony Adam, Uncle Bun and Udayon

Young sensation Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming release is Jomonte Suvisheshangal directed by Sathyan Anthikad.

The movie is hitting screens on Decemeber 16, as a Christmas release. The actor also has a number of other exciting projects in the pipeline.

He has started shooting for Bollywood director Bejoy Nambiar’s bilingual movie Solo, made in Tamil and Malayalam. It is an experimental movie, with commercial elements.

The movie will have 5 lead heroines. Ann Augustine and mode turned actress Arthi Venkatesh are already part of the cast. Solo is scheduled to release for March next year.

Dulquer is currently in Texas, USA shooting for Amal Neerad’s upcoming movie. This is the last schedule for the movie. All other portions where canned in and around Kottyam area.

This yet to be titled movie has Dulquer playing the character Aji Mathew, a left wing supporter.

After that he will be doing Parvaa directed by popular actor turned filmmaker Soubin Shahir. This movie is produced by Anwar Rasheed. Paravaa has Dulquer Salmaan and a group of kids in the lead.

Dulquer will be playing an extended cameo in this movie which is primarily set in Mattanchery and Fort Kochi.

After shooting for Paravaa, he will again be joining the next schedule of Bejoy Nambiar’s Solo.

Dulquer Salmaan has also committed for a movie with debutant Salaam Bukhari. The movie is said to be a commercial entertainer.

With some interesting movies lined up for Dulquer Salmaan, we can see the actor expanding his popularity and crowd pull among the masses in 2017.

Directors Priyadarshan, Major Ravi, Joshiy, Sibi Malayil, Tini Tom, Aima Rose Sebastian, Aju Varghese and his family were some of the guests who attended the function.

Songs from the movie were screened during the event. All the songs are wonderfully picturized with some beautiful visuals.

Munthiri Vallikalal Thalirkkumbol is a family entertainer written by M Sindhuraj and directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob. The movie is based on the short story Pranayopanishad written by James VJ.

Sophia Paul is producing this movie under the banner Weekend Blockbusters.

Telugu version of the movie titled as Manyam Puli was released yesterday in around 350 theatres. The movie has also got a great initial reception and the producer is hoping that the success of Manyam Puli will help in reaching the 150 crore mark.

In a recent interview, Tomichan Mulakupadam said that the 100 days celebration of Pulimurugan will be a grand event.

He is planning to host the function at the Bolgatty Palace in Kochi in inviting top film personalities as chief guests in the presence of all the actors and technicians who have worked behind the success of this movie.

He said that the demonetisation move by the government, has affected the collections of the movie. But still weekend shows in most theaters in the state are houseful.

In between that, the movie was affected by piracy issues. But timely intervention by the makers with the help of police helped to track down the source. The producer said that the pirated version was uploaded from Pune.

He also added that talks are on for the second part of Pulimurugan, but currently he is focussing on his next production with Dileep in the lead. This movie will go on floors from December 9 in Palakkad.

M Sindhuraj has written the screenplay for this movie based on the story Pranayopanishad written by James VJ. Sofia Paul is producing this movie under the banner Weekend Blockbusters.

Prithviraj Sukumaran will be releasing his horror thriller Ezra during this season. Directed by Jayakrishnan aka Jay Kay, the movie is about Abraham Ezra’s life.

South Indian actress Priya Anand is making her Mollywood debut through this movie. Tovino Thomas, Vijayaraghavan, Babu Antony, Sudev Nair and many other actors are also part of the cast.

Dulquer Salmaan is collaborating with senior filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad for the first time through Jomonte Suvisheshangal.

This movie is also a family entertainer which focusses on a father-son relationship. Veteran actor Mukesh is playing Dulquer’s father in the movie.

Premam fame Anupama Parameswaran and Kollywood actress Aishwarya Rajesh are playing the female leads. The movie is written by Dr Iqbal Kuttippuram and produced by Sethu Mannarkkadu under the banner Full Moon Cinemas.

Jayasurya is also coming up with a Christmas release through Fukri directed by veteran filmmaker Siddique.

Megastar Mammootty’s The Great Father was also earlier planned for a Christmas release, but the makers had to postpone the release due to the extensive post production works.
